StarTopic Future Nintendo Hardware & Technology Speculation & Discussion |ST| (Read the staff posts before commenting!)

I can’t read through 50 ducking pages again.

Have I missed anything of relevance, or is the usual doom and gloom, followed by heightened curiosity with hope, only to repeat itself?

Some interesting info in export/imports websites, T239 movements between Nvidia headquarters but nothing spectacular

1: We already have strong evidence that the Switch 2 won't have cameras.

2: Gimmick or otherwise, if 99.9% of games won't/ can't use it, it isn't going to be a good selling point.
Ah, I did not realize the camera stuff might've been debunked.

If this is just a stronger Switch with improved Joycons with different branding or name I'd be so down lol.

Hold on New Ringfit Adventure is a thing ? I found this, this is very recent. We had two deliveries of 2800 pcs of New Ring Fit Adventure delivered in the US couple weeks ago. Let's say it's for NG, why shipping it early ? Something doesn't add up

Switch 2 is New Switch ?

So many questions
Why is “Ringfit” one word? The copyright for the franchise is “Ring Fit Adventure”.
Can’t this be a bootleg thing? Since we also have it being “N***C” and not “N***D”?

Oldpuck can help you with that. He's the one giving the most realistic and honest baselines for the T239, but what he basically said is that this is a mobile chip limited by memory bandwidth and you can't simply get real performance gains by improving clocks after a certain point because the teraflops become ineffective in the real world... Aka, diminishing returns. When handheld, Nintendo isn't going to ruin battery life with the excuse of fulfilling a certain threshold, and 2 TFLOPS happen to be the soft spot before diminishing returns start hitting the chip hard, as well as a linear reduction on battery life that might not be worth it.

4 raw tflops on docked mode is way more than enough and far more than any of us were every expecting, zero complaints there if that's how it ends up.

MSFT
ABK

NTND, NCL, NOA, NOE, etc
Interesting, I’d assume it’ll be obvious if this was just new shipments, though do we know if we have something like “New Breath of the Wild” or “New Xenobladr Chronicles” or something like that listed ever? Sorry if this is a lot of questions, I just want to make sure that could be an actual noteworthy thing.

@P4bl0 @Concernt @pelusilla6 @SiG

Not sure if this helps but when I get hit on keywords and see something like N***D, I then go to this url and try the keywords there. It reveals the companies for me, like this as an example. Would that help?

However on this website I'm not getting hits for "new ringfit adventure" for some reason (at least not the one that matches the ones y'all were discussing here anyway)

I cant easily find as much, but I can say with certainty that "New Ringfit Adventure" only appeared very recently, with shipments of the game "Ring Fit Adventure" spelled as such, no "new", even though Nintendo obviously always imported them factory sealed.

Company "N" could be Nvidia.

NVIDIA WAS IMPORTING NEW RING FIT?!

@P4bl0 ?!
No, no...

In my example screenshot I was using T239 Adaptor Pedestal to illustrate it showing company name in full. None of that "N***D" crap.

But the same website, I cannot get hits on for "New ringfit adventure" for some reason. I'm getting hits on the other site, but that other site doesn't reveal companies for me unfortunately.

You lost me. Why would T239 need an adapter pedestal? Could this be a completely unrelated product using the t239 moniker?

Adaptor pedestal isn't a new bit, I brought that up previously, both LiC and oldpuck tried to guess what it could be. Nobody knows. It sounds like hardware or accessory to assist with testing T239 maybe. It is shipped to Nvidia Graphics Private Limited, the office in India, so there's no reason to believe it's not related to T239 the SoC.

But that's not important right now, lol. Didn't meant to draw attention to that particular item. Let's not conflate on T239 adaptor pedestal right now.

I'm using the other keyword as an example because I'm unable to get hit on "New Ringfit Adventure" - which I needed to do in order to illustrate a methodology to get FULL company name. That's all.

I wouldn't call cameras debunked, just that we have evidence that suggests there will be no cameras.

I'm not great with the technical names of things, so someone might have to correct me. But there was code for cameras that existed in Switch 1, or at least in Switch 1's development code. And in the nvidia leak for Switch 2 stuff, that code had been removed.

I know I butchered that explanation, but that is basically the just of it.

I just read the whole "leaks" and its is so dumb, none of this thing could be remotely right
. Claims NG is the codename while it was only a shorthand for Next Gen Activision used
. Claims to know SKUs, price and date a year in advance, something only upper Nintendo management would know at this point
. Claims September 24th is the release date, a Tuesday, when every Switch model released on Friday
. The only info he leaked was Playstation-related, but now he apparently found a Nintendo source with highly classified information
. When called out goes into damage control and says NG is a "developer codename" and "backup release" is on November 3rd 2024, a Sunday. Dumbass probably wanted to backpedal to a Friday date, but in a rush forgot to switch the year (Novemver 3rd 2023 is on Friday)
This guy is nothing but clout chaser, at least a leaker who does alot of xbox leak would have been convincing since minecraft is one the best selling game on the switch and now they own company thats going to make game for the thing like abk and bethesda.

The reasoning I had seen to not expect cameras is that Orin (the chip that Drake is based off of) has dedicated camera/vision blocks that are not present on Drake. So why would they remove those if they plan to still use cameras?

But it's very possible that the camera blocks on Orin being for cars would be useless or overkill or overly complex for a new Switch, which is why they were removed. Meaning, we really don't know either way.

I don't think Switch 1 had any cameras or any code for cameras, someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

Based on my methodology I went over a couple of replies back,

"N***D" that we have seen in other search results usually refers to "Nvidia Graphics Private Limited", an office in India.

Trying to figure out which company "N***C" is right now. The only problem is the website I use for this methodology (getting full company name) doesn't give me hits for "New Ringfit"

Look into P4bl0´s response, its NORMAN KRIEGER INC. If you make the reverse search the "new ringfit" appears.

Ah, that's figured out now, we know which company it is now, lol.

Who's C***SA though? That's the other one showing up for New Ringfit Adventure entries.

What strong evidence? The only thing I've seen in that regard is that they cut the camera stuff from Orin, which misunderstands what Orin's camera tech is meant for. Orin is a chip meant to power autonomous vehicles, and thus needs a lot of image data from multiple huge cameras at once. That kind of thing in Drake would be an absurd level of overkill.

I agree that anything is possible, but I would still point to the removal of camera blocks as evidence of no cameras.

Moving away from actual evidence, I believe personally that there won't be cameras because cameras make no sense. Nintendo has tried cameras before multiple times, and they never amounted to anything more than a neat experience that people play once, and never again. And they would amount to even less now, because at least the 3DS cameras allowed for 3D pictures.

The second one is between CLICK ENTERTAINMENT USA (C***SA) and BS INTL NETWORKS PTE LTD (B***TD) as others have pointed.
If you don't mind, how did you come across "BS INTL NETWORKS PTE LTD"? You mentioned others pointed it out, but I can't find how that was reached.

I should update my methodology with finding company name behind those redacted characters (I'm only using one site for that) and it's a bit rudimentary. Unless it requires paid access, then nvm.

Joy-Con have IR cameras, could this part be for a improved IR camera on Switch sucessor?

I never used the the AR camera on the 3ds other than the first day I got it to try it out. Honestly it will be pretty useless to me if they do add it to switch 2

I’m team #NoCamera so I can still hope for the Nintendo Land return with handheld streaming a second screen to the dock 🤞🏻 (Wii U is back).

Anyway, what do you think about the possibility of Switch 2 having removable batteries? Here in Europe will be mandatory for every device in a couple of years, maybe Switch 2 will already be prepared for the new regulation.
(Sorry if already discussed)

The 3ds' best use for AR was undeniably Chibi Robo Photo Finder but the bar is in the ground there. I think Kid Icarus Uprising's AR cards were cool, but they were a side-thing.
Unless Nintendo has a really really cool way of using it for a potential Switch 2, I don't know what the point is.

Honestly I forgot that regulation is coming up. Big concern for several big companies (including the clowns over at Apple), but I do wonder how they're going to handle it. I think the simplest way is to make repairs very simple if you know what you're doing... but there's a possibility that a future device could have a battery upgrade in the future. That'd be amazing if it does happen, even if it costs extra to get more battery life.

Honestly I can see N taking advantage of the regulation and selling Switch 2 with a cheap battery while also selling separately a better battery (for big money 😂).

So is New Ring Fit Adventure an actual thing or is it just some companies importing Ring Fit Adventure under a weird name? (Software discussion I know... but there's a chance it's for Switch 2 and Ring Fit itself is technically a piece of hardware so I hope it's fine to discuss this)

Dolla dolla hours for scum-fuck companies.

Has the potential to be very pro-consumer if the company is willing to cooperate. I could see, say, Valve keeping their standard for batteries but selling alternative, stronger batteries for enthusiasts. Nintendo is a bit more in the air, but it's nice to hope.

I mean it has to? A rule is a rule. Either that, is r Nintendo has to release a redesign sooner than they want to.
