yes, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is in fact an open-world remake of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. that's why Nintendo had to rerelease the original on both NSO and Game & Watch

This seems to be a trend with Koei Tecmo games. Kaiju Monster Rancher was also not on the western Version of the June Direct this year.

More of an out loud question, but I wonder what the longest time period is that Nintendo has sat on a game before releasing it after it went gold (with or without an official announcement and reveal). Obviously real world events with the ongoing aggression against Ukraine would impact it heavily, but given the resources spent on making these games surely they'd want to recoup costs at some point.
