StarTopic Future Nintendo Hardware & Technology Speculation & Discussion |ST| (Read the staff posts before commenting!)

I agree with you on the part that its not 1:1 the amount of cores (as mentioned prior), but also that i would not expect them to try to get the maximum out of that curve, but take into account real world thermal performance and decide on the clocks on that =D
I mean, my numbers are theoretical, the ones that are provided by the graph are not theoretical they are from actual test performed on the Exynos chip way back then. But, the trend seems to follow with it. And may be just the same for modern ARM cores.

That’s the theoretical part.

Read the article. She figured something was happening because she noticed updates in dev tools. That's what I mean by "finding things in code".

Datamining is called datamining for a reason.

Right now, she's hearing "whispers", much like how Grubb was. She has nothing actually concrete right now.
Yeah this could very well be confirmation bias.

The term 'whispers' is relative tbh lol. These kinda hold more weight to me

I mean it‘s very possible that Nintendo will talk about or reveal the next console soon. Dosen‘t make a release this year more likely though.

Hello. If you are currently complaining about the quality of the discussion you are engaging in, consider not engaging. It's hard, I know.

I will also remind folk that the greatest source of bad leaks and rumors about the Switch 2 is... this thread. @P4bl0 is a new member and is likely unaware, so I would like to emphasize for them but also for everyone - if you post something incendiary here, it will get picked up everywhere else. The fact that something you see here pops up elsewhere is not confirmation. It's you literally hearing people yelling back at you the thing you just said.

It's been a couple months since I stopped in here but I see it's gotten to the point where I can't tell who is and isn't doing a bit anymore lol.

If Nikki was hearing from the same people Grubb heard, then it's obvious she would think something was gearing up soon. Does not mean it's Switch 2 or whatever.

Do not treat rumors as leaks.

Over 60k post, and a few industry "insiders" and the best we can currently provide is.......we aren't sure of anything? 😂. It has to be rough for those who were here in the beginning.

There's also the very real chance that Grubb's source was hearing of something around July and it was, in fact, the June Direct & there is nothing planned or coming in July.

Edit: This is not me commenting on whether or not something may or may not take place in July.

Just becareful what you say lol

Btw, how is it possible that discussions from this forum end up on reddit??

Our legacy at the end will be that many Switch Successor Nicknames originated here/the old place or that we at least helped a lot to spread them all over the web.

I think this only applies during November or December, as Nintendo wouldn't have to worry about hurting their hardware forecast (the the Switch might sell well, either way). Otherwise, why announce a new system this year, if it's at least six months off? That's even assuming that it comes out H1 of next year.

Guess we will see, Nintendo always makes the most sense in hindsight. If it is really this year we will say in a year it was always logical that it was this year because of [INSERT OBVIOUS REASON THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH P4BL0S ARGUMENTS].

Hi

I’m very excited at the possibility of my current games library running at 60fps which would be a really great upgrade considering some of my games struggle to hit 30fps. I wonder how many millions they could sell just from that selling point alone like Witcher 3 and coming soon Arkham Knight running at 60fps on a bus or train. Really quite remarkable to me on a portable console. I know it won’t happen naturally and need patching but it would be cool if they could make it natural (I have no idea if this is even possible ha!).

Woke up to some new pages lmao. I mean, yes, it could be your typical inspect element or casual photo editing, but well... I'm saying, i'm clinging to the slight hope this might be real...

Does anyone miss when companies would announce next gen systems at least a year out from release?
I don't!
I like to see an announcement with "pre-order now" and have it in 3 months (or 2 years while fighting scalpers).

But it's a little too soon to assume anything.
They could announce it now and release it in 2025 for all I know.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't someone say a while back that Nintendo was planning to have a short announcement to release window.

September (A) to November (R) I could see as the earliest possibility. Personally I'm more of a Feb-Apr, or May-July guy as the earliest though.

I've gotta say no, Switch reveal was one of my favorites reveals ever.

The entire industry was doubting Nintendo coming off of Wii U, and I remember being on NeoGAF where people where some people were lol'ing proclaiming it dead on arrival. This is after reading, "Nintendo should go 3rd party every other month when Wii U numbers dropped. Hell, the Pokemon devs didn't even make an engine for their games on the Switch initially because they had no faith in it.

The moment we heard those hybrid leaks and codename NX the hype cycle was in full gear and it felt like they revealed it at the perfect time.

Did those posters end up eating crow?

I think a 6 month ish lead up is pretty good tbh. One trailer with a couple game teasers, one big presentation then some smaller stuff sprinkled in till release.

I remember that as well, but it's hard to find where they said that.

This smells of Inspect Element.
Yeah, there's a chance this could just be inspect element replacing the icon for Mobile development.

Personally I'm very iffy on if this is real or not. There's a chance it could be, but it's unlikely in my eyes. I'd expect a reveal in late November or January next year.
