Direct delayed when eartquake, Direct almost delayed when Shinzo Abe. Why is everything happening where Direct is almost here? Directs are better than this world it seems.
 
What if the queen never dies and Nintendo never does a direct again because they keep delaying it until she's officially dead though...
 
That can't be serious, right? She isn't even dead yet. What are they planning on doing if she remains in poor health for an extended period of time? TGS certainly isn't gonna be delayed, so are they just gonna leave their partners out to dry? Isn't that the whole point of hosting the direct before TGS in the first place?

I dunno, I just don't buy this one. I get that the Queen's health is a major world event, but there's just too much going on otherwise for me to think Nintendo would alter their plans this drastically so soon.
 
poor nintendo should've tried to get ahead of splatoon 3 instead of waiting until the last minute

I can't wait for the September Direct in October. Sounds like an American football game branding, where they have shit like Thursday Night Football on Saturday.

Because of a devastating earthquake? Of course. Delay it however long is needed. Because some old imperialistic monarch finally bit the bullet? Come on now.

edited: joke was not appropriate. I sure hope there is a direct, but directs have been delayed for similar reasons

This is super weird and I'll believe it when I (don't) see it BUT it would honestly be PERFECT timing for me if they delay it to in 2 weeks. Would make me very happy to then see DK, DQ and Ribbit King thank you thank you

the earthquake delay was probably out of respect, but I imagine this time it's an entirely pragmatic decision. deserved or not, the whole world will stop when the queen of england dies. nintendo would much rather show zelda when people are around to see it

It's likely true because the entire world covers the Queen. This would fill the news for weeks just like Princess Diana's death did. This would likely mean no Direct in September at all most likely. So yeah this is disappointing. I still remember all of the massive amounts of coverage for princess Diana. Nintendo won't want to compete with that.

To be honest, we don't have any official info and I doubt Nintendo has that too. For now, I just assume that September 13th is happening, if nothing comes till the announcement of the Direct and few hours before airing we are probably good to go.
 
Delaying a Direct due to a devastating earthquake is a far cry from delaying one because a horrible, decrepit person has both feet in the grave. I get it from the world coverage point of view, but it better not be due to any moral grandstanding.

the cool thing about the direct not being announced yet is that they don't have to pretend that they care about the queen
