Maybe they’ll have a special color scheme joy-con or a special edition Switch Lite. I don’t think any custom controllers are coming because (a) what would that even be? And (b) something would have shown up in an FCC search by now.

Closest thing we have is this within the NSO app, but it isn't the same
(Though there is something mildly amusing about Mario Kart having a T for Teen rating due to Sin and Punishment + WINBACK)

I’ve been playing Returnal. Pretty excited to get to after all the praise.

Im not liking it at all. I’ve put some decent time in it. And the gameplay loop isn’t as much fun as I had hope. Like the setting a lot tho, looks nice visually, but a bit boring.

I’m hoping that I just haven’t gotten to the part where “this is why it’s been in the running for game of the year”.

But yeah, i was hoping it was like Hades where I liked a lot almost immediately lol.

True, but that's a partner (one time there was a partner on monday). General directs usually happen on Wed or Thurs, that has been consistent unlike partner showcases. But yeah I see your point.

Might just be the best time slot for them. They like to do Directs about a week after a tent pole game releases (see Animal Crossing in 2020)
 
Unsure if I enjoyed Pandora's Tower that much or if I just want Ganbarion to work on a sequel so they don't make another bad One Piece game...

Yeah next week it is. Grubb or someone else said it could be as soon as this week but idk. And typically Directs come after a game release rather than a couple of days before

If the Zelda games aren't in a pack (ugh) then I guess it's Twilight Princess for me if I had to choose.

I had the Wii U version of Wind Waker that I played through not too long ago and I never got around to picking up the HD version of the latter. I enjoy them equally but I've also never experienced the GC version of TP which this remaster will most likely be based on unless they also include the motion controls and mirrored world of the Wii version.

If you had the time to keep up with all the different gaming forums, twitters, discords, etc… with all that information you could essentially do the same and claim yourself An “insider”. I just don’t see what the point is, regurgitating information as your own?
 
I personally don't think there will be a direct this week, but I also don't think it's totally out of the question just because it's "Splatoon week". They've held directs in the same week as big releases before; usually they'd just play a short trailer for the game and remind everyone when it's coming out in those situations.

I don’t understand why people think Nintendo couldn’t do a direct right before Splatoon drops. It’s not like Metroid or Zelda being announced for November/December would dissuade anyone from buying Splatoon a day after the direct. It’d actually be more beneficial for them as they would get as many eyes as possible on the game right before it drops, leading to even more sales.

I don’t think we will see a direct this week, because people in the know are saying it’s next week, but we can’t outright rule out this week just because Splatoon releases.

I think a direct this week is off the cards by now anyway, because I couldn't see it happening on Wednesday or Friday (Apple event and Splatoon). Today was the day they could have announced one for Tuesday, so seems like it's next week. Again I think it'll be on tuesday
