I see where you're coming from, but I don't think we can ignore the install bases of the aforementioned systems. For example, while the PS5's chip shortage is valid, you also have to consider that those PS4 games were already in development. In the PS2's case, while the PS3 came out as a flop, the PS2 was still getting games due to its monolithic success, like God of War 2 and Assassin's Creed, plus HD game development was still new at the time and it wouldn't hit its stride until, arguably, the release of Uncharted in 2007. I can hardly imagine Nintendo or even third-parties abandoning the Switch until a few years have after Drake have passed with support in the form of smaller scale games, most of which will very likely be cross-gen.
