Tbh I don't see this news in Canada being more than just a day of news coverage for the death and a day coverage for the funeral. Maybe Trudeau does a speech or ceremony?? If anything really. Tbh the saddest thing for me is that now we will have Charles face on our money lol

Sorry. It’s a biblical term for mourning where people would put ashes on their head. Mainly was jokingly wondering what the independent commonwealth places are supposed to do at times like these when the issue really doesn’t affect them
 
I still don't think it will be delayed or anything. And can't wait for Splatoon 3 tomorrow, that will hold me over the weekend.

Is it a really bad headache centered like right behind one eye? Does it move a bit down towards your jaw and been up?

It might be a cluster headaches, I used to deal with those and they are absolutely brutal.

Do I think NCL will want to delay the direct? I have no idea at all

Do I think NoE, and especially Nintendo UK, have been talking about this situation's impact on marketing all day though? Yeah. I'm sure they must have been.
 
Hello again, everyone. I took a break but am back excited about games.

Feel very sorry for the Nintendo employees currently editing the Bayonetta 3 Queen Elizabeth boss battle reveal trailer out of the Direct.
 
Nintendo UK set down their tea and crumpets, sang God Save the Queen, then God Save the King, then got back to work on the marketing for Nintendogs: Corgi Edition.

Damn, I've been away from my phone and PC all day and just caught the news that the queen of Tealand croaked lol. Most tragic event of the week would be if this actually causes the Direct to get delayed.

I'm leaning towards no delay, especially given the famous Hate ReassuranceTM from Nate on Twitter. The Direct is still like, five days away anyway. Surely the new cycle will have cooled down a bit by then?

I thought the nap would have helped but I feel awful again. I do NOT wanna die the same day as the queen.
 
The extent of the "conversations" taking place inside Nintendo right now would amount to due diligence like, "is there anything in the Direct that would be considered insensitive given the death of the queen?" I'm sure every halfway significant news event merits a moment of consideration by the marketing team, but in this case as in most others, the answer to the question of "should we delay it" would very quickly be "nah."

If anything, it just does more to prove one thing: Vidya has no reason to really care.

As far as other "global events" went back in 2018, the end of November saw the death of George HW Bush, the 41st president of the United States.

Which was, of course, a big deal for the US, but Nintendo, and video games, as a whole, didn't seem too bothered. The Game Awards still went on a week later, and Nintendo even took the opportunity to announce Joker for Smash DLC.

Actually the conversations at NCL right now are probably more similar to "zzzzzzzzz" since it's still very early there.

It's not like NOA and NOE don't have a say in what goes on in Directs or their scheduling. The point isn't that discussions in NOA and NOE are irrelevant because NCL is asleep -- if senior people at NOA or NOE were seriously talking about delaying a Direct, then it's unlikely they would present that to NCL but get shot down. The point is that there's no reason to believe those discussions are happening beyond what I mentioned.
 
Finally got around to buying Super Monkey Ball now that I caught it on sale for $15, so even if there's no direct I'll be plenty occupied between that and Splatoon 3 next week.
