I think the Switch 2 will be presented next week, and since it will have backwards compatibility, we will see games that were already announced without a problem.

Let's get hyped to be disappointed!
 
Long time lurker and just joined because of all the hype being generated!

I am looking forward to its reveal mainly because of the software. I am in neeeeed of the next Fire Emblem, Xeno, Metroid and Mario Kart haha

To be honest, I don't think NOA is doing any marketing for the reveal of thr Switch 2. If you were the deadly Hokage Ninja of Nintendo what would you do? You search through the internet, find clues and patterns on the leakers and you would notice something in common. The majority of leaks happen near marketing. I am 80% sure they have an external company working on it. If not they probably have some crazy deal where a handful of employees will reveal the system and if any word gets out all of the select employees will get fired. Idk, just a thought.

Three systems are (rumoured) to be released around the same time this year. Let's recap, shall we?

Xbox Series X Digital/Slim - The Xbox Series X but digital only and smaller
PlayStation 5 Pro - A more powerful PS5, but if it's the same as the PS4 Pro, it won't have any exclusives.
Nintendo Switch 2 - A next-gen system

If Nintendo were releasing a Switch 2 Pro alongside the PlayStation 6, it would be the same; the hype would lean heavily towards a PS6, and that's understandable because it's a new system, just like the Switch 2.

It's very similar to how people worried about the Switch because the PS4 Pro was released a few months beforehand and the Xbox One X the holiday after.
 
Switch 2 Pro is a meme to me tbh, wait could the possibly make that will make the jump to the pro worth the r&d and the customers money? The nodes won’t get better without being extremely expensive for a switch device.

Yep, if they really do launch on 4nm, there's no way there will be a pro imo.

Drake will be a very power efficient soc. The tech to double/ triple power efficiency probably won't exist in a while.

I just want the Switch 2 so I can play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at 4K. Especially so I can hang out permanently inside Uraya.

Ones an amazing game that I'd a single entry but hey at least it's great.
The other is Bethesda jank that took too long to make and didn't live up to any of its promises.

I read tweets from this guy since 2018 and he is the spanish samus hunter. I remember that before all his fake leaks tweets ended with "....👀" lol

Switch 2 is an eldritch abomination CONFIRMED. The main gimmick: it steals happiness from unsuspecting victims to transfer it to those playing on the console.

Well...What if I told you this website was monitored by both Wallstreet insiders and to a lesser degree, SEC personnel? (Hey Jason!) What we do here isn't illegal of course but when you have a rando come in and start riling people up about a stock or rumor then they tend to get a little frowny face after what happened with bitcoin and GME. I get it. Its one thing to say "Here is what the stock did" and another to say "Hey, its gonna MOON! because switch 2!" then also have a significant holding with that same company. I can appreciate being told to calm down before waters get muddy in that respect.

A second account doesn't really mask anything. Honestly, I have no desire to mask anything. I hear rumors all the time but unless its accompanied by a stock surge, Its irresponsible for me to say its worthy of mentioning because I myself am not an insider. Those "rumors" wall street cooks up is usually a 60/40 thing AT BEST. If I hear it and then the stock surges then I pay attention and start digging. I guess what I am trying to say is the crap I type aint worth it.

A good (and custom) LCD panel (>90hz, VRR...) isnt that cheap. I don't think there is that much difference :/
Yeah if you multiply 5 bucks*20millions of consoles yeah, tons of money but mehhhh

I wish they could do 2 SKUs on launch day.

Edit: I am ok with a good LCD ! But im gonna be a bit pissed if it ends being 60hz without VRR.

The arguments for Sony or MS switching to ARM or RISC-V aren't great. It's a break in solid backwards compatibility.

The end goal for both of them is cloud streaming. If they can make it happen, then it's a $150 console that comes with a controller and they sell $70 games (Sony) or a $15/month subscription (Microsoft) and they never have to sell you on another console - just games. The only time they have to sell you more controllers is when the old ones break.

If you have old controllers that work, they can even sell you the bare console for like $80.

MS can Indeed include an x86 handheld into their ecosystem relatively easy; at least significantly easier than an ARM one. But I'm not sure for Sony. Xbox games are coded suing DirectX (and abstraction layer) and they have the Series S too. Sony has neither of those, and as late as PS4 they were coding their games very close to the metal.

You can see this with the XBX and PS4Pro: All XB1 were upgraded "automatically" on the XBX, while the PS4 one had to be patched one by one. And many never were patched. Also, we know that Sony team spend significantly effort into making the PS5 backward compatible, keeping an integer scaling of compute units and such. While MS released two different systems with very different specs offering full backwards compatibility without much fuzz.

I'm do not know if PS5 games are still coded "close to the metal", but we do know that they are not coded also for significantly weaker system in mind like the Xbox and Series S. And if a future handheld system does not match the PS4 spec by spec, then blackguards compatibility is not guaranteed either. Is very likely that Sony would need to port game by game in order to make them run a possible x86 handheld. And if you are going to do that, might as well go ARM for power savings and future hardware and start to use issue Multi-Architecture binaries like Apple.
