Does anyone know if the Goldeneye remake is still happening? I remember earlier in the year most people were speculating that it would be released on the 25th anniversary, but that came and went with nothing.

Is this still happening? Seems like Goldeneye on NSO would make for a nice Direct announcement.
Yes, it is still happening.

Someone earlier was saying the reason it's not out yet is the same as Advance Wars.

There hasn't been a post in 25 minutes the dream is dead
You should consider yourself lucky I've been confining most of my posting to the general thread these days.

Otherwise we definitely wouldn't go 25 minutes without a post but also nothing I post would be on topic.

I think that person was Nate on the spawncast lol
Eh I mean many of us have been saying it has to be the case for months now. The majority of the game is set in Russia and many of the playable characters are Russian.

Regarding the LOZ ports, has any leaker/insider mentioned whether Twilight Princess' graphics got a boost? It looked ok-ish on the Wii U but I was hoping for better at the time, and I wonder if it's going to look better on Switch.

Nate mentioned the potential ports in the podcast, but it's still unknown if they will release at all. Certainly, there has been an annual Zelda release for the last decade or so, and September would be a good time to announce them.

I've not seen or heard anything about remastering or enhancements...

I don't think anyone has publicly shared any technical information about TP/WW for Switch besides the fact that they exist.

7 pages in the last few hours. What’s going on crew!?

So general Directs are announced the day before these days right? So we’re not expecting an announcement tomorrow if I’ it’s the first, correct?

No, it's normally two days before. So the announcement would have to be tomorrow if it's this week.
Not sure what time zone you are in, but where I’m from (ET) it’s always the day before for General Directs (unless E3).

February 9, 2022 > revealed Feb 8
September 23, 2021 > revealed Sep 22
February 17, 2021 > revealed Feb 16

Sometimes they announce a Direct two days in advance, but they haven't done that in a while.

Everything lately has been two days before. The Splatoon Direct, the treehouse, the Partner Showcase, and the Xenoblade Direct were announced two days ahead of time. I'm expecting the same here.

In any case, if Sept 1 is the real deal then the announcement would have to be tomorrow (later today if you're European or from the other half of the world) or Wednesday.

It's funny. Tommy Lee Jones looked like he was having the time of his life in Batman Forever but now we know from Jim Carrey he was a stick in the mud. He really is no fun allowed personified.
And the older I get, the more I feel I understand him.

Magic Man is right for at least west coast US, just checked on Twitter.

Tomorrow or bust for this week. Good luck team September 1st.

Edit: Everything was two days prior except the Mini partner showcase which was one day.

I see your point that it has been this way as of late. But you must bear in mind that these were not General Directs, which I believe will continue to follow the one-day reveal-to-release structure.

I think Nintendo might be doing something weird where if it’s not a General, they’ll reveal it two days prior. Maybe to gain more press?… I’m not sure of the reason.

Now you could be entirely right that Nintendo has changed to a two-day reveal structure, for EVERY type of presentation. If this is the case, then you’d be correct to expect a reveal tomorrow.

But if it is dependent on the type of presentation, then I maintain that it will be a Wednesday reveal (assuming it’s this week).

I guess only time will tell which theory is correct.

I honestly hope you’re right because I’d LOVE a reveal tomorrow lol

Tomorrow is some kind of judgment day, methinks. If there's nothing this week, then there's probably also nothing next week as Nintendo would probably want all eyes on Splatoon.

Team 9/14 wya

Wait… so now we’re all expecting a reveal TOMORROW? I thought the plan was to reset the clock for Wednesday :/

Ok, well, I’m willing to play by your rules. See you tomorrow at 9 AM ET!

(Or is it 10? I can never remember…)

It's technically 9AM, but it can be announced any time during the day.

If they don’t announce any event tomorrow then that’s a good thing, because Wednesday announcement is what we’re expecting and obviously if they announce any kind of a event for later this week, then Sept 1st is screwed.

Hi, longtime lurker here. I appreciate all the antics and detective work this community brings to Direct speculation, even if I choose to remain mostly on the sidelines.

I've noticed that Kirby and the Forgotten Land DLC and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes DLC both don't seem to be common expectations for an upcoming Direct or Twitter drop. Anyone with me in thinking there's a chance we could see these before the year ends?

I have some hope for Kirby because of how Star Allies was updated and how games like Metroid Dread received updates, garnering headlines and potentially later sales. For Fire Emblem Warriors, I know the DLC would have typically been announced by now based on past Nintendo Warriors titles, but given that every previous collaboration got extensive DLC, I have a hard time letting go of the possibility of at least a singular expansion releasing. If 2022 ends with no talk of either, I'll accept these aren't happening. However, for now, I stay hopeful we could see more for each game.

I have just skimmed through the last ~10 pages and omg THE CHAOS
I’m glad we are again on the hype train for a general tho
Hoping in an announcement on Wednesday 🤞🏻

Eh, just because it's been this way recently doesn't mean that'll always be the case. Notably, February, the last General Direct, was announced a day before

So while a Direct could well be announced tomorrow, I wouldn't say it's tomorrow or bust. Wednesday is still very much on the table if tomorrow doesn't pan out (provided a Thursday Direct, of course)

Treated myself after work tonight to Regal's RPX screening of Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition with 4 friends. Great times. Now I'm sleepy and ready to irresponsibly hype tomorrow and reset the clock for Wednesday!

Also, Jaws hits IMAX this weekend too, and I'm definitely going to have to see that on the big screen. Then I'll see either Bodies Bodies Bodies or Three Thousand Years of Longing.
