Happy birthday to our chocolate-loving supra-sonic fan @chocolate_supra! Hope this return to your mid-20's is filled with many exciting and colors-filled frontiers that give you an exciting rush you haven't felt in generations, and that oft-chronicled forces do not conspire to make this year a blasted .06 (on a 1.0 scale). 🥳🧁🍰🎁🎂🎈🎉
Birthday wishes to @chocolate_supra as well
Wait what? I mean, I appreciate the thought but yall it's not my birthday. 😅

Finished Uncharted 3 and moved on to Crafted World. On replaying UC3 I now actually consider it the best in the series; UC2 made more of an impact on me at the time, but in hindsight, 3's improved melee combat and less predictable narrative make it the better game.

Maybe it's cos I'm coming off a PS3 game (Even if it's, IMO, the best looking game on the PS3) but I don't remember Crafted World looking quite this pretty. It's materials and lighting are just gorgeous. People who say Switch doesn't look better than PS3/360 must not have played the latter recently cos even comparing a AAA game on PS3 made by some of the most technically talented people in the industry with a basically unlimited budget to a game like Yoshi which would've had a fraction the resources invested in it, the newer game clearly looks, well, newer.

Happy belated birthday! Yoshi's Crafted World is the perfect game for those chill vibes. I hope we get to see Good-Feel's next project soon.
Thank you! And I totally agree, Crafted World is such a soothing game to play with its gentle difficulty and cute visuals, it's a lovely way to unwind after a stressful day, and for me stress relief is one of the main reasons I play games.
It's also one of the main reasons I'm so excited for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, it also looks like a fantastic game for chilling out with.

If Nintendo really thinks that selling remastered GameCube games separately is better than putting them on NSO, they would've done it a lot more already, i think. There are too few GameCube games on the Switch right now. IIRC some people were saying the same thing about N64 games before the Expansion Pack was announced. I think they will be added to the NSO in the future in some way.

Hey, happy birthday man!
Don’t be so modest

Happy birthday!

Is it really your birthday or not? Just joining in on what others say

If not,

It really is not!! I don't know why everyone is doing this! 😂

true story, on a discord server I used to be in, the elites of the server tried to convince everyone that metroid prime had been delayed just a couple weeks before launch. I was so upset by it that I left the server and am now taking out my anger on you
Well at least now I know why everyone is doing this. 🤣

I could see GCN games being added to NSO on the succ, where storage may not be as much of an issue there.

...assuming Nintendo doesn't just completely dump NSO as it currently is and start all over yet again for the next system, that is.

Uncharted 3 has fans! There are dozens of us!

I thought the narrative and puzzles took big leaps from the first two games, and some of the absolute best moments are packed into this game: The ship, the chateau, the bar fight. Heck, I even like playing as Kid Drake.

Also, big sucker for the obligatory third entry in a desert.

Is sonic unleashed considered one of the good sonic games? I saw it just got on sale on Xbox and since it got FPS boosted not too long ago, kind of want to check some of them out

I had gotten generations for free on there ages ago

Yes. Sorta. The Sonic parts are some of the best of the modern "Boost" era, and while the Werehog parts aren't bad, they do feel a bit out of place and slowly-paced. As long as you go in knowing it's essentially two games duct-taped together, it's good stuff. I really liked it. And at 60fps it aughta look awesome.

There’s apparently a big backwards compatibility sale going on now on Xbox. Might splurge on that and a few others if the prices are good. Unleashed is five bucks

playing Metroid Prime 3 for the first time is a great reminder that I do not play Metroid games to see or interact with humans, voice actors, or space feds

Mario Land 2 has some of the most interesting level settings in any Mario game I’ve ever played. A graveyard, a beehive, an anthill, outer space (and Mario wears a space helmet!), inside a whale.. they’re so inventive and fun. The improvements in gameplay and graphics from the first Mario land are striking. It’s a truly great Mario game. The only things holding it back are the short length, and there is some slowdown when there’s more than one enemy on screen.

People who haven't played a Kirby game seeing The Forgotten Land trailer: "Omg look how colorful and cute this is!!"

People who have actually played a Kirby game seeing The Forgotten Land trailer:

@chocolate_supra will get sonic unleashed, not sure when I’ll play it as I’m not sure if it will be on sale again soon. I plan to try and play through some sonic games this year. Even forces as I had gotten that for free on playstation some time ago

@Brofield the time splitter games are on sale on Xbox for 2.50 each. Definitely buying them at that price.

I still think that Mario Rpg is going to get a pixel remaster and square will want to sell it like that. Have it be an announcement in a direct and drop it at the end of the presentation.

If we do get Game Boy games on NSO, I really want Nintendo to include Super Game Boy and Game Boy Color color palettes for original GB games.

I played Mario Land 2 on 3DS, which only has two color palettes: black and white, and the original Game Boy green. I played it in black and white (because the green filter is blurry) and it was fine, but I know that I could have had a much better experience if I played the game with an original cartridge on a Game Boy Color or a Super Game Boy.

It doesn’t seem like a very Nintendo Thing to include GBC and SGB color palettes for GB games, but please god I hope they do.

Xbox has that big BC sale going so I bit,
I’m rolling with, Crazy Taxi, Nights, both Timesplitters, Puzzle Fighter, Just Cause 2 and Rayman 3
Not bad for a $20

@Skittzo, I think you've passed your computer woes on to me. What is this dastardly curse?

Don't forget Travis Strikes Again, if you jump straight to NMH3 from 2 then there will be somethings that will make no sense unless you've played TSA.
Yeah, I need to get that sometime ... my only hope is probably a complete release with all the DLC on cart. That thing is expensive as is.

Skies of Arcadia should not be languishing on GameCube and Dreamcast and should be on Switch tomorrow thank you.
That's one I was almost surprised never made it onto Wii U, given some of the side content that used Dreamcast's screen.

Not enough kids named Thanos these days...
From Athanasios.
But could refer to Thanatos.
Should this be referring to immortality or to death?

Hell yeah Kirby is coming out on my birthday! Thank you Nintendo. I knew you loved me.

Now give me Eternal Darkness please.
They're following Kirby up with Eternal Darkness. It's a one-two punch of cosmic horror.

It must be a virus targeted to Eternal Darkness fans.

So I realize I'm getting ahead of myself here, but GBA and GC will probably be on an even higher tier than the current NSO+ right? I'm thinking $70/year minimum (probably $80) in 2 years at the earliest. Also, do we think it's possible for them to add another 3rd party system, like PC Engine or something else?
I think GBA will probably get added to the expansion pack eventually, but GCN I think probably just isn't coming to NSO period. At that point, I think they'd probably switch back to something more like the VC model for practical purposes.

Past those, I think physical DS games will probably go to NSO, physical Wii games will go wherever GCN games go, and my ideal for everything else is for Nintendo to just fully integrate all their old digital storefronts into the Switch one.

read this as Four Horses and I am unironically unopposed
Fire Emblem: Four Horses
Fire Emblem: Four Stinky Horses
Fire Emblem: Four Horses of the Apocalypse

No shot. It sounds like the casual title is something most of us will skip. Most of this place is dying for more Captain Toad.
Captain Toad Sequel is going to lean more into the structure of the bygone 3D Zelda games.
But still be distinctly Captain Toad.

What’s the opposite of ‘Yeah!’ ? Cause yeah that.

I’ve given up for the most part but there will never be a better piece of hardware for a splendid 90 hour slog than Switch or it’s successor(s)

Don’t forget:

Parasite Eve = Mitochondria
That was a weird book.

I'll never say that someone should buy a Switch game just for the home screen icon but Final Fantasy XII comes close.

It stands out from the other Final Fantasy icons which are usually just the logo on a white background. It's also different from the actual boxart of the physical copy which is rare for Switch games.
I actually have this one, waiting for the day I have the Switch to play it on.

I've heard it's actually a really good game! Only drew ire because fans were salivating for a "real" Zelda game and Crossbow Training obviously wasn't it. But yeah, I've heard it's much better than people give it credit for. 👍
I still think this should be included in the eventual Twilight Princess rerelease.

Pro Famiboards Strat!
When you think you're probably wrong and agree with somebody's opposing point, just Yeah! their post and leave the argument entirely! Works every time.
