Good confirmation of Ray reconstruction although it was expected after hearing DLSS3.5. All but frame generation.
Seems like stuff he heard us similar to what I posted about the rumour. No clue if it's the same person or not, but makes me curious as to how much actual information was actually real from the guy or if he was too enthusiastic.Nate says that he has also heard things about the 2 SKUs.
When did he say that? I’m listening to it. All I’ve heard him say is he could see Nintendo doing it with the way things are now.Nate says that he has also heard things about the 2 SKUs.
He hasn’t been able to validate it with his usual source but “shouldn’t be dismissed”.When did he say that? I’m listening to it. All I’ve heard him say is he could see Nintendo doing it with the way things are now.
I’m watching Nate video so I’m not finished. Nate brought up the 2 SKU’s and saying it shouldn’t be dismissed with todays world.
I don’t have a problem with a digital only SKU. My issue is the digital only sku not even being BC. I’m sorry no no no. Yes the companies have to push us into a digital future
I beat the "I made a fanfiction for attention" allegations. So the two SKU nightmare is alive... As long as Nick's prophecy doesn't come true with the digital I think we'll be fine.
so far, it seems like the info we got from your(?) leak could be a mixture of true and false, based off of natedrake's podcast today. which, honestly, if you're taking a shot in the dark and hit targets on fairly apparent prospects, anyone fairly "in the know" could have done that lol.Seems like stuff he heard us similar to what I posted about the rumour. Regardless, I'm thankful for his insight. I still believe a 2 SKU release is still highly plausible, but we'll see.
What's more likely?:
-Nintendo is about to reveal the Switch 2 in a matter of weeks, without enough mainstream rumours to actually build hype or get people in the right mental state for it, and the first big clue that this is the case is that they privated the original Switch reveal
-The video being privated has some other, wonky reason behind it that we can't quite figure out, and is unrelated to the new console
Tbh, when you do think about it an digital-only SKU makes perfect sense for them (with digital BC of course). Nintendo is the only console publisher that doesn't let their games come down in price so their margins from one would be infinitely higher, not to say we've gotten leaks before about the console bringing a sizable amount of internal memory for this same reason. It's totally expected honestly, it's the another bc rumour that's complete bs.A digital SKU just makes no sense to me. What space is Nintendo saving by not including a tiny card reader? Does the card reader really cost that much to include? Do they want to abandon their toy company philosophy and end up digital only?
I could see an LCD/OLED SKU, or even a more docked like one that has much better cooling to slam up the clocks on the GPU, but digital only?
rip pablo and h1 believersHe said the 2 SKU came by him and the release of 2nd HALF OF 2024

He confirmed around the 18-20 minute mark that the information is very similar to something he heard from a fair while ago. Basically I see it as:so far, it seems like the info we got from your(?) leak could be a mixture of true and false, based off of natedrake's podcast today. which, honestly, if you're taking a shot in the dark and hit targets on fairly apparent prospects, anyone could have done lol.
from what i'm hearing, both of them on the podcast are saying "it makes sense" rather than "i can 100% confirm" so, it's nothing especially new. again, unless i'm hearing wrong.

Are we handling rumors as facts again?
That's a no no.
I think Nate’s words hold a lot more water compared to a private video or whatever research people are doing. Are we handling rumors as facts again?

Where would Nintendo get an expandable storage solution though that matches the speed of their internal storage for the Switch 2? SD-cards haven't really evolved since the OG Switch's release. Physical game carts are the most logical solution if Nintendo has to keep the internal storage capacity low to reduce costs. (Also physical is still very popular in Japan and i believe in Europe too)Disclaimer: I do not want this to be true.
Why didn't anyone think of this before? It makes so much more sense of the original rumor, and MAY BE something Nintendo would do. At the very least we can bet they considered/are considering it.
Kill physical games entirely! But... why? Well if their next system is rocking a fast internal drive so they can get rid of those load speeds and enable different game design ala PS5, getting a game card to match is going to be pricey, and depending on the speed they want to hit, impossible? Heck current Switch game cards are already too pricey! So this leaves Nintendo with a choice. $70 (or more?) games? They tested the waters with Zelda, seemed to do okay. But they can't do that for all their games, can they? Also with NG development game sizes are going up up up which means even bigger game cards and even more $... going digital only solves it all. They can keep their pricing at $59 for big titles and $49 for smaller ones, WHILE making more profit per game. It's basically pure profit.
Which leads us to the 2 models and the confusing rumor. Actually both models have BC, digitally! Only one of them has a card slot for physical BC. That model is the "premium" model that also has probably a couple other features to distinguish it.
There's no real reason to believe in a Q1 launch and Q2 launches are extremely rare.
a ton of bets bout to be lost and a ton of these avatars bout to infest the board
It's over bros...
I think Nate’s words hold a lot more water compared to a private video or whatever research people are doing.
we are both H2-truthers it seems but, to be frank, nate never said he 100% believes in an H2 release. he simply said he heard rumors of an H2 release but was not well acquainted with the source and couldn't completely corroborate it.I think Nate’s words hold a lot more water compared to a private video or whatever research people are doing.
im curious for digital only users how do you handle the storage space problems do you buy big sd cards or something?I wouldn’t mind saving some money skipping a cartridge slot I wouldn’t use anyway
Exactly I trust nate other leakers Im skeptical on but nate has been reliable for a long whileI think Nate’s words hold a lot more water compared to a private video or whatever research people are doing.
He literally said he couldnt validate it from other sources lol
He’s been saying for longest he’s heard it’s coming H2. He’s telling us what he’s heard from sources. Nothing is truth until Nintendo says so, but he has a better track record than a private video.we are both H2-truthers it seems but, to be frank, nate never said he 100% believes in an H2 release. he simply said he heard rumors of an H2 release but was not well acquainted with the source and couldn't completely corroborate it.

The physical model should continue existing, no? I don't think you can say they're abandoning them when the other two manufacturers are literally doing the same thing, Nintendo has the most incentive to present one of these to the market due to their own circumstances. Even then, the split between digital and physical PS5's for example is extremely leaning towards the later, so most users would just take it as another option. The problem is Nintendo has always relied on stores to stock their stuff as well. If they start abandoning them there is no going back, so they'd have to be pretty damn confident that they don't need physical store advertisement anymore.

Still, it shouldn't be treated as fact. A lot of people made that mistake about the late 22 early 23 rumour.I think Nate’s words hold a lot more water compared to a private video or whatever research people are doing.
Dunno, i do think Eurogamer stating that Nintendo's indeed trying to launch earlier than H2 is pretty valid too, as it shouldn't fall under "private video" or whatever people research. ;]
"latter part of the year" means "late in the year" not "second half of the year."
Nope, we're NOT going to argue about semantics.
It simply doesn't mean what you want it to mean.
I mostly buy physical, have a big sd card, and I have issues with space. I dunno how digital only people do it I hate having to constantly delete and redownload stuff.im curious for digital only users how do you handle the storage space problems do you buy big sd cards or something?
Any tldr?
Yep.Pretty sure RR is a feature only available in DLSS 3.5 or up, so it has to be >= 3.5
Not having digital switch BC on the digital only version of Switch 2 whilst having full BC on the physical cartridge version of the system is a great way to make your consumers have no faith at all in your digital games going forward. It's just an ass backwards way of doing things. Digital only should be BC with digital games and the physical cartridge version should be BC with everything.
UFS, by definition, isn't proprietaryYou're buying proprietary UFS 3.1 expandable storage next gen for the low low price of 512 GBs for $250.
I know that. but the "3.5" is just SDK stuff. it doesn't actually tell you what a game is usingPretty sure RR is a feature only available in DLSS 3.5 or up, so it has to be >= 3.5
Edit: yep.

Whatever DLSS version was used at Gamescom is not interesting imo.Pretty sure RR is a feature only available in DLSS 3.5 or up, so it has to be >= 3.5
