It would be a hell of a special edition. If they made that, I kinda think I'd be tempted to buy one.Turns out the real Switch 2 was the Wii U we bought along the way.
On one hand, if I'd known in 2021 that we'd have to wait until March 2024 for more beefy Switching, I wouldn't have anticipated it as much as I have . On the other hand, super glad to hear it's finally coming!
Also, just been listening to Nate's podcast, and I'm going to be honest: John is a much better co-host than MVG. Just generally more energetic, more articulated. Much more enjoyable.
While I highly respect Nate, I think a lot of us here agree that the whole no joycons idea is seemingly uninformed at best given how much evidence we have that the system will have them. I'm sure he has good reasons for believing that it may be possible, though.Man if I was Nate reading that people shouldn’t give what I say any thought unless it’s a leak, I sure wouldn’t want to continue sharing anything!
Boo to you sir. Boo to you.To be fair, MVG is 50 years old now, and John is maybe 40 at most? Energy levels wise, age could be a factor here. Other than that, can't say for sure. I disagree on articulation though as despite MVG being an Aussie, I can understand his accent just fine.
It’s certainly possible. The Wii remote is a good example. It felt comfortable holding it the standard way and holding it sideways when playing NES VC games.Something people need to take into account with wanting better Joy Cons and a more comfortable grip…
They need to also feel good when played in the NES and Wii styles. I think that’s what played a part in the shape of the current Joy Cons since they work with all forms of gameplay. Their feeling is quite neutral.
Holy shit it's happening. Okay.I can corroborate independently on Nate's claim of March as a reveal month for Switch 2
Holy shit it's happening. Okay.
3D Mario plus gimmick game at Launch in September and for the holidays either the Pokemon Unova game or Metroid Prime 4.September release for the hardcores, Holiday for the casuals.
Wonder what their Holiday game will be?
can't wait for Nintendo to finally give us a 3D Mario autorunner!3D Mario plus gimmick game at Launch in September and for the holidays either the Pokemon Unova game or Metroid Prime 4.
some speculation is alarmist. just pure fantasy or there is no logic sometimes in what is being said. Now, everyone has a right to say their opinion but DF ahould understand what they has some sort of influence. I have no hate against DF they are awesome at what they do but unfounded speculation does harm to a community.
As an example look Xbox meltdown this week, this was all done with I would consider alarmist speculation. Not every speculation is healthy. Feel free to disagree, these are just my thoughts.

Team 2025... our response?
i havent found any evidence for nvidia having any fab time scheduled with samsung. if anyone could find it then i would accept samsung still being on the table, but until then i have to consider tsmc the only option.Speculating that the chip's manufactured on 8nm isn't alarmist. They're just basing it on what Kopite7kimi tweeted back in the day, and that's... fine. They're welcome to have whatever opinion they want, and it's not harming anyone to speculate about something which may end up being wrong.
The truth is that the manufacturing process just doesn't matter that much at this point. If we knew nothing about T239, then the manufacturing process would be very important, because it would give us a range of expectations on how big the GPU is. Without any other knowledge, I might have estimated 4-6 SMs on 8nm, or 8-12 SMs on 4nm, so the choice of node could mean as much as a 2x difference in performance.
With knowledge that it's a 12 SM GPU, and 8 core CPU, then either they (as I expect) have gone with 4nm, or they've managed to make some kind of magical optimisations to the chip on 8nm to make it work. Or we get some unlikely in-between, like TSMC N6, or one of Samsung's 5nm/4nm processes. In any case we get the same GPU and CPU. Clock speeds might be a bit different, but honestly an 8nm T239 would probably only be clocked perhaps 20% lower than a 4nm one, because it simply wouldn't make sense to design the chip like that otherwise.
That's a little too on the nose don't you think? If it was a game like and he made a prediction like Jon from GVG, sure. But something that specific? I think that it is something else.* Hidden text: cannot be quoted. *
Damn leap years too making our February this year a day longer and making us all wait for one more spin of our planet around its axis before Switch 2 is revealed. Now that Switch 2 reveal is confirmed for March by two very trustworthy insiders, February will end up feeling even longer than January, even with two fewer days in the month and more actual presentations lol. Nothing stops this hype train
No way, They would never put such big titles so close to each other and historically Mario Kart always came out 1-1.5 years after the console launch, MK10 is definitely a 2025 title probably the 2025 holiday title.September 3D Mario, Holiday Mario Kart 9/10X?
It's kind of like using a hammer with an unsanded wooden handle before suddenly using a Wilton-branded Sledgehammer with a rubber grip. Different purposes, sure, but the difference in ergonomics makes a lot of difference and feels a lot better to use.I've gotten the chance to play my cousin's Steam Deck for a couple of hours, and I've got to agree. Initially, I remember people being put off by how it looked, but man, maybe it's because I'm old at this point the thing, weight and all feels so much more comfortable than the flatness of the Switch. Buttons are huge, and the control sticks feel like actual high quality control sticks, it's great.
We should totally have been on the World Calendar.Damn leap years too making our February this year a day longer.

They never actually said anything about node btw, you can just infer it through other things they said.Speculating that the chip's manufactured on 8nm isn't alarmist. They're welcome to have whatever opinion they want, and it's not harming anyone to speculate about something which may end up being wrong..
It's a wii U power supply to power the unit, it has no battery, I'm guessing they just had millions left over lolSo my prediction of March 20th for a reveal still holds up then? Awesome.
I just noticed looking at the IO in the back that it's using the Wii/Wii U PSU connector. Wonder how some folks interpreted that back in 2016.
So is that a Pro, or a Con?
Tom Warren is probably too focused on the Xbox stuff right now (let's be honest, most industry discussion is revolving that right now), but we might see another stray journalist corroborate it... I hope at least. Now if we would could also get Andy Robinson, Eurogamer, or even Tom Warren to corroborate as well then i think we will be smooth sailing for March

For the "new" grip with new Joycons right? I'd be interested to see such a mockup of this, if no one here has made such a mockup yet.Anyone have a photoshop mock-up made of the new console using the dimensions we’ve got? I’d love to get an idea of the size compared to the existing Switch models

I'd accept even a paintbrush drawing, I have so much difficulty imagining size of stuffAnyone have a photoshop mock-up made of the new console using the dimensions we’ve got? I’d love to get an idea of the size compared to the existing Switch models
to be fair, the 3050 6GB looks to be a repurposed laptop chip. Ampere isn't in production anymore outside of GA107s it seems, and that's probably low volume, much like Orin. I don't think Nvidia has much money invested in Samsung for capacity, unlike TSMC, whom was leaked to have placed orders for 3nm since summer last yearThey're going to continue manufacturing Ampere GPUs on Samsung's 8nm process for a while (they just announced a 6GB RTX 3050), and will produce Orin on Samsung 8nm for a long time after that. So if T239 were on Samsung 8nm, it would just be a continuation of their existing arrangement with Samsung.
Nintendo be cooking, that’s why there’s smokeHoly shit… things are getting good
