Yes. ResetEra mods have made the decision to shut this thread down, because it’s obvious that not only are Directs gone and never coming back, but Nintendo is done holding anything that can be called an “event” and thus this thread should be locked. Are we already at "Directs could go away" as it was big theme in 2020?
Could anyone confirm that Pokémon Direct/Presents showcases are usually followed by a regular Nintendo Direct, like the following week?
It's not like I try to get my hopes up Just simple pattern analysis that should give us all the answers we need!
Also Treehouse for Xenoblade 3, Everybody's 1-2 Switch and Splatoon 3. Seems good to me.I still think there should be some sort of presentation because I can‘t believe that they recorded a Treehouse thing just for LiveALive. If they only have some twitter drops this months without Treehouse, there had to be some major change of plans behind the scenes.
Aonuma:"Hey we just released the most ambitious game Nintendo ever produced, wanna see it?"EPD 9 is on the same floor as EPD 3 (Zelda). In Spring 2023: BOTW2 has gone gold hell yeah, what about your game EPD9? Oh, we are doing Booster Course Pass you didn't noticed?
I was laughing when people said ahem we had to see it in a June Direct.I can only laugh when someone says the next time we will see BOTW2 could be as late as February Direct.
We could see it this fall*!I can only laugh when someone says the next time we will see BOTW2 could be as late as February Direct.
yeah, it feels like some have taken my statements to mean that I'm really emotionally hurting from thisI fear some may have taken my previous posting to suggest that I'm over-invested in the hype cycle; I'd want to clarify that it's the lack of communication from Nintendo that's frustrating me overall. Can't even blame them when Covid hit the brakes hard globally; we have a goddamn easy plague to defeat and humanity is failing that miserably.
Twitter drops are not ideal, but at least it's something.
All that being said, if this week ends without consequence it might be as good a time as any for me to step away for a month or so to keep me sane.
We could see it this fall*!
*during another announcement of a delay
haha that was me. But there was no June Direct so no one is a winner.I was laughing when people said ahem we had to see it in a June Direct.
it's a good ass candidate imo. I bet in half an hour we'll get either it or PokémonFurther focusing my energy to help bring the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Boost Course Pass Wave 2 into existence this fine morning.
Last I checked, according to checks notes uh, you, it's tomorrow lolSo, today is the day where Pokéfans will be blessed... right?
Wait, I thought that was only two strikes!Alright Mister, that was the third strike, you're grounded. No TV for you either!
Wait, I thought that was only two strikes!
BotW 2 will be a eShop shadowdrop without much fanfare and will just exist as if it was always there anyway.I can only laugh when someone says the next time we will see BOTW2 could be as late as February Direct.
It may not be an internal Nintendo title, but this is still an interview with developers similar to what we used to see during Treehouse Live pre-pandemic; not to mention if this video was SE's idea I'd imagine it would be on their channel which it is not.Live a Live isn't a Nintendo game. It's a Square Enix game published by Nintendo in the West, and that video was almost definitely Square's idea instead of Nintendo's (especially since it's all in Japanese, the language of the region where SE themselves are publishing/marketing the game). In terms of actual Nintendo titles, their channel doesn't have a single interview in the past year.
Yep. It's annoying, but they have the data.If Nintendo thinks Twitter drops work for them, then go for it. They know what is best for them.
Sorry guys im now being threatened by much bigger companies, i cant do this anymore
To be completely honest the General in Summer was always a fucking nonsense, especially after June Partner which was basically full E3 Direct minus First party titles. And I still don't think they would ever discuss a First party games without a NCL presenter.Yep. It's annoying, but they have the data.
Maybe they think that not doing a summer Direct is better for their summer games. Why announce a full slate for fall early when you want people to buy into summer?
How come? If it releases Holiday 2023, why wouldn’t they show it in February? Not saying that’s the plan but it’s perfectly reasonable to think they may not show it in 2 months in a presumed September direct and wait until closer to release to do a deep diveI can only laugh when someone says the next time we will see BOTW2 could be as late as February Direct.

Will it though, that was just its first delay. It releases in Spring 2023.
The Square Enix channel has no Live a Live content: https://www.youtube.com/c/squareenixna/search?query=live a liveIt may not be an internal Nintendo title, but this is still an interview with developers similar to what we used to see during Treehouse Live pre-pandemic; not to mention if this video was SE's idea I'd imagine it would be on their channel which it is not.
I'm honestly incredibly pleased with the Switch's output this year, especially for the remaining months, so I find it hard to look forward to seeing even more stuff. Though next year does admittedly feel very quiet at the moment.
Switch Sports interview happened not too long ago.The Square Enix channel has no Live a Live content: https://www.youtube.com/c/squareenixna/search?query=live a live
And, no, it is not a Nintendo title. Neither was Octopath, or SMTV, or Bravely Default 2, or Triangle Strategy. They're third-party games that Nintendo publishes and gives prime-time Direct time to in exchange for timed - or exclusive - console exclusivity. As such, you simply can't use it as indication that Nintendo themselves wants to do more developer interviews. It's as much an indication of that as the game itself is of them suddenly doing a HD-2D remake of Earthbound.
I know it's Zelda but I don't think it will be delayed again. The game was probably scheduled for 2021 before COVID and it's already a year later after pandemic. This game cost so much many and it takes too many EPD resources, Zelda needs to release in Spring and am sure it will, it's been a plenty of time. Will it though, that was just its first delay.
Jkjk, I don’t want to manifest that
I'm a Nintendo fan, I'm not excited for the games they've announced and are releasing soon. I'm only excited for the rumored games or games I hope they announce, until they announce them, then they're old news and I don't care anymore. This is where I am at.
Live A Live next week. Xeno 3 for the majority of August. Then Splatoon 3 consumes us all. Lots of smaller meals along the way. Still need to check out Neon White.
So seeing new stuff now would be nice. But I also don't mind waiting with so many great games on the horizon!
Basically. We get to see how Nintendo would do things without E3 and it’s ehSo here's the big thing we've learned: when unshackled from E3 Nintendo wants absolutely fucking nothing to do with summer. News in Q1, news in Q3, that's their groove.
...OK? This has literally nothing to do with the point I was refuting lolSwitch Sports interview happened not too long ago.
You have said that Nintendo doesn't want to do interviews and that Live a Live doesn't disprove your point. And I said that Nintendo did the Switch Sports interview....OK? This has literally nothing to do with the point I was refuting lol
That‘s true for sure. And I understand that they can‘t explain every internal reason why they do something or not.If Nintendo thinks Twitter drops work for them, then go for it. They know what is best for them.
12 minutes.I can never remember how the timezones work, should I be expecting disappointment in twelve minutes, or one hour and twelve minutes?
