StarTopic Future Nintendo Hardware & Technology Speculation & Discussion |ST| (Read the staff posts before commenting!)

Inconclusive, I think (unless the ones discussing this one disagrees with me).

I think it's just Switch 1 stuff.
It's inconclusive but it's definitely weird and worth noting. Not only is "New Ringfit" new terminology, the official title of the first game is "Ring Fit". Furthermore, these shipments are very small, in line with dev kit numbers, they could be for developing drivers, or they could be for internal playtesting, or they could be to show the press the new game once they've announced it and the NG Switch.

Honestly I can see N taking advantage of the regulation and selling Switch 2 with a cheap battery while also selling separately a better battery (for big money 😂).
They did this for Wii U GamePad. It did not go over well.

Or shipments are very small, like expected sales for a game that's been on the market for 4 years?

No offense but I find it funny that you decided to drop your fanfic at the same time as LiC posted real evidence about T239 being the confirmed SoC while all the media outlets picked your clickbait story while ignoring the real facts, peak gaming "journalism" but that's probably my paranoia talking so don't mind me lol
Dude, you should be the last person to be saying this sort of stuff, lmao.

Ugh, Spawn Wave reporting on Switch NG. Why do these clickbait news sources/YouTubers report on fake leaks after they've been publicly debunked? Like I get rushing out to report on them before they're confirmed but why do this?
Small blessing, it means that the actual things we can look at (being the shipment leaks) don't get reported on. It's like looking at a fireworks show and failing to notice the sparks of a fire.

Nah spawn wave is a decent guy and makes great content, but it is lame that he decided to make a whole video about that dumb "leak".

I wake up and I'm already 2 pages behind and I gotta get ready for work......

Re: Holiday ads, I see this as the same way we see Christmas ads at the start of November (and sometimes October!). Hell, I've seen Halloween decorations as early as September, it's just something that happens nowadays.

“Hey don’t look at me I’m just telling you the news”

I agree "New" next to Ringfit Adventure is interesting.

But the destinations were Click Entertainment and that "K" (don't care to remember spelling) shipment facilitator company. If it was DDK/tech research or such, I would think it would go to either Nintendo or Nvidia, which isn't the case here. Plus they wouldn't need that many, I would think, for DDK or tech work/research.

Carpa X1 devkits, functional test PCAs, and T239 adaptor pedestal, all going to "Nvidia Graphics Private Limited" in India, are only a few or several at most.

It's not something that happens with Nintendo, at least not to my recollection. They usually put out that Mario Kart 8 Switch bundle a few weeks before black friday, not in September.
Holidays stuff also just doesn't happen this early iirc. This is egregiously early for Nintendo.
Guys don't spend $3000 on shit like this. It ain't that serious. We will see if a H1 release is real in just a few weeks.
If we follow the principles of the "6 months reveal to release" concept, the May release date probably means that we're getting news around November, December or even January time. Waiting a bit longer won't kill us.

Spending 3 grand for a chance to see when a new Nintendo console is releasing because you're obsessed with a march release is WILD.

We're reaching levels of unhinged that defies belief.

That being said, someone is going to do it. Just a matter of when.

Don't tell others how to spend their money.

That's for a year, a month would be plenty for us. That's 3k/12=250. So adjusting for a year being the cheaper option say 300. 30 of us donate 10$ and we're there.

Depends on what he's saying. If he's just reporting it as a rumor that may or may not be true then yeah that's a bit frustrating since it's been widely debunked. But imo there's no issue with making a video about why it's bunk.

Yeah I watched the video, very clearly seems like he doesn't believe it at all. He also clarified the fact that it's a rumour and that I said as such at the time. It was mainly a video discussing his thoughts on specific pieces of information, in addition to why he thinks it's bunk.

Seems like a nice dude, I like him.

Spawn Wave is one of those guys who pretends to care about accuracy and does the whole "I'm just a middle-man" thing. The fence sitter thing is pretty lame.

Most of these guys are poorly researched because they just want the views and everyone will forget about the piles of shit content they leave behind when the console comes out, then they can spend the new generation catching a HUGE wave of views and subs with the Switch NG community (can barely blame them).

Even the people like sw*tchforce, andr*srestart and nintendo pr*me (banned but still here btw) who actually frequent this forum have made some of the worst videos covering topics i've ever seen. Like the resources are in front of them and nintendotubers (as well as mainstream gaming media like ign) can barely regurgitate the correct info. I mean would it kill one of these guys to use the literal comprehensive summary on page 1 to make an actual good video with the history of everything we know rather than these quick fire every day 'speculation' fanfics? I'm not this mad I just have time today lololol

i hate games 'journalism'

Yeah I've told him I was kidding and made it clear that was my paranoia talking

I've spent the whole day looking at import data yesterday so I need a break, I can't check the other pages data it requests a higher tier subscription around $3000 a year, wanna chime in ?
$3000 FOR THIS???????

Maybe OJ/PlayerEssence will correct him on the upcoming Spawncast episode. lol

That's mainly what reporters seem to do. If one of those kinds of people at least accurately talk about the leak/rumour and discuss it properly, I don't take issue with them. It's mainly the reactionary groups like WFFC or those fanboy news-sites that I genuinely hate. They're the ones that are just wrong for views.

SpawnWave at least was upfront in trying to find the images at their source and talked about the rumour as a rumour (even if I take issue with how the title said "leak" but whatever).

The framing of a headline matters more than the articles contents to 80% of the readers tbh. Guy knows what he's doing lol

No, a proper reporter would follow up with sources, which I don't think Spawnwave did.

Just reporting what was heard as rumors out, without following up with sources out there isn't good journalistic reporting.

Eurogamer and VGC correctly handled the Gamescom leak. They followed up with sources before publishing, as an example.

A lot of places like that don't let you do a monthly subscription

That's fair. I'd still argue it's nowhere near as bad as the other "news" outlets who talked about/spread the rumour, but it's still not great.

Do the companies listed have any meaningful relationship with Nintendo? They look like third party importers.

If I were to make a guess, Click Entertainment (that deals in video games consoles it seem) and the other company is simply distributing to other places. Distributors handles the logistics of sending to different stores/locations, dividing up large shipments into smaller shipments.

Looked into it and, yup, Nintendo is listed as a publisher that they work with.

If you don't mind, how did you come across "BS INTL NETWORKS PTE LTD"? You mentioned others pointed it out, but I can't find how that was reached.

I should update my methodology with finding company name behind those redacted characters (I'm only using one site for that) and it's a bit rudimentary. Unless it requires paid access, then nvm.

There is two shipments, they include shipper, consignee and importer

Right, where did "BS INTL NETWORKS PTE LTD" come from specifically? Paid access, or free access?

If it was free access, what were the steps/details in figuring that out? I have a methodology - perhaps too rudimentary - which is inserting keywords into the Volza front page, but I never got hits on "new ringfit adventure" there, so I'm wondering how the rest of you managed to get that bit from.

BS INTL NETWORKS is one of the shipper, not sure if you can see this info on a free website

You don't have to spend 3000 dollars, because I can tell you right now that whatever is in there will confirm 100% a 2023 reveal for a March release.
Nah it'll confirm nothing at all and be a waste of money since I'm sure confidential materials won't be visible on any of these manifests

It seems like Nintendo is using a service where the contents are comically hard to view because of this express reason. Keeping it private is, naturally, top priority to them.

I don't know for sure if this is the case, but it's the only way it makes sense to me.

Ah I take it was only shown in paid access then probably. I haven't been able to retrace the steps using free access, so that's why I was asking about the methodology. At least I CAN see company name for majority of stuff talked about here - just not for "New Ringfit Adventure", strangely enough.

Wanted to compare notes on methodologies used for a moment, thanks.

Nah, it's not Nintendo, it's just shipment data aggregator websites.

They want you to pay to access their data (A common business model, paying for data).

Yeah that's fair.
Idk, thinking of crack theories at this point is practically half the fun of theorising about the new console.

Because their revenue stream is predicated on views. So it doesn't matter whether or not something is accurate - whatever gets people to click on your videos = more money.

4 raw tflops on docked mode is way more than enough and far more than any of us were every expecting, zero complaints there if that's how it ends up.
It is basically on the level of the Series S at that point. Not literally because of the CPU and memory bandwidth, but those 4 TFLOPS would be totally legit.
