My hypothesis right now, if we do get Bayo 3 and Pokemon stuff soon, is that BotW2’s delay caused a significant shift in marketing plans. It’s ‘the’ big Nintendo game right now and I doubt Nintendo would have ever wanted the hit that came from another big Direct with none, or little, BotW2 presence.

So we won’t get another big event until BotW2 is ready to be shown off (likely due to simple marketing plans at this point, I doubt the game is that far behind technically). The Pro? I’m not factoring it in. I can’t find it in myself to believe it’s happening this year, if at all.

On the upside, with the heavy hitting Gamecube ports out of the way, between Sunshine, Prime and WW/TP, now there's time for Custom Robo to make it's glorious comeback! Eventually!

...eventually

That's been at least part of my theory for a while. I'm sure there's tons of other factors and things of course too, though. But E3 not happening gave Nintendo the perfect excuse to not have to worry about it and just wait until September if they wanted to.

There's still the question of new hardware mixed up in all of it, but I think this is as good a theory as any too.

Trinkets, odds and ends. That sorta thing. Some people call this junk. Me? I call it treasure - Belethor
im sorry but this absolute banger of a post isnt going to get the love it deserves on the bottom of the last page. What a fatal mistake i've made

So we could be looking at Splatoon 3 and maybe Zelda ports in Sept, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime in October, and Pokémon in November? Not too bad.

Can someone fill me in on why we are still expecting Zelda ports?
Because people aren't creative or optimistic enough to entertain the idea of new games.

And of course because Zelda is now an annual franchise so there's likely something Zelda releasing this year.

I still think it’s that E3 was cancelled. Even if BOTW was delayed. They would’ve shown a general direct this June alongside E3.

They had their development update video already before June. By then we would’ve all speculated no BOTW trailer again. They did that before.

I honestly think it was no E3. No party

Cotton: We got a lot of pretend insiders going all in on the 13th.

Pepper: It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for them.
I’ll always remember Mugiwara. He went all in and is soon to lose all his organs on his 7/13 prediction. These other fake insiders play it too safe.

Because Nintendo has had something Zelda each year of the Switch, but so far we have nothing this year. 2017 - BotW, 2018 - Hyrule Warrirors, 2019 - LA, 2020 - HW: AoC, 2021 - SS HD

With seemingly no more Holiday titles to come it really makes you wonder what's the deal with EPD 8, 9, 10
Some people keep denying it, but I think it's obvious Nintendo is sitting out on some games that are ready to release

There's no way a new 2D or 3D Mario for example would take 6 years to be ready

This just sounds unlikely. So, in the event the game is not ready to be shown until say next June, are they gonna really solely on Twitter & partner showcases? Companies pay for spots in Directs so you’ll tell them that there are no General Directs for the foreseeable future?

Truly raised the bar, if you can't gamble your organs can you call yourself human?

Bayonetta 3 finally coming out.

Can’t believe it’s been 5 years.

And just like that. That’s all I have to say, absolute zero interest in that game. I had more fun with the whole lead voice actor thing then playing Bayonetta.

Some series are just not for me.

At Nintendo Co., Ltd. (Japan), we want to create a work environment that supports and empowers each and every one of our unique employees.

We introduced the Partnership System in March 2021 as one initiative based on this philosophy. Although same-sex marriages are not currently recognized under Japanese law, this system ensures employees who are in a domestic partnership with a same-sex partner have the same benefits as employees in an opposite-sex marriage. We have also established that a common-law marriage between couples will be observed in the same way as a legal marriage.

In the Code of Conduct for our employees, we had already established that “we do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, nationality, ideology, religion, creed, origin, social status, class, occupation, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity,” prohibiting all forms of discrimination. In addition to introducing the Partnership System, we revised our internal regulations regarding harassment to clearly prohibit discriminatory comments based on sexual orientation or gender identity, as well as disclosing someone's privately held sexual orientation against their will.

Alongside the introduction of the Partnership System in Japan, we notified our employees about the issue of gender diversity with a message from our President as a means of raising awareness of what diversity means. In this message, the President called for all employees to adopt a renewed understanding that even speech and actions, which are not intended to harm, can cause significant emotional pain, asking for understanding and support to create an environment in which everyone can work comfortably.

By improving our company systems and conducting training, we will continue our work to create an environment where each of our many diverse employees can fully realize their talents.

Here's a funny thing: July 13th is a Full Moon day

Loona the rhythm game exclusive to Nintendo Switch announcement?!??

Loona is a Kpop group who’s fans have used the moon patterns to predict announcements from them in the past leading to both the joy of being correct and the despair of being wrong, much like this forum :p

Hey. Some good news for once. Now let’s hope they start showing it more in their games in a respectable manner.

Start it in the workplace. Expand it to the work itself

Fake leak: this is purely made up btw.

its Called Nintendo Event Presentation. Emphasis on Nintendo
first week of August.

nintendo Switch Enhanced

games showcase, games like super Mario odyssey will run better on the new system. Nintendo was careful not to name it switch 2. It will be shipped in docked only mode, with no screen, much like a console. The same size as OLED dock, and with portability options for another variant. Think the two variants of PlayStation 5. the portable variant is only slightly more expensive. The dock only system is to entice all gamer demographics, as surveys have revealed that a sizable amount up people play dock only.

first game: super Mario voyages - sequel to odyssey. the name odyssey 2 doesn’t have a great ring to it, so they decided to go with something that sounds familiar. Draw distances much better on enhanced. Enhanced allows for bigger levels, that don’t need to be sectioned of into various smaller groupings like in odyssey.

Donkey Kong : jungle uproar
3D game, more emphasis on swinging between trees in a 3D perspective, and jumping through hurdles like an acrobat. Time went into studying the movement of various apes to create a satisfying gameplay loop, and reference for movements. The game is fast, and at time feels like it’s on-rails, because the space of movement is limited like a race track. Performs better on enhanced.

just something made up for fun.

I just remembered the Snitch.

Unable to get Nintendo stuff.

So. Anyways, I’ll be working at my new job soon so Xenoblade Might be until the week after Release 😭

Everybody's 1-2 Switch remains my most anticipated announcement

that game is going to be fucking weird and I'm excited for it
See, I'm not sure we should be expecting weird. I'm just expecting boring

It's a 1-2 Switch sequel, for crying out loud. That's not exactly the type of game I'd call weird (besides some of the advertisements for it) or exciting

I still think it’s that E3 was cancelled. Even if BOTW was delayed. They would’ve shown a general direct this June alongside E3.
That's likely part of it, but I think the lack of BotW2 was the final nail in that coffin, so to speak. Them having a big flashy Direct without BotW2 would have been like Sony having a big flashy presentation without GoW: Ragnarok; it would have caused more backlash overall than simply not having a major Direct this month, and for little reason if the game's due for release Spring 2023 anyway.

This just sounds unlikely. So, in the event the game is not ready to be shown until say next June, are they gonna really solely on Twitter & partner showcases? Companies pay for spots in Directs so you’ll tell them that there are no General Directs for the foreseeable future?
I mean, this is all based on the notion that BotW2 actually is a Spring 2023 title. In which case, a September 2022 or Jan/February 2023 're-reveal' would definitely make sense. If BotW2 is really that far behind that we won't see it until 2023 then, yeah, it's probably not true; but I think that such a thing is even more unlikely.

Can you explain for yourself why Nintendo is doing this with its 1st Party Stuff? I mean every other company like Sony, MS etc. would care to have their 1st party titles in the brightest spotlight as possible. Nintendo just scraps it Direct for Twitter drops? Feels really like 2020, but back then we were in highest of COVID.
Didn't Sony reveal God of War's date on a random blogpost?

Are we getting anything in August? I know it's not unusual to have a gap but it feels odd that August is so empty rn
Splatoon 3's pre-release stuff, maybe a direct and a testfire, Kirby's Dream Course will launch, and there will be some smaller stuff.
