I saw the Splatoon Twitter employee at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for more brand announcements or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen eShop cards in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the cards and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each card and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

It is really bizarre how Nintendo has just gone totally dark on marketing lately, I dunno if it's because of game development being in flux or what

I'm not complaining really, the games will come when they do, but the lack of structure to the Direct scheduling has been odd

unrealistically negative outlook: there's some sort of crisis at the company. it could be something mild, like the zelda delay being unexpected, or it could be worse, like major development snags

neutral outlook: no E3, no marketing. bada bing bada boom

unrealistically positive outlook: hardware really is right around the corner and they're desperate to wait on announcement for as long as they reasonably can

They have been the most active company announcement wise this month though, what we are in the dark more than usual are Nintendo’s 1st party new reveals but that is expected when there was no full direct in June. I think Nintendo shorter marketing cycles in general during the Switch era compared to WiiU+3DS have an affect on the perception of Nintendo marketing and how active they are, now it takes a lot longer for us to get information about the games coming

#TeamNeutral stays winning

In all seriousness though, I think to say Nintendo has gone dark on marketing is a bit of an exaggeration. As Blue Monty just stated, Nintendo has been pretty active on the marketing front this past month or so. I think the reason it feels so empty is because all of the trailers and what have you that would have been in one big direct have been spread out, and because none of these announcements have been megatons.

I’m sure this was just a fluke due to a lack of E3, and with TGS still on schedule for mid-September, I’m sure we’ll get some big announcements soon.

No Splatoon this week, we got Mario Kart on Thursday and probably a new Pokemon trailer on Wednesday/Thursday. Next week tho....

I would keep it around until at least the end of September. I still think a Direct could happen in August/September. Even if not, it's a good speculation thread.

I think FE is June/July and probably get announced in the January/Febuary Direct.
Nah, no way, it's 100% getting revealed at the September Direct, (assuming it happens) likely for a Q1 (I'm thinking March) 2023 release imo. Waiting until February of next year to even reveal it and waiting until Summer to release is waaaaaay too late for a game that has supposedly been done for quite a while.

I think a Splatoon 3 Direct is pretty much guaranteed.
I mean a general direct. A Splatoon Direct the next two weeks seems very likely.
Mid September would be in the middle of Splatoon 3 rollout, if there is a direct in September it will be either during the first 2-3 days or late Sept.
I see them doing a general direct on September 7th (One week before TGA). But yeah they propably need to give Splatoon info before.

Don't remember which one was the original but I remember a Bill Cosby version and a Danny Glover version. Pretty sure the Cosby version was before the raping allegations came out so maybe he was the original version?
