who the fuck is that
To be honest if there is something in that Direct that's planned to release in like 8 weeks or something I would say that delaying the Direct two weeks or so would screw their marketing quite a lot.
No. Take a vacation for a week so this direct goes aheadWAKE UP FURUKAWA-SAN
SPITS OUT TEAI seriously doubt Nintendo is going to go into a lockdown for a week over England.
this is a Yeah! for SOPHIE and a Yeah! for Stan ResponsiblyMy Queen list currently includes:

I wanted to include video game characters but sadly my mind has gone blank
Yeah, western Directs sometimes skip Koei Tecmo games (Atelier, Nobunaga, Monster Rancher) but they get announced later on. There's that teased Atelier game but they sounded like it's gonna be revealed at their TGS event... If the Direct gets delayed, they might do that instead. Also IIRC Japanese Nintendo Directs are very different from the ones we get here broadcasted in Europe/US
Dan Ryckert on the Giant Bomb stream seemed to have some sort of info that the delay is a possibility.Purely speculation.
Maybe Grubb is just trying to warn us that Nintendo might delay/cancel the Direct. I don’t know this, but perhaps he doesn’t have any info on the delay, he’s just trying to get us prepared in case the delay happens. Even that I would appreciate.
I think he must have seen the news about Elizabeth's death so I think plans haven't changed. That's quite confident, but I'm guessing Nate is just assuming the Direct isn't delayed (yet?)

I MEAN THAT WAS TOTALLY UNRELATED PLEASE IGNORE ME
Again, D23 is a paid fan convention that already had attendees. It’s not really the same thing as delaying a marketing presentation on YouTube. And the thing is like... Disney is going to go ahead with TONS of announcements at D23 this weekend. Other stuff will still be happening. I just really don't know if I buy this.
was -> isDoing a disclaimer before the Direct on UK and other streams? Like the Covid one that was always before the start?

TGS being so soon is what's holding me up, too. I totally understand if you can't share this level of detail, but are the games you know of first party, third party, or both? I'm curious if Nintendo could really pivot to, say, a partner direct just to satisfy their TGS obligations, or if it could be a more complicated pivot than that if they decide to cancel/delay the Direct.I wonder if Nintendo has much wiggle room to move the Direct around. Because there are games at TGS being announced first in the Direct.
But maybe I'm underestimating the impact that the Queen's death may have on Nintendo's plans?
My point is to show that the world is not going to stop. Maybe it's delayed, maybe not, but to think that come Tuesday the news worldwide will still be SO dominated by her death that no one will speak of anything else is just... wrong.Again, D23 is a paid fan convention that already had attendees. At least the February one was really goodas a General Direct fan this year sucks man lol
trueAt least the February one was really good
Like we all knew, and as Nate said in the other thread, waiting until NCL wakes up and goes to work.
It doesn’t have to be, like, 100% media domination, it just has to be enough of a media disruption/distraction to make it make more sense to hold the (still unannounced!) presentation on a different date, like the following Tuesday or Wednesday (which would be after the funeral). My point is to show that the world is not going to stop. Maybe it's delayed, maybe not, but to think that come Tuesday the news worldwide will still be SO dominated by her death that no one will speak of anything else is just... wrong.
It's not a competition, its not something you compete with, its gonna suck the air out of the media for 10 days w/ the series of public events and preparations for the funeral - remember the US (and even Japan) had blanket coverage of the "Royal Wedding" - if third party stuff has to be announced before TGS then my guess as someone who's done social for big entertainment properties is that they will do them as tweets or let the announcements be made at TGS and have the direct after the 10 days of events etc... regardless if a few trailers aren't "premieres" anymore given its only third party stuff.A Nintendo Direct would have more eyes on it because Nintendo also tweets out the announcements during and after the presentation. So your suggestion that to avoid being drowned by the queen's news, Nintendo should do less? How does that work?
No, but I think the same dynamic applies. If a company like Disney feels comfortable marching onward with their announcement slated for a convention (because if nothing else, there's profit to be had), then what's stopping Nintendo, Sony, their partners or various others that are going to be doing their own things in or around TGS?Again, D23 is a paid fan convention that already had attendees. As someone's whose online persona is also fused to a Mario character, let me reassure you - despite the crown and the association with Peach and Daisy, Rosalina is never actually referred to in-game as a princess. In fact, it's only ever mentioned in Prima guides and, like, on the 3D All-Stars website, I guess? She watches over the cosmos but does not rule it, at most commanding over a space ship and watching over Lumas. The Honey Queen that rules over the bees in that one galaxy has more political power than Rosalina does.I sit here tearing down monarchies and yet the closest representative Nintendo figure for me, fused to my resetera / famiboards persona, is literally some kind of space royal
oh god what do I do
Because Nintendo has the option of delaying the announcements for a more optimal time, which Disney realistically doesn’t?No, but I think the same dynamic applies. I mean, I didn't expect the Queen to call it a day right before the supposed Direct in, like, August when rumours started to ramp up.It's just funny how it has happened every time.
Every time there's a rumored Direct, a few days before the supposed date, someone comes out saying it may not happen/isn't what we thought it would be.
Even though we've been told, FOR A FACT, that a Direct is happening.
If @Suswave has aspirations of godhood then at least we can count on existence having a banger soundtracknow if you have aspirations of godhood that may be another thing, lol
I believe some of the more recent game-specific directs were announced on MondayAnnouncement on Monday?
Does Nintendo ever announces Directs on Mondays? I can't recall.
sorry to disappoint but I can barely handle a basic broke-ass human existence in the age of miracles and nightmaresIf @Suswave has aspirations of godhood then at least we can count on existence having a banger soundtrack
