I like how even though it’s a Partner we are most expecting, we are still beginning to chug a bit here under the excitement.

Today’s theme is original video game vocal songs! Ideally these are songs with lyrics, but I’ll accept any song with vocals (ie chants and shouts are fine) to open this up to more fun songs! Any language, including fictional language, is fine.

I’ll kick things off with my favorite original vocal song in a Nintendo game, Reincarnation from Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. Yoshino Nanjo of Love Live fame absolutely killed it with this song and the moment I heard it I knew that game was going to be absolutely special.

Nintendo basically have a free run at the end of the year to launch their console with no big PS5 games launching with a PS5 Pro etc... (even though its a niche pro console, i think Nintendo largely having Christmas/Black Friday to themselves for big hardware spends will only help Switch 2 launch well) and the partner direct basically just confirms Switch 2 - so yeah expect Nintendo to be busy but might be slow between March and whenever Switch 2 launches (probably around September) - they'll have big games in the fall even if Sony don't (obviously MS have Indiana Jones and a few things on the way too)

Those Who Fight Further has had a special place in my heart for decades. It’s an absolute beast of a boss track. But I’ve always felt that all of the hundreds of fan covers of it with line-in distortion guitars and programmed drums has felt kind of meh. So imagine my excitement and euphoria when the Airbuster theme comes on in FFVII Remake and it’s everything I’ve ever wanted Those Who Fight Further to be!

Yup! The Airbuster is just absolute perfection. Was blown away by the soundtrack there. It gave me chills. I also couldn’t believe such an epic boss fight was followed up with another rad boss fight.
 
So since Kid Icarus Uprising was made by Sora Ltd… it could show in a partner showcase, right?

I want Kid Icarus Uprising on Switch so bad.
 
We're just going to keep trying to stretch the definition of partners to fuel our hype for Nintendo-related announcements, huh? This won't be an annoying 24 hours at all.
