So October has No Man's Sky, Bayonetta 3, Mario + Rabbids 2, and Nier: Automata?

What the hell am I supposed to do here, Nintendo?

What an insane second half the Switch is going to have! I honestly think it's the first time in my life as a Nintendo gamer that I won't have enough time to play all games I want that are coming out during the same month.

Best trailer yet... but I still can't believe they changed the voice actors.
Yeah, unless there’s some story shenanigans going on this really does sour me a little on the game. Same happened with MGSV. I’m sure the new VA will do a good job but her performance can never be the same.
A tip for you and others:

You don’t have to buy a game on the date it comes out.
This is true, but many people do value the launch day experience and/or don’t want to avoid spoilers. Personally I’m getting the game later because I just can’t fit it into my money or time budget at that point, and it does suck.

Did we get confirmation that Jon is Sylux? Or is it purely based on the date? Sometimes y'all go from "here's this theory" to "this is FACT" and without going through every page I can't tell whether there's new info or not

if you don't believe in the july twitter direct at this point I don't know what would convince you
Giving people the ability to change their vote was always the coward's way out. I am proudly sticking to my now-clearly-incorrect "July 11-15 with DLSS Hardware"

Nice. I have Bayonetta 2 already with the download code of 1 but I think I will get 1 also physicial. Throwing the money around lets go. And I will get that collectors edition for sure.

And Persona 5 as well :p. That said those games do not really overlap with each other. Maybe NieR has some overlap with Persona in some way.

Was confused about the bundled covers at first but:

So awesome they're releasing a physical of that too! It looks like the art book for the collectors edition can store the physical releases side by side too! The covers look different with what they show on the Japanese site, and the physical edition from the tweet you just shared from Europe, but hopefully they all match up for each region!

Nintendo could’ve put these few extra first party announcements into the Partners Direct and called it a regular Mini. The way they’re doling this all out tells me Switch Pro is coming.

She is never actually referred to as Bayonetta in either trailer because she's likely Cereza grown up.
Okay maybe, but why make a game around that? I don't know. Throw the multiverse in there and maybe everything will make glorious sense in the end. ^__^

I think Metroid Prime 1HD will be a January game, Nintendo considers the start of January still holidays so it wouldn't conflict with the information we have from insiders

so like the idea was always that as a week passed the people from that week would choose their next guess and so on

but uh no one did that

and then a direct was pretty much ruled out by all the tweets so y'know

Metroid Prime Remaster will he announced on Twitter this month at the rate we’re going

you ar half jokin', I bet
I'm no insider, but I've been told that they (Nintendo) hasn't finished yet with their "Summer-long" Direct lol

at least I think we are getting Mario Kart DLC second pack news before the end of July, a new Pokémon S/V trailer and possibly or Advance Wars 1+2 new date or Metroid Prime HD reveal

I think that after Bayonetta, those 2 will complete 2022 Nintendo first/second party lineup.

What's really peculiar about this is that they could've literally just added this new trailer, yesterday's Kirby game, the next wave of Mario Kart tracks and the assumed Metroid Prime HD trailer into the partner direct a couple of weeks ago and it would've been an amazing general Direct.

Even ignoring Metroid Prime in case it isn't real and with just those 3 added you can comfortably have a standard 35-40 minute Direct.

I wonder what their reasoning is for separating it all.
I don't think they would a General Direct with this, they would need at least one new EPD game or show a big portion of Zelda.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about Persona 5 because I am not gonna get that one! But wow, what a month!

Good luck to anyone who wants all those games plus Persona 5. :p

And yeah, it's nice that there is very little overlap between them. I guess Nier has a bit of Persona in it and also a bit of Bayonetta's action, but that's it.

Curious what slots between Bayo and Splatoon. 6 weeks of nothing in the heart of shopping season is suspicious. I’d love to say Metroid Prime but that would be 2 core titles in one month, and nothing for the family.

Nintendo's schedule has Splatoon 3 on September 9th, and then Mario Rabbids on October 20th.
It's weirdly empty in late September/early October, honestly. I really think there is some title releasing in that timeframe they still need to announce.

If you aren't a big fan of JRPGs, this year has been incredibly weak.
Pokémon Legends, Triangle Strategy, Kirby, Switch Sports, Mario Strikers, Fire Emblem:3Hopes, MH:Sunbreak, Live A Live, Xeno3, Splatoon 3, Kirby Fall Guys, Mario Rabbids, Bayo3, Pokémon S/V

I’ll be honest not sure if Pokémon is considered a JRPG but even if it is I count 4 JRPGs out of 14 games

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what it is. At this point going off recent history we arent getting a Direct until September. They had their “E3 show” with the third party direct and it’s been quiet on all fronts since. I don’t think Nintendo has ever done anything in August historically that wasn’t an Indie or game focused event and we’re essentially halfway through July.
Aaaand it was a tweet lol 😬

I think they just wanted to set the expectations for the Direct.
People would have expected BotW2 in a full direct and the disappointement about its absence would have been the talk of the town,
instead of the games shown.
Doing it like this had a lot of people talk about how great this partner showcase was,
(even though the bar is low)
and now they drop all the other first party announcements over the course of the next months and gather more excitement along the way.

I remember that even when Switch Lite was released, there was a concentration of releases 🤔

So I noticed that NoA twitter still has nothing pinned. Is this something to read into? Saw that Europe and UK have the Kirby related tweets pinned not the partner direct

Let’s hope they do one and two in cheaper retail packages like they did in Wii U when they only sold the second. Would hate for 1 physical to be $60.
Yeah, I hope so too! It'd be cool just to display all three together like that, but I'd rather not plop down $60 for each, haha! Still looking around for anyone doing preorders for physical, but nothing yet, just to see if any pricing is out there at the moment!

I dunno, I think it's pretty obvious Splatoon 3 was originally scheduled to be released in June, considering it and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 literally swapped places.

Earlier this year the information that 'Splatoon 3 is aiming for a June release' was correct.
*July. It was never in June because of Strikers.

It is.
And FE3Hopes is a sequel to one, so it's pretty much just for fans of that aswell.
Mario & Rabbids is not a jrpg, but an RPG.
I count 8 games for RPG fans.

So I get where they are coming from.

Glad to have a release date for Bayonetta 3 with no delay. October is stacked though, hope the game will do fine.
Hopefully the rumored Pokémon SV trailer is tomorrow. Maybe Syluxhunter can give us the good news :p

Yea it is a matter of opinion so I get it, 3Hopes though is definitely a warriors game but I guess if you hate RPGs of any kind you still wouldn’t like it.

They overlap to me in the sense I want to get them all (including persona).... But I'll only get bayo 3 of the October releases at launch, and maybe this whole year, because my wallet does not allow more than that. Also NMS I'll only get if they add the multiplayer component to the switch version.

Rad, stoked to have a confirmed date for Bayonetta and a hefty art book.

Tbh I can see why Kamiya is annoyed about his game being relegated to a Twitter drop, though

new, more realistic hype rankings

1. anything Splatoon 3
2. Everybody's 1-2 Switch
3. Mario Kart DLC
4. Nintendo Switch Sports update
5. Kirby's Dream Buffet release date (lol, lmao)
6. Bayonetta 3 release date
Raccoon moment

Splatoon 3 late June, Xenoblade 3 late September and Kirby August would've made for the perfect schedule, but Splatoon and Xenoblade obviously had some shuffling done. I think that's why the arrangement of RPGs and the weird gaps exists.

Noticed this (15:00 my time) is earlier than previous announcements (16:00 my time) ?

I mean, the Partner Direct was 16:00 my time iirc.

So if this is the new time for these Twitter Direct drops, it would be funny to me because I'm on the train then, and 15:00 is around where I have to get off, so if something hype like MPHD or a Zelda Direct announcement drops, I'm gonna dance across the platform and people will look at me.

Things Nintendo probably has for the rest of this year that does not have a date, in order from most to least likely actually happening this year

Advance Wars 1 + 2 Reboot Camp

Metroid Prime 1 But In HD This Time

Wind Waker in HD

Twilight Princess in HD

lotta things to put dates on but they're all remakes/remasters so they could be twitter drops

I'll happily call myself Chaotic Good
