Nope, this was their own leak. People added on after.
Many people knew the lineup. Nick was the one who mentioned a lot publicly. There were claims the lineup was posted in select Discord over the weekend -- I have no idea. I just know I was given the entire lineup in advance of his tweet but I didn't leak anything as my contact didn't want such details shared in advance.

Sad that Brazil don't have GameStop... Good that this can't block moves from local chatters, right?

Nope, It was Nick
Huh. Interesting cause I recall reading that stuff was going around before being made public by them as it reached them.

Tho regardless. Even if it was a good outcome.

I wouldn’t take Nick leaks for Nintendo stuffs. He’s been wrong before on the Nintendo end. Already missed before. And we got folks here calling a direct first week of February for a while

What the hell has been going on today. I decided today was my day to play Infinite Wealth and tuned out the world for like 6 hours, and I come back to like 10+ pages between this thread and the hardware thread. Shit looks like it went down lmao.

So as far as Direct smoke goes we basically have this:
  • Nate knows the format of the Direct but not the date or timing
  • Pyoro just hasn't heard anything at all

Not too much smoke it seems, perhaps we wait another week then?
We have a hint from a reliable insider for next week?

Nate knows the format of the direct, but not the date. He hasn’t said one way or the other yet whether it is a General, Mini, or Partner. People are setting up camps for what that would mean as normally Nate knows the time, but not the format.

Not sure what to make of it myself. Still thinking a General Direct with at least DK regardless. Hope Prime 4 will be there, would be so cool to finally see it :)
Thanks for explaining!!!
I really wonder if he knows it's not a Mini due to a big game set to be revealed there, or if he got to know it's gonna be a Mini but not the contents.
Anyways I hope it's a general and that Metroid Prime 4 finally shows up. It's been 5 years since the reboot announcement, we're starving to see it!!
Also I believe they'll reveal it on the Switch and then show it on the Switch 2 reveal trailer just like BotW being fully revealed for Wii U at E3 2016 and then appearing on the Switch trailer and being dated on the event.
If it is a Mini Direct, what are we expecting to show up in it? Are y'all expecting it to be a good Mini?
I think it's bound to be a meaty Direct regardless of the format considering we only know of the lineup until March.
I think:
  • Hi-Fi Rush;
  • Metroid Prime 2 Remastered;
  • Fire Emblem 4 remake;
  • Princess Peach Showtime new trailer and demo;
  • Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door date;
  • Red Dead Redemption 2??

Would make a very meaty presentation. But again, I'd highly prefer a general revealing Metroid Prime 4/DK/a game for fall and more first party games that aren't remasters or remakes.

there's also the billbil-kun tweet from a while ago indicating a direct+indie shadowdrop was coming within 15 days (with the tweet itself being from Jan 26)

they're not usually a Nintendo leaker, but from what I've seen their record on other things is nearly spotless, so it'd be weird for them to go out on a limb with something they weren't sure about here

Oh shoot, that's right.

Nate has already said that they don't know a date. The Direct might not be next week, but I wouldn't take this as a deconfirmation.
Yeah, maybe this Direct doesn't have a game from a publisher where Nate's contacts are. Maybe Nate will hear about it as we get close to the date. First week of February is the usual Direct date, I don't think it'll be different here.

Switch era February dates have been:
  • February 13, 2019
  • February 17, 2021
  • February 9, 2022
  • February 8, 2023
Do these dates count as first week? Both the 2022 and 2023 Feb Directs were the 2nd Wednesdays of the month.

Yeah, you can say first "full" week of February. 8th last year, 9th a year before that and now on the 7th. Makes sense, doesn't it.

Hope there's some unexpected 1st party games announced in the direct. Along with a please join us in march to see the next generation of Nintendo at the end.

People are really wishing it would be next week(me included!). But if its the week after which is probably the latest, no big deal really. I would wait to see what happens after this weekend

Interesting, so we're looking at a Mario-vs-DK-week/Valentines Direct at the earliest. I know it's typically unusual for Nintendo to drop a Direct right near a notable release, but the game is a fairly small, budget-price release. In hindsight, it's not the most shocking thing, even if next week makes the most sense under normal circumstances.

Oh ye of little faith. The Fresh Prophet himself said it’s on the 7th, so it’s on the 7th.

Unless it isn’t. In which case I will… err… eat Subway.

Valentines direct with Ace Attorney 7, Star Force Collection, Xenoblade X and Kid Icarus Uprising

Then I woke up

The Nintendo Direct may be out but nobody asked the insiders about the Zelda HD Remasters Direct we're getting this week... ;)

Watch this be another Byleth in Smash situation, where Nintendo cracks down hard on leaks and employs utter secrecy for the most mid direct ever conceived.

If the Direct isn't next week, where is this indie game being shadowdropped at? Because that insider has a pretty great track record. And it's not like Nintendo can delay the Direct, Evening Star and Private Division would get screwed over and would have to alter their release plans.

Something isn't adding up here.

It's been 4 years. Byleth can't hurt you anymore. Or can they...

Don’t get me wrong, I loved that presentation. I wanted Byleth in smash, and he’s my favorite character in the game.

But damn, given how much buildup there was to that reveal, it’s still one of if not the funniest gaming presentation I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching live.

Nintendo will reveal their next generation console: The Super Nintendo Gamecube. The device is usable portable or docked. While portable, the device unfolds much like a Nintendo DS. The device resembles a Gamecube with the Gameboy Advanced player attached, but to a much smaller scale.
None of this is real.
