If I had to guess for next week. I think a pokemon trailer is almost guaranteed and a Bayo trailer is also on the docket, especially with the rumored October release date. Whether something bigger than that comes idk, but those 2 I feel are fairy likely

Nintendo Directs need anime style openings and endings. Then you have the really hype Directs with cold openings or endings where the credits play during the actual announcements and trailers.

Hiroyuki Sawano will compose for every new Direct for maximum weeb energy. It won't be that demanding. Just change when the chorus kicks and boom, new Sawano song!
 
The best part of any Sawano song is the moment you realize that the lyrics are entirely in English and not Japanese like you thought.

Absolutely loved Splatoon 2 when it released, but not sure if I put more then 50 hours into it. Hoping 3 has like one more mode or something, but definitely picking it up.

Oh god this reminded me of something from my childhood (nostalgia story warning - it's fine to skip this post if you don't care about Pokemon or stupid children)

My sister and I were obsessed with Pokemon: we watched the anime, collected the cards, collected the toys and plushies and went to Burger King multiple times solely because the kids meals had Pokemon stuff. We wore pokemon shirts and had a bookshelf full of novelizations and guidebooks and stuff (almost all of this stuff came from thrift stores, btw). We sang the theme songs on the swingset. We were OBSESSED.

I'm sure you remember those silly playground rumors about Mew under the truck and all that jazz; I accidentally created a stupid rumor of my own, by convincing myself of something baselessly and then letting my conviction convince others.

Some of the cards at the time were 'Level X', which we assumed meant it was leveled beyond Lvl.100. We played the games so much (I had over six hundred hours logged in Diamond, and probably a thousand hours across the series by that point) that we knew that it didn't exist in the games... Or did it? While organizing my cards one day I read the description for the premier ball: "Search your deck or your discard pile for a Pokemon Lv.X . . . and put it in your hand."

So I told my sister you could get a level X pokemon in diamond and pearl if you caught it in a premier ball, raised it to level 100, and fed it a rare candy to level up. And she believed me, because I believed it, because I was a stupid little idiot who also thought ESP was real for a good few months and ghosts for even longer. I spent hours grinding to get my Staraptor to level one hundred, and fed it the rare candy and I was crushed when it gave me the standard message explaining it won't achieve anything.

Popped Splatoon 2 into my Switch to check the playtime and it's 140+. God I'm such a fake fan
 
220 hours. And I've had it since launch

God I remember the absolute shitshow that was trying to buy the game on the eShop when it came out since pre-loads didn't become an option until right before Mario Odyssey
