What Metroid Prime Games Are Showing Up At The Next Nintendo Direct?

There is a non zero chance the Direct opens with a reminder that the Scarlet/Violet DLC is out now. You know Pokémon DLC gets that special treatment. It opened last Direct. It closed the 2020 Direct Mini.

This scares me greatly.

No, but Peach, Mario vs DK, F ZERO 99 and Another Code remakes come from the source (Pyoro) that leaked Mario RPG, Wonder etc in June, so I'd say they have a high chance of being real. Smash something could happen.

Luigi's Mansion 2, Peach, and Metroid Prime 4 for the hypesters. Mansion sold over 6 million on 3DS and the third entry sold over 12 million on Switch, so the port of 2 is certainly a multi-million seller. Peach is obviously difficult to call, because we know so little, but I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo give it a big push. I wouldn't write it off from being a solid hit.

Prime 4 is one that, if it lives up to the series legacy, garner a lot of praise and be treated as a 'big game'. Add a Fire Emblem title and you've got another solid 2 to 4 million seller. Fairly easy for Nintendo to string together several medium scale hits, with the Super Mario franchise titles potentially being the bigger sellers.

How can you not like Xenoblade Chronicles X? I love the game. The only fully open world Xenoblade game and the sci fi setting! The game is so atmospheric. The flying mechs are amazing! It’s fun driving them around, but when you fly you discover whole new areas and it feels great. The music and mainline story are probably the weakest of the series for me. Music is still good and fits the setting. Mainline story being weaker isn’t a big deal to me because there are great side quests.

I usually call Xenoblade X a messy masterpiece myself so I totally get someone not vibing with it. I put it third in my own rankings, but it’s the one that captured my imagination the most. Love that game to pieces.

Nah it’ll already be out. They’re not starting or closing with Pokémon dlc.

The Direct opening on the DLC last time was one of the big reasons I didn’t think the Direct would occur until after it released which might end up panning out. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a quick reminder on it though as part of a Pokemon update alongside Detective Pikachu though.

1 is a great game, but my least favorite character, story and battle system wise. Also the side quests are bad.

2 is awesome but the bad design choices for many characters as well as some really dumb design decisions like the gacha blades and field skills hold it back. Story, characters and battle system were massively improved from 1.

3 is just overall the most poignant, atmospheric and thematically interesting game in the series imo. It’s story isn’t as neat and nicely wrapped up as the other two, but it just shoots so much higher conceptually that overall the game just resonates with me more. It continues to age astonishingly well (no doubt helped by the nice bow on top that is FR). Even some of the issues I agreed with back then - such as the lack of history and culture in the world - I’ve come to find less bothersome as I realize they contribute to the thematic core that the game so strongly centers around. Aionios may not have a bunch of instantly iconic locations that it’s predecessors did, but it continues to leave an impact in a different way on me. A beautiful, melancholy hellscape that’s exactly what it needs to be. QOL is much better than 2 and ditches some of those baffling design decisions. The class system introduces some issues, but nothing as egregious as 2’s. Character moments are the best in the series, cutscenes and writing also.

I missed out on that game unfortunately. Hope it'll be rereleased one day. Could be a great game for the new hardware.

There is an high chance of it, since i bought yesterday Blasphemous 2 for my metroidvania fix... you're welcome!

1. Wave Race 64
The definition of all killer, no filler. It's difficult to stay optimistic in such difficult and tumultuous times we live in but when you play Wave Race 64 your hope in your fellow humans is restored. Gliding over the water in this game is the closest we will ever be to our creator. Don't take it from me though, as Albert Einstein once said: "I don't know if there is such a thing as a perfect game but Wave Race 64 comes closest"

2. Wave Race (GB)
A fun novelty.

3. Wave Race Blue Storm
An insult to life itself and testament to the hubris of man. As the American visual artist Man Ray said, "to create is divine, to reproduce is human". What he didn't account for is that some men, in reproducing, cast off their humanity. This is what the developers of Wave Race: Blue Storm did. It is a perversion of the original, a game so devoid of beauty, it is enough to plunge you into existential despair. It makes a compelling argument to never let Americans develop video games.

Hope so, because that game looks incredible! Wouldn't surprise me if it becomes my new favorite. Kinda like how Phantasy Star Online is my favorite Phantasy Star game.

Everything you said is true (even the soundtrack ; I'm listening to it right now ^o^).

Still, you get the Dolls quite late, they cost a ton and to get the flight module, it takes ages and it is near the end of the game.
To get to this, you have to suffer through dialogue that would make Star Ocean 4 writing pass for Fallout : New Vegas.

I don't get how Tatsu was a good idea. Like, he makes two story mission fails and yet they keep getting him involved, probably thinking that failing upward is the key to success. Maybe this is The Key We've Lost. Put that stupid Nopon in Black Tar or I'm gonna be Uncontrollable In The Forest.

I'm sorry but in RPGs, the story & dialogue are very important to me. If the game lasts around 50 to 100 hours, it means I'll have to spend that time with these characters so it should, at the very least, make me want to care about them and making me want to thrust them into a wood chipper. Especially since the best part of the game comes right near the end (the flight module).

I really want XenoX to come back so people re-evaluate it. And suffer.

Spicy opinion: Alrest > Mira > Bionis > Aionios

My dream Xenoblde game would combine 3's hero system with a world as deep and lore rich as Alrest. 3 had interesting, fun, characters stuck in a shallow world that left them all with the same taste. The game did a great job tying everything into it's core themes, but that came at the cost of almost every town and group of characters having the same feel. 2 had locations with long sprawling histories, tons of implied geopolitical depth, but ruined it by having every rare blade be a born yesterday waifu with a generic anime girl personality and no connections to the world. I'd love to see Xenoblde 4 synthesise these elements into something better
