Based on my quick research, the general proceedings will last around 10 days for this, with the funeral being held on the 10th day. Not sure how long things will be at a standstill beyond that, but that would mean the best case scenario for a direct is 2 weeks from now, and it could easily slip further out.

Personally i dont buy the queen’s passing would delay a direct (seems pretty much to have no correlation imo) but since I wasn’t feeling one would be necessary anytime soon anyhow (ninty’s schedule is packed) I’d not mind if it was just a partner showcase in the end lol

Or late September like last year. We aren’t starving for content

Doesn’t Nintendo only have little to no presence at TGS? They usually use it for timing of the Direct but I don’t know if it has much importance aside from that

It's about the 3rd parties, who typically announce their stuff at directs and then go into detail at TGS. Not having a direct would throw those plans for a loop. Devs would have to announce stuff on their own, which they probably don't want to do either given how much exposure a direct nets them alongside the bad optics that Nintendo is trying to avoid themselves.

September 1st was always better. Furukawa, Takahashi and all the desicion makers we would have it by now. And Splatoon is releasing tomorrow, poor Splatoon too.
 
I’m so confused, obviously we don’t know for sure if the direct will be delayed, but quarterdan is the one who said a direct this week and was clearly proven wrong. So like…his info isn’t reliable. Why all the panic?

Worship of monarchy will never sit well with me. It weirds me the f out.

It also bums me out that more people I know IRL care (unironically) about it than I realized.
