Chrono Trigger is a perfect game that in my opinion doesn't need a remake and a new version of it won't really do anything for me.

Port it forward, sure, make it easily accessible, but some 3D polygonal remake? Eh. Doesn't thrill me either way.

It used to be. Now that Vanpool, HAL assist studio and maker of small Kirby games, is gone, no one knows for sure.

But I can guess HAL's next game is to be Forgotten Land 2 for Switch 2 launch window. I wouldn't be surprised if HAL itself does nothing but 3D Kirby from now on.

Hal Laboratory/Nintendo could hire another studios to work on Kirby spin-off games, when Hal Laboratory is busy working on the next 2D/3D Kirby game, i not sure if Hal Laboratory will do another 3D Kirby game(Kirby and the Forgotten Land could easily be a way off game, let give Kirby fans a 3D game, so at least they enjoy a 3D game, before we return to the usual 2D games)

i not sure if Hal Laboratory will do another 3D Kirby game(Kirby and the Forgotten Land could easily be a way off game, let give Kirby fans a 3D game, so at least they enjoy a 3D game, before we return to the usual 2D games)

From reading the developer interviews for Forgotten Land, I think there's very much a sense of "we've done so much with 2D already, whereas with 3D we feel we're really only just scratching the surface of what we can do with Kirby" at HAL Laboratory.

Star Allies sorta felt like a "grand finale" or capper for that 2D era of Kirby, so I think going forward (at least for a while) the main games are gonna be expanding on the 3D style of gameplay and 2d will largely be left to remakes or spin-offs. With Forgotten Land finally dethroning the original Dream Land as best-selling Kirby game, I can't imagine the next game isn't essentially "Forgotten Land 2".

Chrono Trigger doesn't need to be messed with, but seeing what Square did with the FF Pixel Remasters does give me some comfort that an upgrade could be done faithfully and well, so long as it's as subtle as those. Not like an HD2D remake or anything, and definitely not a polygonal version.

It’s important for any console to have a healthy mix of immediate future games and long term prospect games. The latter gives people stuff to dream about and more passionately anticipate. I don’t expect Switch 2 to be terribly different in that regard.

I have long thought that the formula for a perfect Direct/Showcase/Presentation/etc. is actually pretty simple on paper:

• Show mostly games coming out within the next ~6-12 months
• Have a good mix of genres, hardcore-pleasers, casual-pleasers, and big and small budget games
• Have at least one, but possibly more (especially very early in a console's life) big hype-inducing games that're still a good ways off to have things to look forward to
• Always end the show with whatever the biggest, hypest, most exciting announcement is. Giving emphasis to things that are brand new if possible.

And that's it. Now, as dev time takes longer and longer and delays are more common and you want to combat leaks and weigh when to announce things too early vs. too late and many, many other concerns, this obviously is a lot harder in practice than it is on paper. But IMO this is what they need for a new console, just like most any other Direct; just with a few more long-term games maybe being a bit more open than usual to entice people into the new console.

I would say give or take this is what we’d basically get. Peach game may or may not be there. Somethings will be announced for early 2024. Maybe we see Prime 4 or DK? Tomadachi Life 2? A new eShop game from a Nintendo studio or partner? Fire Emblem remake I think has a very good chance of showing up.

I would rather have insiders (whether real or fake) state what they know explicitly rather than teasing with annoying hints like most do.

Not a fan of the legs situation. Either go with short socks or thigh-highs, but commit to something. The scarf would look better if it wasn't striped, as it feels too distracting. I'm loving the ribbon though, and her boots are cute. That is my fashion critique.
