StarTopic Xenoblade 3 |ST| Σ Become One

What the fuck? So I'm starting to explore everything after completing the main story and I discover that there are puzzle doors???

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of

MASSIVE MELEE MYTHRA

Nia wears Mythra's smash bros pants
Nia has boots similar to Pyra and the tights and leg band from Mythra‘s Smash outfit. The top half of her design is also very similar to Mythra’s, with arm stockings and a separate top.

She has both Pyra’s and Mythra’s swords on her back and one of her idle poses while talking to NPCs appears to reference Mythra‘s artwork from XC2 (hand on hip and bowed legs).

And to top it all off, in camp idle animations she sits exactly the same as Mio - who is heavily implied to be her daughter with Rex. They even have Mio sit opposite her in the exact same pose!

Nia is the key to everything it seems. lol

When a Reaction says it boosts a stat by 175%, that is the same thing as multiplying said stat by 2.75, correct?

For example:

Attack 50 boosted by 175%
= 50 x 1.75 = 87.5
= 50 boosted by 87.5
= 137.5

okay but what does the silhouette tell you really?! I've been to that menu plenty of times and I've not gotten anything "spoiled"
I mean... didn't you literally get something spoiled for you in this thread because of an exchange over this already? lol

It sounded like you were not as far into the game as a lot of people in the thread so you might not have all the same information on which to make these deductions, but there are definitely two (that I haven't even unlocked yet, but are obvious from the silhouettes) that I would consider spoilers

Also on the topic of heroes. I have a theory about the last silhouette, so don't open if you don't want to hear my potentially very wrong ramblings

The last silhouette definitely looks like the invisible mechs that have been showing up in side quests from time to time. The side quest to introduce them was even part of the main story, and they have a suspicious amount of build up/appearances in side quests, so I definitely think that's a quest line that will culminate in a new hero.

But also, there was a brief shot in the direct of a hero machina girl that doesn't match any of the silhouettes as far as I can tell. So unless there's some secret hero shenanigans (which I still hope for, but if they did that it would be for returning characters rather than someone new), I'm thinking she's a mech pilot or something? Like that mech dragon lady from 2

I don't really want confirmation one way or the other, just putting it out there for fun

There are 2 silhouette I’d consider evidently from “surprise hero characters”, but I’ve yet to unlock them.
This happened to me too lol, I went looked at the hero roster to see if I'd get another healer class anytime soon and I got more information than I asked for.

If it helps save anyone else, you can tell what the upcoming hero roles are from the class screen by the background color of their circles, without needing to venture into the hero roster minefield

Assuming there's any romance at all, Ouroboros pairings are probably endgame but something strangely draws me to Lanz and Taion atm, they have this weird chemistry I was not expecting

Overconfident himbo and aloof, pragmatic over thinker. It’s guaranteed chemistry, much like Hubert and Ferdinand in Three Houses.

quick question about a class I unlocked last night before I look into it more

do I need a Soulhacker in the party while killing unique monsters to gain effects from it?

Honestly. Lanz and Taion got more going on than the "canonical pairing" of Eunie and Taion
To be fair I don't think Eunie and Taion were ever canonically romantically paired beyond some one way flirting.... which.... well, Lanz and Taion...

Ya'll say that, but I'm personally glad the romantic pairing is only between Noah and Mio. It makes the chemistry and relationships between everybody not only good, but also realistic.

Just watched the cutscene in chapter 4 where the party is walking and talking and there are a few shots where the camera is behind Mio's head and the hair bounce is absolutely mesmerising.

Melia's quest is so  I might actually need to play 1 again at some point; I miss that cast. Wonder why they didn't bother to show their new looks. That flashback scene was pulled straight from the DE. Why does Melia always have to suffer?

That was a nice little story, and I was surprised to see follow-up on what happened to most of Garvel's gang here. You really do never know what stuff from the main story is going to be expanded upon in these side quests.

Over 60 hours and just now I realize that you can choose who follows after a Chain Order in a Chain Attack. This practically changes everything.

(Also, the prison section is a bit of a chore).
Man, I just came to this thread to post this. In Chapter 5 as well, and this section is so bad it's unreal. We're at the part where the story should be picking up momentum, and we have a completely unnecessary multi-hour diversion like this? With an insufferable new character, who gets the full flashback-backstory treatment? I mean, we even had to go off doing side-quests to gather intel just to get to this diversion. It's all such blatant filler.

Monolith, guys - what the fuck are we even DOING right now? Feels like 80% of this game has been side-character exposition and diversions so far. Absolutely sick of it.

Yeah, I don't even know how you can think this. The prison part is the only one that drags a bit aside from a few sidequests.

The biggest twist of this all
is that you win the fights in the game
AND ACTUALLY WIN THEM IN THE CUTSCENES

Amigo, you're being overly dramatic at this point.🙄

Edit: Although Ghondor really is a character you either really love or really hate due to her mannerisms. So that point is valid even if I personally like her.

In another example of quests breaking story immersion:
We just had a whole conversation about needing to avoid the hell outta the Colony guarding Keves Castle, came up with an alternate route plan to circumvent the danger, then I saw a ? and went "ooh, quest!" and launched into a Hero quest that took me into, had me defeat the Consul of, destroy the Flame Clock of, and turn to my side, the very colony we just said we need to avoid at all costs.
...

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

After 95 hours, I beat the game! It was fantastic. There is some stuff in the ending I'm not sure about. I want to let my thoughts settle more and rewatch a couple scenes before doing a big write up. Every Xenoblade will have its own strengths and weakness, and there's plenty I can point to that I like more about the others but overall it's an incredible game.

Is this thread fine for discussing the ending as long as we put it in clearly labeled spoiler tags or should that discussion be in the spoiler/leak thread?

One thing that stood out to me in the credits is that Makoto Shimamoto is only credited as a UI planner but not a battle planner. This is the second time Shimamoto did not work on the battle system of a xeno game, the first being Xenosaga 3 where he was only credited under special thanks.

@bellydrum I'd be interested in contributing to your spreadsheet, just let me know the details of what info you want to compile. Like all info on arts and skills? Do you only want their recharges/power multipliers/and similar stuff at rank 20?

Holy SHIT
I was gonna say something when Ashera said "We live in a world of strife" because like LOL SHE SAID THE THING but I just kept going and forgot about it. But now that I've unlocked her class I'm looking at her moveset...
  • Gale Slash
  • Soaring Tempest
  • Blossom Dance
Yall I am beside myself

Holy fuck 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂👍👍👍

I'll DM you a link, I'm totally open for ideas of what could be useful. Right now youbshould be able to see the kind of info I'm gathering.

Man, they really just loaded up all the terrible collection quests into the endgame. Guess that's my cue to actually finish the main plot

Im at chapter 5.

I just reached the City and saw the cutscenes. It was all so interesting and beautiful. I laughed at Taion rushing to touch the baby, it actually brought a smile to my face lol. I can't wait to see where the story goes.

What do you mean by choosing who follows? You mean like when you pick who you want to lead the next Chain Order?

Finished chapter 6 and now onto chapter 7.

My mind is going a billion miles an hour now.

Are there multiple ways to complete the Nopon Register? Some of the stones I've gotten required beating enemies a fair few levels above Lv. 55, and I'm still missing a couple.

I don't get it. What's so funny about that part?
In XC1, Dunban's Talent Art is Blossom Dance, which has him recite a 4 line poem while he attacks:
"Born in a world of strife!
All against the odds!
We choose to fight!
Blossom Dance!"
Tempest Kick and Gale Slash are also Dunban Arts. The voice lines for all of them are seared into my brain lol

At this point I just wanna rush the plot, since I’m spoiled on a decent chunk of it by now. The faster I beat the game, the sooner I get Melia and Nia.

EDIT: Leveling down too. Honestly, that's probably the thing I'm looking forward to most lol
