I feel the pro is going to be so impossible to get already, they don’t need a limited edition version making it even harder.

Also tbh announcing/releasing a special oled is a great way to ensure the customer base that the Pro isn’t replacing the base switch and that the upgrade is totally optional

This whole OLED/Pro speculation makes me sad in one thing and that is the people who are saying that Lite trailer went private at the same time + jp one being private too. People don't even check.

Switch Pro and Metroid Prime Remaster are Nintendo’s longest going rumors. They’ve been through iterations since their first rumors. It’s only fitting they both come together.

Yeah, this is always one of the most predictable yet frustrating responses.

Nate: I believe Switch Pro will be 2022. But maybe there's two devices and one is coming 2021?
Mochi: I have heard of a device with 4K DLSS and an OLED screen
Switch OLED: is announced
Believers: I guess Nate was right and Mochi conflated two devices
Non-believers: HA YOU IDIOTS I TOLD YOU THERE WAS NO SWITCH PRO!
 
Can someone fill me on why we’re expecting a Splatoon Oled? And how it correlates to the new hardware announcement soon. Unless its some joke I missed.

Also is a Pokémon Oled not in the cards? I see that being more likely than Splatoon honestly.

Given that Drake (which is what i use to avoid Pro/2 discussions) is likely coming in hot and in very limited numbers (applies for both, a 2022 or a 2023 release), i think there's absolutely no chance for them to even entertain the idea of special Drake editions until some while after launch.

Nintendo can do both Splatoon and Pokemon OLED versions but I think Pokemon will get a Lite version again
 
If I one day become a Nintendo employee I will definitely be coming here to see all the reactions people have when we don't post a tweet at the usual times.

What’s the sense of releasing a revision in september then announcing a enhanced console some days later (or even one month later) It won’t help sales of a supposed Splatoon 3 themed OLED since people would get straight on the newer console

Supposed you’re saying a September announcement for a New Nintendo Switch
 
I’m glad daylight savings time will be permanent. When I hear from small businesses it’s better for them because it decreases the chances for robbery (since it gets darker earlier with no DST) I’m all for it. Give me more light later in the day. I can be out later.

Shame I don't really care about Splatoon but I'm happy Splatoon fans will be eating good I guess.

Believe it or not they have a history of doing special editions shortly before or after revisions.

It's a way to help move stock of the old model since most people will want to get the new one.
