I could see the F-Zero thing being a smaller title, kinda like Cadence of Hyrule. Hand the IP off to an indie dev and let them take a crack at it. I don't follow the racing genre enough to know who that dev could be though.

With the right support from Nintendo it could see it working out. Also Shin'en didn‘t release anything since the Touryst in 2019 and before they had like one game per year so who knows.

I refuse to believe there is a new F-Zero coming.

I will only believe there is a new F-Zero about two years after we've gotten a new F-Zero.

I'm still about a year away from believing Sora came to Smash.
 
unpopular opinion, I really like the Kyoto buildings

I think they have an understated character to them

I really wish he had been more specific about F-Zero because that's not a franchise to be vague about. GX is one of my favorite games of all time and we haven't had a hint of a new one in over fifteen years. At this moment my guess is a port of GX with the AX content automatically unlocked. That's pretty cool but the original is still amazing and I have already played it to death. We need a new game.

That’s their develoment center. You can tell b/c the Nintendo logo is the enclosed version, while the logo on the NCL HQ is just letters.

I kind of agree. I feel like with F-Zero being so dormant it’s not really the franchise to tease if it’s not a new game/port
 
Oh my god are we really getting F-Zero? I'm curious what the "manage your expectations" tweet implies. Some possibilities:

  • An HD port of GX or AX, hopefully with online support
  • A smaller e-shop game
  • A mobile game

Ok 2 things

1. I got blocked by SyluxHunter on twitter for... saying he's hot shit like samushunter was. Lol I will never find out why the only account he's following is a Samus Aran NSFW RP account

2. If the F-Zero stuff is true, and he said to lower ur expectations a little bit, maybe it could be a mobile game?

edit: oh someone already mentioned the mobile game aspect. darn
 
I left the thread for a bit right when lower your expectations was posted, I agree with @Raccoon it’s gotta be the final track in Mario Kart. Imagine if they got one of the tube tracks in from F-Zero X and GX. I’d love if Fire Field from GX (or a track inspired by it like we have with Mute City and Big Blue) made it in.
 
The two franchises I really want to see come back on Switch are F-Zero and Star Fox, because then the holy trinity of Metroid/F-Zero/Star Fox will bless the Switch and put it alongside the two other best Nintendo home consoles: the SNES and Gamecube

And yeah, I'd take HD ports or remakes at this point. The Gamecube entries of those franchises are some of my favs.
