I hope it would go without saying that Wind Waker would be the game to lose out for me in that scenario, I'm just saying it would be nice not to have to even make that choice.
Sincerely hoping you don't have to make that choice :devilish:

I literally screamed fuck you at my screen

Don't worry, i'm on it ... because i'm not a german guy, i'm really Bill Trinen investigating undercover for years now trying to find the leaks at NoA.

We've already caught Raccoon, disabled his logins and right now a team of Lawyer-Ninjas is on the way to his garden to steal all his crops.

As someone who knows Raccoon since 2019 Era, this was really unexpected. Poor guy.

If you're gonna change everything about the source game I don't see the point in even remaking it as opposed to something new unless it's nothing more than a cash grab cashing in on nostalgia. But at that point why put so much time and money into it if you just want to cash in on the name alone?

Never said "change everything", I said I will be uninterested if it's left as is+ SOV was criticized for not modernizing their maps. Remakes don't always need to be 1:1 and I think the core concepts of FE4 are good, and would shine with fine tuning and some map editing.

It's just weird that Zelda ports are coming soon. Like early October? Then when does Prime HD come out if that's also this year? Is it gonna go up against Bayonetta or Pokemon or is it going to slide in like a week before Pokemon? Surely they wouldn't miss Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping.

Obviously you can flip what comes first; Metroid or the Zelda ports lol.

Prime is probably November, for the franchise anniversary.

My guess is Zelda ports are in December. They're nice fill ins, and Nintendo doesn't have a big game for December.

December has Dragon Quest Treasures, which is a Switch exclusive.
Nintendo won't overshadow it with something big like the Zelda ports.

I mean, if they release the zelda ports late September and botw2 late March it's still a 6 months period between releases
Then I guess metroid prime in november for black Friday, december release for advance wars and/or everybody buys 1-2 switch 2 and that's it for the end of the year.
Then I could go in dream territory and say fire emblem for january and botw2 march.
Let's hope that that is the case

September 13th (in the west) is the last possible day for a Direct pre-TGS as that would be wednesday in Japan. Wednesday in the west would mean that the Direct would air in Japan on the very day TGS actually starts. (If my timezoning isn't wrong.)

I could see a thursday in Japan Direct would be somewhat too short notice for the third parties that have games announced / featured in the Direct.

Yep. That had my thinking that they are not gonna do Direct that very week of TGS but seems like they really want it after Splatoon 3 releases. With that there is only one possible date: announcement on Monday 12th with a Direct on the 13th in US and 14th midnight in most of Europe + 14th morning in Japan. I doubt they will do Direct the same date in Japan when TGS starts (15th).

I can't wait when today Nintendo announces Everybody's 1-2 Switch as a small redemption for September 1st Direct. Something has to die for something else to live.

So, whats left for this year to be announced…

Zelda WW+TP HD for early october
Metroid Prime 1 Remaster for late november
Everybody’s 1 2 Switch for early december

Then mayor titles for H1 2023 are Zelda BOTW2 and new Fire Emblem.

You're pitting Zelda and Metroid remasters against a brand new generation of Pokémon? That's very brave.

Calling it now, the windwaker/twilight princess double pack it's actually the tingle radio portion of windwaker plus twilight princess crossbow training.

The difference is that Fire Emblem 2 was always the black sheep game, and SoV had to find the right balance between keeping it faithful and modernizing it to be less crap. I think they did the best job they could putting lipstick on a pig.

Fire Emblem 4 is super popular, the only thing I think needs to be fine tuned is unit movement. Due to how big the maps are it's very easy for your cavalcade of paladins to charge forward and kill everything while your mages and swordsman slowly bring up the rear and accomplish very little. That's an issue in most FE games, but it's most profound in 4 because of how big the maps are.

So apparently Jeff has heard about Bandai Namco HD remaster indeed being Kid Icarus? Or was it speculation?
It’s speculation. They basically drew the same conclusion most people did when those job listing went up. Unless they changed their tune into saying it more definitively now. I haven’t listened to recent episode yet.

Nintendo literally does their June E3 directs right before E3 starts. Don’t get caught up in how last minute Nintendo is waiting to do a direct before TGS.
yeah but their E3 Directs are tied to E3 schedule and always happen on the same day, E3 Tuesday. As for TGS the last "last minute" for them was 4 days before TGS so this is very different for them this time but Splatoon is the main reason for this.

It’s still before. You’re caught up in how close they do it to TGS (this time). The point is before is before be it a week before or on the same day. Nintendo plans these things out way in advance. It’s not like they didn’t know what they were doing when they decided to release Splatoon 3 on September 9th many months ago.

Nintendo has no problem even releasing more than one of their own games in one month. DQ Treasures isn't even published by them, it's SE, so I doubt Nintendo would miss the spot just to give it room.

Bit far-fetched, considering how challenging development was, but what if Sakurai is working on Kid Icarus Uprising 2 and Nintendo is using the Port to bring the series back to spolight in the meantime?
I mean, one thing that remasters and re-releases are good for are testing demand for older series, as well as for testing development arrangements. That's what happened with Metroid: Samus Returns. Of course, the fact that Prime 4 was announced at the same time shows Nintendo already had plans for Metroid.

Famicom Detective Club and Advance Wars getting remakes shows that Nintendo aren't afraid to go for deep cuts. Who knows if they, and Kid Icarus, lead to a future for these series? Kid Icarus really would benefit from dual analog controls and I think it'd find an appreciative audience.

Very brave of Nintendo to shadow drop Detective Pikachu HD + Detective Pikachu 2 Collection during the Direct next month after it being MIA for so long. GOTY move if you ask me, which I did.

I had a dream (nightmare?) Where the trailer for BotW2 came out and all the characters had huge heads, like in DK mode in GoldenEye. That is all.

Apparently, Konami is planning to release a MGS1-3 collection on everything. They are remasters, not remakes.

It can be a very good direct announcement. Like FF at 2018, something like “All MGS titles will be available soon at Switch!”.

Remember when Nate said that he was excited to see a non nintendo tgs announcement......I wonder if it has to do with Konami.
