You're joking right?

The ingame card game, the new story mode, Tricolor splatfests, like huh?
The card game is neat but it feels like something that will be a little distraction at best. From everything we've seen the story mode looks like a rehash of 1 & 2's story mode with some extra lore sprinkled in. Tricolor Splatfests are a cool idea, but the gameplay of it seems like it's going to be too chaotic (although to be fair I guess that is the theme of the game lol).

Xenoblade 3 and Mario + Rabbids 2 had season passes announced before release lol

Yeah I've seen a few replies about this. Honestly I didn't really follow the Xenoblade news that closely so I forgot. My bad. Ubisoft is a little different from Nintendo and I expected that from them. I realize it's becoming a more normal practice to announce it before launch, but it still feels kind of cheap in my opinion.

That Splatoon 3 direct left me completely unexcited, but then I also need to go back to Splatoon 2 and play the Octopath Expansion.

Worst thing is that I truly dig the Splatoon universe but I wish, WISH Nintendo would make a game where you can actually explore it.

Splatoon is a big enough franchise now for God's sake (unless Splatoon 3 sells less than expected), they should do a spinoff where they can really exploit the potential of this world.

I'm starting to wish we had gotten that June Direct just so the single player only people wouldn't complain so much
We just got the 100 hour RPG like two weeks ago. Before that we got the single player only Pokemon game, the single player turned based strategy game by the Octopath producers, the Kirby 3D platformer that's technically multiplayer but is perfectly oriented towards single player, the Warriors spinoff that's technically multiplayer but is perfectly oriented towards single player, and the single player remake of a beloved niche RPG. Later this year we're getting the single player turn based strategy Mario game that's a sequel to a beloved launch year title and the single player character action game that's been awaited for five years. And I'm only talking Nintendo published games here.

Single players on Switch are doing just fine in 2022.

I'm not concerned about the strength of Nintendo's lineup, I'm more curious if the rumors about Metroid Prime Remastered are true and if so how the game looks + what they have in store for 2023.

yeah but once a game comes out it doesn't matter anymore

that's two games

and if we're talking upcoming multiplayer games, we got...three. Kirby, Splatoon and Pokemon (the latter of which has substantial single player content).

So I retierate - single players on Switch are doing just fine in 2022, and they can afford to either hold on for a little bit longer or look to other, non-Nintendo published games for their fix.

sorry I was being facetious

"once a game comes out it doesn't matter anymore" may be implicitly part of the Direct Speculation creed but I wouldn't sincerely say it outright like that

For me, the fact that EPD finally releases something a little bigger again makes me want to get into Splatoon. That explains why I'm personally hoping for a nice single-player upgrade from Splatoon 2 so I have more of a reason to check it out and maybe get into the multiplayer as well.

Full disclosure: I am not Ness. I am Pokey shitposting online with a Ness avatar in order to ruin his reputation.

That'll be the plot of Mother 4. Stay tuned.

You made me realise that splatoon 3 is the first big epd project since animal crossing.
We need an "epd is falling off" thread

Hello I am a Nintendo Switch with the suffix “-um” attached to the end of my name

(I’m sorry, I do not know how to roleplay as a Switchum)

Nintendo Switch Sports was EPD and it sounds like it took a ridiculous amount of time and money to make
Another low on content multiplayer Nintendo epd game, epd really is falling off
"Nintendo epd only makes low effort multiplayer games??"

It still was light in content and a lot of the cost comes down the fact it had to rebooted losing a lot of money and time. Not like it has had any issue making the money back anyway lol

Just swung by on my rad ride Rhudania my dudes - great posts in this thread! I gotta blast off now! Give my regards to that bodacious princess!

Don’t ask me for anything ever again
