I am very curious what they'll do next with Fire Emblem. Engage was a bit more traditional but it was an anniversary project, so that makes sense. It would probably be hard to recapture the success of 3H again but if they take what worked and refined the things that were a bit of a mess (the whole monastery stuff was fun the first time but became a bit of a slog the second/third time around), that'd be great!

OK so this:

Just started my pre-Rebirth replay of FFVII Remake and, damn, it was so liberating to look at the 20 trophies I'd yet to get - including hard mode - and just go "Nope. Not gonna bother getting those and just enjoy the replay on Normal." Trophies are fun to get sometimes but others they do definitely hinder your potential enjoyment of a game.

Isn't actually true anymore.

I'm actually on Chapter 10 of my Hard Mode playthrough and am planning on getting the Platinum. Got to a point where I just thought I might as well be 'finished' with the game completely, so I can focus my full attention on Rebirth when that releases. I also just like trophy-hunting sometimes lol.

And, frankly, I'm glad I am doing it. Hard Mode in this game genuinely gets you to engage with the gameplay far more than Normal does. For every boss you have to engage with their weaknesses, attack patterns, and different ways of pressuring/staggering them. Even normal enemies - whilst still relatively easy - can prove a challenge if you're not prepared.

Though, goddamn, I did not appreciate the trophy that has you replaying three of the game's longest and most annoying chapters three times each at minimum. I'm just relieved it's over, and I can now focus on the actual fun stuff like superbosses and such.
