    We’ve noticed the temperature in here rising recently, and it seems like that won’t change next year as anticipation for hardware continues. We are a small team of moderators and reliant on reports, please report posts that you feel cross the line regarding fami’s terms of service, or if you feel the thread could use staff attention at any point.

    As always, please remember that the ignore function is available if there are any posters that you wish to not interact with.     • Hey everyone, this is just a heads-up to let you all know that the moderation team is currently in the process of prepping a thread for an open community discussion surrounding insider culture. We'd like the conversation to encompass things such as how members respond to insider information, how the community would prefer we handle the often impassioned sentiments that emerge, and so on.

    We're open to hearing from both supporters and skeptics. All we ask is that the dialogue remain civil, with all of us working together toward a productive framework for how these matters are approached by the community, and moderated by staff. Speaking candidly, the team finds the reports that emerge during periods of new info circulating to be some of the most challenging to handle. We simply wish to ensure we're doing right by the community, which is to be the purpose of the thread. We'll aim to have it out within the next couple days.

    It has come to our attention that, in recent weeks, this thread has gotten incredibly incendiary. Despite multiple staff posts, we have received a number of recent reports about folks’ behaviour in this thread.

    Whether or not you agree with them, treat other users with respect. If you find yourself getting heated about a particular topic or person, consider disengaging with the conversation, and if there’s a user you find you’d rather not see or hear from, make use of the “ignore” button. If you do see a user being hostile or toxic, do not hesitate to report them.

    This post serves as a line drawn. From here forward we are enacting stricter moderation policies for this thread. This will include posts such as personal attacks, attempts at “gotchas” for previous, incorrect predictions, and any post that is disruptive to this thread’s purpose of discussion of future Nintendo hardware.

    Posts that show a clear disregard for these rules will result in, at minimum, a two-week thread ban.

    • Hi everyone. It is no secret that we are all excited for the possibility of new Nintendo hardware on the horizon, whether it is soonish or just a little further away than that. We all know that the months and years leading up to the launch of new hardware are filled with plenty of rumors and "chatter". Some of those rumors end up being true. The vast majority end up being fake. While we cannot possibly control or verify every rumor that is posted here, we do expect some restraint from all users who are active in this thread. With that said, we want to apply or re-enforce a couple of rules regarding the posting of rumors and leaks.

    Any leak or rumor that you post needs to be cited. This includes any screenshot, text post, or fuzzy picture of a possible system. While we understand that internet posts are taken down all of the time, the original link should still be available to add when you are creating the post. If your posted is questioned then you will be expected to provide the source. Failure to provide said information may result in moderation. As you are likely aware, this thread generates a lot of lurkers from across the internet. We have been cited many times, and we would prefer that "homemade leaks" are not posted here as it hurts the site's reputation.

    Also, we understand that this is a highly sensitive thread. At times the discussion has gotten tense about what should and shouldn't be allowed to be shown here. We want everyone to feel welcomed here while respecting the rules and atmosphere. If you wish to post a leak that everyone will automatically know is fake, then it should be established as such right away. You should not post a fake leak with "do you think this is real?" At the same time, continuous sharing of fake leaks will not be tolerated and will be subject to moderation. Now, we understand that there will be a lot of nuance required from everyone, including the staff. Our goal is to try to keep this thread relaxed at times, if possible.

    If regular members want to have a further discussion about handling aspects of this thread in how it is used, we are not opposed to that conversation. We understand how active this thread is, and we want to continue to see excellent conversations here as they have been.

    • Hey everyone. We know that everyone is excited to get more news from Nintendo. The point of the Hide tags/posts is to keep certain information contained to our site, and not openly share it for the internet to see randomly. Certain users will have their reason for using these tags and we must respect that.

    While we are always open to new members, we need to establish some expectations for all users. Going forward, people who post stating that they are specifically looking to read the hidden content will be threadbanned. Anyone looking to engage with this thread should be expected to contribute at least one post with their thoughts.

    • Hi everyone, after reading the discussion in this thread and having our own internally, we agree that it would be better if this thread stayed more towards topics regarding hardware with regards to the [Redacted]. Discussions around launch line ups are generally fair game and some game topics intertwine with the hardware discussion, but the majority of software discussion can be had in other threads. Keep in mind that we have the First Party Software thread and the General Discussion thread. Also, people are still free to make specific speculation threads if they wish to.

    Off-topic chatter is one thing, but we want to try to keep this thread on track as often as we can.

    • Hey everyone, there is an ongoing conversation regarding where certain widely regarded dubious “insiders” fit on Famiboards. We are always listening to the reports we receive as well as posts in Site Feedback and Suggestions even if we do not respond to everyone. While we aren’t making broad policy changes just yet as conversations are ongoing, we would like to remind everyone at the very least Future Hardware has higher standards for sourcing. HotGirlVideos69 and Zippo do not reach reach that standard and should not be shared here. Thank you.
