I just want a proper Doctor Who game someday.

Just give me LEGO Doctor Who, there's like a bazillion characters to choose from that you can make for a LEGO game, also several hundred stories to build a game around, and enough story and lore to make an original one if need be.

It's interesting how incredibly different the movie is from the book. An obvious point is the whole war plot, which is largely unexistent in the text. Also the entire characterization of Howl. And how much could have been solved if he'd put more skill points into media literacy. It ends up with strong throughlines of growing up and of hiding our true selves.

Also, Calcifer is the best.
 
Steak is literally terrible, nothing sounds more unappetizing than a slab of meat sitting on my plate solo. Like cut that up and throw it in with literally anything, rice, vegetables, noodles, something

This goes for slabs of chicken, pork, etc all meat should be cut up before serving.
 
For those keeping FCC score, no new FCC applications from Nintendo since 2021. Both the SNES and N64 controllers appeared before their September unveilings, so it was pretty obvious that those platforms were coming. No such tip-off this year.

It doesn’t mean much though. The application for the Genesis controller last year wasn’t submitted until after the direct. So they could totally add GB/GBA with no controller and TG16 with one later.

It sort of feels like it’s time. Maybe they’ll do GB/C first and try to hold GBA off for next year, but I doubt it. (I’m expecting GBA at least to be exclusive to NSO+EP, though.)

  • Super Mario 3D World is better than Odyssey and I wish the series could continue in that direction
  • New Super Mario Bros gets too much hate
  • I wish Pikmin had a more cartoony artstyle like Tinykin
  • Booster Course Pass > Mario Kart 9
  • I hope the current Switch lasts as long as possible. I don't want a Pro.
  • Sportsmates > Miis
  • Pokemon is carrying the Switch lineup and deserves more credit
  • I want a Switch OLED Lite
 
everything I think of giving a list of hot take or fighting opinions. My mind can’t think of anything cause I don’t think they’re hot takes. Just genuine lol.

But here goes

  • Metroid only has 2 great games. Everything is else just good or below.
  • Mario has gotten boring with not expanding its cast. Not asking for a million new characters. But one or 2 wouldn’t hurt.
  • Pokémon should really use voice acting. I don’t get the hesitation.
  • Kirby has been a series of miss potential up until Forgotten Land. Looking forward to the future of the series.
  • Super Mario RPG is a mediocre game. But one I would’ve gone to SE for a HD-2D remake immediately(even tho it’s technically 3D lol). Hope they still do it, seems like a genius investment.
  • BOTW’s writing is bad
  • Three House’s writing for Edelgard’s route is bad
  • Pokémon Colosseum is a mediocre game but I love it
  • The Dog controller for Switch is horrible.
  • Fire Emblem series has a huge problem with scripts. Like they’re always afraid to go further then they do and a tendency to over-explain everything multiple times. The same thing usually. If they could tighten those up.
  • Zelda games have the most miss potential when it comes to writing since Majora’s Mask. It’s very disappointing to see
  • Splatoon is not fun to play. But fun to see succeed. Cool vibes. But I feel there’s so much more they can do to make the series grow but don’t.
  • Donkey Kong not being a Nintendo staple is stupid. Mainstream name and Nintendo treats it worst then most.

First, I wouldn’t assume all the Game Boy lineup is in one app. Game Boy and Game Boy Color will be together, of course, because Nintendo considers those to be the same system. But I think Game Boy Advance will be its own app with its own icon.

I do think it’s very possible that they’ll launch with ten games for each system for 20 games total. I don’t think it makes a ton of sense to add many more than 20 games to NSO/+EP in one day. I think they sort of burned themselves by launching with so much of the SNES lineup available on day one and then running out of games, and the N64 launch lineup shows that they sort of learned their lesson there.

I can see them not launching with, say, Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2 at the same time, or Kirby’s Dream Land and Kirby’s Dream Land 2. I think they’ll try to represent as many franchises as possible at first (Super Mario Land, Metroid II, Link’s Awakening, Kirby’s Dream Land, Donkey Kong ‘94, etc.) and maybe save the sequels for a little bit later. They won’t wait too long, though, I’d expect games like SML2 and KDL2 by year’s end.

I have no real takes because I don’t really give a shit if people don’t like the games I like.

Though Mii’s are the best Nintendo creation post Pikmin and pre Splatoon

Metroid Prime 4 having Arca as the sound designer/composer would actually be quite based.

(Listen to Lost Woman Found and Machote and tell me it doesn't feel like a MP atmosphere)
 
Tuesday can't come soon enough, I need to see something Metroid and Zelda and Fire Emblem and hopefully Mario.

I feel this way about steak but am fine with pork chops, chicken breast etc. Steak cut up into salads and sandwiches is fine, but I don't really like it as its own thing

I agree with most what you said (especially on the Pokemon bit, though I'd still expect spinoffs like Pinball and the Trading Card Game to come over, since we got Snap and Puzzle League on the N64 app), but I think they'll unify everything in one app.. because this way they have much more wiggle room to fill with fewer titles in the future (like, no guarantee we'll be getting a GB, a GBC or a GBA game in the following months.. it could be just one of them)

Ugh this would be incredible, Arca has such a way with creating soundscapes. Like I could totally see how she could go from something like kick iiiii (5 i’s) and extrapolate that to like a Metroid soundtrack. I feel like Time from kick i also has a cool atmospheric sound to it. And all her work as a producer in Bjork’s Utopia (Arisen My Senses, Saint, Utopia, The Gate)? That would be incredible

Gosh I really want this now

YES 😭😭😭😭 she really has some really really beautiful songs that make me feel like I'm on a trip in a dystopian world. Body Memory with Bjork also has that Metroid feeling.
