Annoucing a special edition oled... seems to me 2022 is gonna be like they said, coasting on the current lineup and the three actual switch model.
That could also mean summer is gonna be news drop here and there.

tangerine_cookie's avatar also reminded me that marina has immaculate new drip

that ought to be upgrade enough tbh

I know that I personally am guilty of engaging with discussion of a series or game online when I have little knowledge of it. As Nintendo fans, I imagine a lot of us do. All the same, it has really surprised me how many people have completely dismissed Splatoon 3 despite all of the foundational improvements to gameplay.

I imagine it's mostly the sort of people who don't really play multiplayer games. A multiplayer game is all about those fundamentals, because you'll play the same content hundreds, or even thousands, of times. The improved movement, new mobility options, overhauled specials, and better stage design all combine to make this a very, very compelling upgrade from 2.
I hardly play multiplayer games but Splatoon 2 is amazing and especially the Octo expansion which is pure Bliss. Splatoon 3 is going to be amazing, it looks more face pace, intense and the music is just 👌.

of course when I write more than a single sentence I wind up at the bottom of the page

I swear there’s going to be some dudes talking how Nintendo f’ed us again. First Xenoblade 3 direct, then Mini direct and a Splatoon 3 knife OLED switch to the back
The irony being that the two presentations they've had so far have been pretty great (I'm not even a Xenoblade fan, but it was meaty!) and Splatoon is going to sell like hot cakes so of course it would get its own spotlight.

Anything to avoid Summer Games Mess.

Personally I just wanna see whether they'll add some much-needed QoL features to the game. Splatoon 1 and, to a lesser extent, 2 both felt like games that went against the way I want to play them; from the unskippable startup cutscene to the arbitrarily locked-off game modes to the completely random equipment skills (unless you play for many, many hours to re-roll) to being kicked out of a lobby every single time you play a very-short match. All are just... not fun to me.

Like with Halo: Infinite it feels like it doesn't respect my freedom as a player, and I'm not a big fan of that at all. It wants me playing X mode at Y time whether I want to or not. So I definitely hope that 3 changes things in that regard.

It seems to very much be a Splatoon thing - the same kind of info for Smash would have people salivating. Maybe because it's a younger franchise so some of us boomers consider it lesser?

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense.

Okay there's like a lot of things being thrown around, Bayonetta, Splatoon 3 OLED, Drake... what's it going to be today? I can't keep up:p

It just makes too much sense and not try to pretend it does not. Splatoon JP would already tweeted something by now.

A little while ago I was describing how I believe apartments could fit into Splatoon 3, how they would benefit QOL, and why I think they might actually be coming. Since this might be my last chance before they are confirmed or disconfirmed, allow me to take the opportunity to document my vision.

When you start Splatoon 3, you roll out of bed in your apartment. You have a laptop, smartphone, and closet all in a relatively small space. This way you can tune in to the new idols' livestream detailing the current rotation, change your equipment, and invite your friends to join your lobby or join theirs. Then, whether alone or with friends, you enter the main hub. This way you can perform all of the primary functions very quickly and optionally and enjoy the slower ones with friends in the hub. In addition to the obvious decoupling of lobby and game mode, this also would allow other players to shop in your hub's daily rotation and vice-versa.

As for why I think they might happen? Well, the hub is a dense urban environment with corridors shadowed by tons of apartments. It's also been a requested feature since the first game, and Animal Crossing is more popular than ever. My most trivial piece of evidence, however, is also the one I'm most confident in: the drum break that plays in the Splatoon 3 reveal when the hub is first shown is the same drum break from the original Splatoon startup, which shows a player apartment.

Also how does a Splatoon 3 OLED further confirm Switch Pro/Drake stuff

Because both uncles also said something about Drake. One uncle said plastic shells are in production for a new special version OLED and a new model, and other uncle said Drake is 2022 before dropping that Splatoon 3 OLED thing today.

I didn't want to say it but it's 100% Nintendo boomers

8 minutes until the shattering of either the universe or the hype.

Or 1 hour? Can’t keep up with the daylight stuff anymore.
