Wait, what's that theory about Dane we're talking about? You are not suggesting that imo ridiculous Dane theory?
Drake …
Some people believe Dane was a less powerful, 8nm soc and Drake is the beefed up 5 nm version. Based on a whole lot of assumptions with minimal evidence backing it up.Wait, what's that theory about Dane we're talking about?
It’s not funnyWhy be so cryptic? Just explain what you’re talking about.
The beefed up 5nm is only speculationSome people believe Dane was a less powerful, 8nm soc and Drake is the beefed up 5 nm version. Based on a whole lot of assumptions with minimal evidence backing it up.
Everything about this theory is speculation. There never was a Dane. The beefed up 5nm is only speculation
Nothing is confirmed at that time.Everything about this theory is speculation. There never was a Dane.
Look, I know I'm not a known insider by any means, but the sources I've heard from did tell me about the Partner Showcase ahead of time.I assumed he meant it was already delayed out of the current slot (i.e. into later in 2023)
True and yes 2023 is the max …Look, I know I'm not a known insider by any means, but the sources I've heard from did tell me about the Partner Showcase ahead of time.
Between them, people I trust who have been right before, and Nate being RIGHT HERE, and who is someone we generally trust because he cares about source quality and corroboration, and him having been right before -
This device is slated for production before the end of the year.
Late 2022 is the goal, early 2023 is a possibility.
We've seen evidence in this very thread that along with the Splatoon 3 Special Edition OLED Model, there's another model with a new backplate that is in production and may even have been in production in some capacity, such as validation testing, up to 6 months ago.
Hardware deadlines just don't slip like software, they're carefully planned and manufacturing testing is carried out months before actual full scale production; that testing is happening, maybe even has finished.
Whatever this thing is, if it's coming, it's coming late this year or early next, personally I think March would be the absolute latest. That is backed up by everything I have heard, and I have seen nothing to the contrary. For goodness' sake the finalised dev kits for Series X|S hit devs in JUNE for a November release, the best we know is that the next Switch has had dev kits in devs hands not for months, but YEARS at this point.
I don't see why anyone should be afraid something like this could slip when, especially with hardware, they work hard to make sure it doesn't. Nintendo Switch, as far as I know, was delayed due to software not being ready.
This isn't a clean break, that isn't an issue, there isn't software to wait on for this, especially if we are to believe Nintendo has been working on software updates in tandem with console development, so if it's slated for November it will release in November barring a natural disaster.
Not even a financial crisis stops Nintendo Switch hardware, look at the Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch, or the Coral Nintendo Switch Lite.
I wonder how late early 23 can be
H1 =/= Early 2023June 30, the last Friday in H1 2023.
So. Q1?H1 =/= Early 2023
A real master with 4K / DLSS 8nm and winkThugstas is a Master troll, guys.
H1 is a security termH1 =/= Early 2023
This isn't early 2023. Early 2023 would be up until the end of March.June 30, the last Friday in H1 2023.
It all depends on what Nate (and/or his sources) think early 23 range means, Joseki could be right and it could mean H1 but it could also mean anything else like Q1, January-April or before summer seasonSo. Q1?
Like.
March at the latest.
What have I been saying?
Where I come from, May is summer. It all depends on what Nate (and/or his sources) think early 23 range means, Joseki could be right and it could mean H1 but it could also mean anything else like Q1, January-April or before summer season
Officially, Drake has not been delayed. The window has been late '22/H1 '23 internally for a long while. I've been getting updates on timing; but I will not share any such specifics unless they fall outside that window -- late '22/early 23.
2021 was never in the cards. The only reason is was ever mentioned for 2021 is due to a mix up & conflating the new hardware in the hands of developers with the new hardware entering production with an OLED screen.
Blessed reassuranceLook, I know I'm not a known insider by any means, but the sources I've heard from did tell me about the Partner Showcase ahead of time.

Just plan for spring 2023. It makes too much sense, especially with BotW 2 coming out at the same time.I mean I believe you are very legit Nate, but... I gotta say, this feels a little big like hedging your bets. Everyone is dying to know if it's this year or next, and if you have any clue on that I'm not sure why you wouldn't share?

Sure, I mean maybe.. but there's still a chance... which is my point. I'd rather that hope was extinguished then linger on the rest of the next month or two.Just plan for spring 2023. It makes too much sense, especially with BotW 2 coming out at the same time.
Tomorrow is the first day of August and we have zero news on manufacturing for the new unit. If this was launching in a couple months we would absolutely know about it already.
I can't believe this is not set at nintendo, so the fact that we're still working with this not so tight schedule to begin with is incomprehensible.Late 2022 is the goal, early 2023 is a possibility.
Ya you'd think enough devs would know when it's coming out that it would be leaked by now.I can't believe this is not set at nintendo, so the fact that we're still working with this not so tight schedule to begin with is incomprehensible.
any other time, I'd say similar but logistics are kind fucked right now. hell the switch was, allegedly, pushed back so some games got some extra months. this wouldn't that dissimilarI can't believe this is not set at nintendo, so the fact that we're still working with this not so tight schedule to begin with is incomprehensible.
While it's totally possible they delay the intended launch of hardware, there's a window to do that in. They cant be planning for November launch and then cancel and delay it in September, because the stuff would already be ordered and manufacturing and marketing and all that would be starting. So I'd say it's extremely unlikely at this point that Nintendo is still deciding between holiday 22 or early 23.any other time, I'd say similar but logistics are kind fucked right now. hell the switch was, allegedly, pushed back so some games got some extra months. this wouldn't that dissimilar

That’s why I said yesterday we need to wait until SeptemberIIRC PS4 Pro was announced in September 2016 and came out in November 2016
IIRC PS4 Pro was announced in September 2016 and came out in November 2016
Buuuut it’s a different case, right? Not a simple upgrade even if Nintendo decides to present it this way, not the same console, not the same company etcShit. I was capping off my 2022 hopes in August thinking it couldn’t be later than that.
I sure as hell ain't betting on a delay like that. I'm still betting on a Jan/Feb reveal and an April/May launchWhile it's totally possible they delay the intended launch of hardware, there's a window to do that in. That thing needs at the veeeery least 3 months between announce and release imo.
If you want a closer gap, PS4 slim was announced at the same time, but came out in September too, and stolen units had found their way into people's living rooms the month before they even announced it.IIRC PS4 Pro was announced in September 2016 and came out in November 2016
3 months is fine. There was no more than a teaser trailer for the Switch until less than 2 months before launch.Buuuut it’s a different case, right? Not a simple upgrade even if Nintendo decides to present it this way, not the same console, not the same company etc

The switch was first talked about around a year before release and we had an assload of leaks, nothing like what we're seeing right now.3 months is fine. There was no more than a teaser trailer for the Switch until less than 2 months before launch.

Yeah I don't see why it wouldn't have exclusives. Exclusives sell hardware. If it doesn't have any exclusives, a lot of people (myself included) are just gonna stick with the regular switch to save 400 dollars.Nintendo had exclusive for both DSi and New 3DS, the idea that Drake will lack 1st party exclusives makes little sense to me, it will lack big exclusives early on of course but still we should see some exclusives even if it is only to show the new aspects of the console.
Xenoblade 4 Drake exclusive.
Imagine how good it would look.
