Sad thing is that we probably won't see any sort of announcement for it (assuming it exists at all) until next year, so we're gonna have to deal with it for 6+more months.

I mean the Switch 2 is going to need calendar fillers, and WiiU ports are not really an option this time around. Now some of that burden came be taken up by Switch 2 patches for Switch games, but that's definitely not enough to cover.

We have at least a 12-16 months before the Switch successor releases. Also if the Switch successor is BC then you have to think of these GC remasters to Switch as future proofing by getting even more classic Nintendo games available on Switch 2 at launch.

I think everyone who recognized that disk had the exact same thought. I know I did.

They can fill it with more third party games.

But otherwise, I don’t think you need to panic. If they are shadowdropping 1/2 gamecube/wii remasters per direct its at least 3 per year and I think there is a lot of good titles they can slowly release.

In addition of remasters/remakes from their portable library (GB/C, GBA, NDS and 3DS systems).

Nintendo will be fine and very capable of releasing a very good stream of first party titles. There will be no more drought periods.

Astral Chain 2 is long overdue and I think it's an easy guess for a cross gen game!! I see it coming either late 2024 or early 2025. Hope they reveal it at this Direct with a 2024 release year and then re-reveal for Drake. I loved that game so much!! That Nash Weedle guy apparently teased AC 2 on Twitter but I know he ain't reliable. But hey, something that is a bit more risky like that is interesting imo.

I'd kill MP2R for 4 appearing tho. Aside from that, perfect Direct!!

I really like this post. I have killer7 HD on Steam and it looks so good on there but I'd definitely buy a Switch port, one of my all time favourites, same with Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, absolutely love those games. I am eagerly awaiting Dragon Quest 3 Remake and Astral Chain sequel and hopefully Thousand Year Door Remaster does happen. I'm playing all those games if they all get announced lol.
