That said those games do not really overlap with each other. Maybe NieR has some overlap with Persona in some way.
I'd argue Nier and Persona overlap being very Anime and RPGs.
It's basically spring 2017 on PS4 all over again.
And Bayo 3 and Nier are both fast paced Platinum games.
I don't have money and time for all 3 of those.
Especially if I want to get that Bayonetta Collectors Edition.
And I already played Nier and the original Persona 5.
Otherwise that would be harder for me.

Mario Rabbids interests me to but that can wait.
It's not like Mario won't sell.
Bayonetta needs my support more.

It's 2020 all over again, with some improvements. At this point I don't think it's as reasonable as it was to expect a September Direct this year. Not saying it won't happen, but it's looking a lot less likely.

Splatoon 3 late June, Xenoblade 3 late September and Kirby August would've made for the perfect schedule, but Splatoon and Xenoblade obviously had some shuffling done. I think that's why the arrangement of RPGs and the weird gaps exists.
Nintendo has such a huge issue with their scheduling. Live A Live and Xenoblade should not be a week apart. They shouldn’t have released two online sports titles right after each other (Switch sports and Strikers), etc. I mean they always do a lot of confusing things but their scheduling has definitely been one of them

Yeah it’s just Nintendo first party month. I’m definitely expecting Metroid Prime Remaster to be announced this month.

And that will clear the table for all the big games that haven’t been announced for next year…

So I noticed that NoA twitter still has nothing pinned. Is this something to read into? Saw that Europe and UK have the Kirby related tweets pinned not the partner direct
Haha, I'm curious why too! It seems like they've been lagging behind on tweeting too. Maybe they're training someone new, haha, or just wanting to get inside all of our heads, which is working! :ROFLMAO:

This is amazing, haha! :ROFLMAO: Depending on the day...chaotic good, true neutral, and lawful evil, haha!
Noticed this (15:00 my time) is earlier than previous announcements (16:00 my time) ?

I mean, the Partner Direct was 16:00 my time iirc.

So if this is the new time for these Twitter Direct drops, it would be funny to me because I'm on the train then, and 15:00 is around where I have to get off, so if something hype like MPHD or a Zelda Direct announcement drops, I'm gonna dance across the platform and people will look at me.

Please dont give any more attention to these "nintendo leakers" because they got a date, that like 2, that was predictable.
Considering 10/28 is just a week after Mario + Rabbids, it certainly wouldn't have been my first prediction. I would've guessed early October, early November, or early December.

I am true good neutral lawful.
I just want the games, they will come whenever, I don't care for all this new hardware talk cause I'd rather just use what I have
And I don't need "Big" games, cause the games other people call big aren't the same for me.

Bayonetta 3, Nier, and Persona 5 in the same month lord have mercy.

Sometimes it’s good to be a shut-in with no social life.

Clears the way to September, where they can announce Switch Pro and highlight some of their 2023 lineup. All in.

Would not be bad to have no 2022 announcment in the september direct? I think they better keep Prime and Advance Wars date as 2022 remaining games
September directs typically don't have any same year announcements. Not having any 2022 announcements wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. They can get by on 2023 announcements and 2022 updates.

I think Sept is too late for a 2022 release, August makes a lot more sense to avoid as much as possible leaks
This is the same company that announced Super Mario 3D All-Stars just two weeks in advance of a physical release. Hardware is obviously different from software, but I don't think Nintendo cares that much about jumping the gun on leaks.

Plus, if it was August, I doubt we'd be getting a 1st party Twitter direct right now. At that point, just save everything for next month.

Let's think about things by WEEK NUMBERS because that's a good way to think about/visualize video game release date spread/openings

NEXT WEEK is WEEK 30 (W30) of 2022.

W30 - Live A Live
W31 - Xenoblade Chronicles 3
W32 -
W33 -
W34 -
W35 -
W36 -
W37 - Splatoon 3
W38 -
W39 -

W43 - Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
W44 - Bayonetta 3

W46 -
W47 - Pokémon Scarlet/Violet
W48 -
W49 -
W50 -
W51 -
W52 - The Week Before Christmas/New Years
W53 - Christmas/New Years

TBH there's not THAT many big wide openings to drop other stuff. I could see Metroid Prime HD dropping in early December (W49 or so) and AW1+2 is a bit of a wild card.

I fully believe we get more 1st party announcements this month. I'm just not totally convinced one of them will be Metroid Prime HD.

I can see that. My only counter would be that given that different audiences between M+R and Bayo there is no harm. Sorta like having a plate off cheese with some wine on the side

Whilst it is weird, Nintendo very likely had little-to-no input on Live a Live’s final release date.

Why isn’t Bayonetta 2 getting a reprint :(
Hm, I wonder if they might, just for art's sake with that collection, haha! At least I'd like that, haha!

Some real great gaming going on there! Enjoy it and have a blast!
Apologies yes, July. Mixing up my 'Ju' months.

Going through and reading all their tweets, they got;
  • Feb direct date
  • Mario Kart DLC
  • Kirby mouthful mode
  • Cyberpunk next gen update
  • Advance Wars delay
  • Third party direct last week
  • Persona ports
  • Bayonetta 3 release date
  • Bayonetta news specifically announcing today
All correct

Only things wrong thus far
  • Splatoon release (but we'll never know its true originally planned release date)
  • Goldeneye remaster (could still exist though)

They might not be Miyamoto's butler, but it looks like they at least have a somewhat decent source.
Good rundown!

There’s also little stuff to sneak in like Kirby. Probably GB/GBA (we hope) between Splatoon and Rabbids.

Nintendo non-pokemon game in Nov/early Dec has been a staple of the Switch era so probably in that slot Prime 1 HD will release if it releases this year

Sony announced the PS4 Po in September and released it 2 months later in November.

Also if we go by the uncle, the Pro is in Production. So everything points to a 2022 release when going by these points.
Right. If it’s in production is true, then I don’t see how it won’t come this year.

Given that we're getting Bayonetta 3 and Sparks of Hope within a week of each other, I think pretty much anything is on the table.
I think Bayonetta 3 and M+R have such wildly different target demos that I don't think they're necessarily competing with each other, and I think Nintendo thinks this way too.

This is indeed a neat way to organise things.

The question is, would they really be able to slot in something other thank Kirby in those big September/August slots, since we're already in July?

My doubt is more about the event being in Sept than hardware coming this year, PS4 Pro/Slim leaked before release a lot I think Nintendo will want to avoid as many leaks as possible like they always do in hardware, that's why I think August fits better. They are 'cleaning' all Switch OG games releasing this year this month to prepare for Drake announcement next month

Wait so now MP1 Remake is more likely to be shown, as soon as this week? Where does that come from?
Are you sure they wouldn't keep this to showcase Drake (even though it's certainly cross-gen)?

Maybe a remaster or something like that, but nothing substantial. Look out for Windwaker.

There is a chance that is the case really, we will see it soon anyway.

I don’t disagree, but not everything left to be dated overlaps all that much either. If they’re willing to do it once, no reason they can’t do it again.
