??? weird. Coulda swore I saw it was on sale there and then I rushed here to tell someone who had said they were waiting for a sale but I forgot who it was and opted to shut up.It’s never been on sale on the Eshop tho, just checked Deku deals
I remember getting the game a bit late, just a few weeks before Christmas (late birthday gift) so I have so many great memories of playing OoT in the lead up to the holiday. Decorating the tree and having random Christmas music faintly in the background while playing, getting off of school on holiday break and being able to play a lot more, etc.The year is 1998.
You get home from school, and fire up Ocarina of Time on your N64. The little tube TV in your bedroom thumps to life with a pulse of static electricity. You've been waiting all day for this, scribbling baddies and items from the game into the margins of your notebook in class.
You leave Kokiri village, and see Hyrule Field stretching out before you as far as the horizon as the sun sets.
You can't wait to see what lies ahead, and you can't wait for the weekend cos your friend is coming over and bringing his controller so you can go head to head in Goldeneye.

We searched an entire mall in Oregon for a copy and we’re able to get a gold one on Black Friday of all days.I remember getting the game a bit late, just a few weeks before Christmas (late birthday gift) so I have so many great memories of playing OoT in the lead up to the holiday. I remember doing a day trip to the mountains to hike with my dad and constantly thinking about Link becoming adult Link and the redeads in the market and how bleak it was the entire time since that’s the part I had just gotten to.
Apparently there were gray 1.1 version carts that had those aspects. V1.2 was when the things were removed according to this 11 year old gamefaq thread I just read. Has to be trueSo speaking of OoT. I think I might have had a rare copy? I searched online at the time and it said only the gold carts had the crescent moons, Muslim chanting in the fire temple, and red blood, but my gray copy had all of that. So is this wrong and some gray copies had the removed content? I feel like this has to be wrong. Really wish I didn't lose my N64 in the move.
Okay that makes sense and I figured it was wrong. It's just weird because my N64 and the games I got were years after release so you'd think the 1.1 version would have been sold by then but I guess N64 did sell terribly but I also think US was one of it's stronger markets.Apparently there were gray 1.1 version carts that had those aspects. Pokemon started 27 years ago and Ash was 10 when Pokemon started. IRL he’s 37.
what a terrible time, unlike my Speedrun-esque sliding under that refund time frame to deny him my moneyHe apologized about the stuff he said five years ago, but how good the apology is up to interpretation, and I think the racist thing that people are talking about is Mr. pinch who is based on Ebeneezer Scrooge and Mr. Burns, but could be interpreted as a racist Jewish stereotype
Mr. Pinch
Mr. Pinch is an enemy in Pizza Tower. Mr. Pinch is a man made of cheese with a floating hand with dark orange nails, connected to the main body with several black orbs. He wears a top hat, has a pointy nose, and has a big grin. He sits inside a pipe, with a smaller arm showing. Mr. Pinch floats...pizzatower.fandom.com
Golden cartridge was version 1.0, grey cartridges had versions 1.1 and 1.2. 1.1 still has that stuff, it was removed in 1.2.So speaking of OoT. I think I might have had a rare copy? Toby Fox is going to put a character viewer in Alternude because of this post
I love games
don't look at the games too closely, otherwise the appeal to emotion doesn't really work
I'm actually making one that doesn't have cool downs, but the MP system works inversely so that you build up MP rather than deplete it. And once it's at the max of the MP bar, you don't have to stop using spells, you just have to realize that using more MP will start damaging your HP. So it's a tradeoff of how desperate you are to use more magic. This is kind of random but I've been thinking about how I don't particularly like mana/energy system management these days and I actually prefer ability cool downs instead. But I feel like ability cool downs have been only in action RPGs. Is there a turn based RPG with ability cool downs and no mana/energy management system? I can't think of any.
IIRC the Zeboyd RPG games all have this like Cthulhu Saves The World and Cosmic Star Heroine. You’ll use an ability and then you can’t use it again for X number of turns. I’m like 50/50 that’s how they worked. I never beat any because I always would get pulled away for whatever reason, but they all seemed cool. One day! This is kind of random but I've been thinking about how I don't particularly like mana/energy system management these days and I actually prefer ability cool downs instead. Unless someone is secretly planning one, seemingly no one :/Cereza and the Lost Demon releases tomorrow, anyone doing a ST?
I'm excited about it! I hope it does better than what it feels like it's going to do..
New Splatfest theme is great lol.

Should be a similar sale in NA this afternoon. Hoping for half off Saga FrontierSqueenix sale on the UK eShop, including recent games like Dragon Quest Treasures (-40%), FF Crisis Core (-20%), Harvestella (-30%).
I'd be tempted by similar prices for physical copies.
