The word "Wonderbread" has been ruined for me. No I will not elaborate.
I know I just really wanted to make the pun, I was so proud of itWill not elaborate!!!
Seriously, that is a WHOLE rabbit whole.

whole wheat?
From my limited understanding, the Horizon OS had such barebones features due to Nintendo wanting it lightning quick, right? I think I even saw somewhere that someone found a menu theme that was written for the Switch but never used, because it'd take time to load and could slightly slow down the menu response or something? We are all expecting HOS to be the one in use for the switch NeXt, so it’ll be pretty lean and light. But as it’s a new GPU and has new features it won’t be the same occupancy I think. Current one does ~800MB right?
I think the next one would be a 1GB or 1.25GB. Maybe stretch to 1.5GB. But I think 1-1.25GB is a nice expectation unless something bloats or something changes that we don’t expect.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!So, gonna put this behind for a spoiler and topic restriction for variety of reasons:

My thoughts about themes is that it was definitely a feature pre-release and I definitely don't think literally changing solid colors and putting a JPG background is a performance heavy thing.
Have you gone through @Dakhil's OP? Some really impressive work has been done in this thread.Ayo, this thread is off its rocker. What a collection of characters. Good riddance to those posters the last few pages.
All of the speculation itself is incredibly intriguing, though. Definitely going to stop by more often!
Change the UI of the home menu is easy. So, like, Horizon on NX 2, huh? I hope it doesn’t render at freakin 720p. Shit hurts my eyes. We literally have the technology.
Which I hope they do along with a neumorphic redesign (I know the latter is outlandish but one can dream)Change the UI of the home menu is easy.
I just googled neomorphic design and I think I really like it dangWhich I hope they do along with a neumorphic redesign (I know the latter is outlandish but one can dream)
Ugh honestly I’m a sucker for neumorphism. It’s so fresh and just good. Think the Vision Pro UI I think that’s a good example.I just googled neomorphic design and I think I really like it dang
Tensor core AI mood ring themesMaybe if the NG Switch has 16GB of RAM they'll finally give us themes... MAYBE.
Big letdown for me.Maybe if the NG Switch has 16GB of RAM they'll finally give us themes... MAYBE.
With an entire A78C core dedicated to the OS + extra RAM for it, they could do a lot more things without sacrificing the performance of the OS, like having a functional eShop, for example. From my limited understanding, the Horizon OS had such barebones features due to Nintendo wanting it lightning quick, right? I think I even saw somewhere that someone found a menu theme that was written for the Switch but never used, because it'd take time to load and could slightly slow down the menu response or something?
Anyway, my actual question: if all that is true, could Drake, running basically the same OS, be so much faster that those concerns would be moot and things like menu music and themes would run fast enough to be to Nintendo's liking?
summary:Ok, no way in hell is I reading through 8 pages in one day. Can somebody summarize, please?
Also.. anyone post this yet here (like today)? I don't think this deconfirms the F-Zero GX port rumor.. unless there's been a deconfirmation that I'm unaware of. Nate, have you heard any updates about GX.

I suspect one of the major reasons why the eShop and NSO applet are so sluggish is because Nintendo doesn't want the web browser to use JIT recompilation. Can't even bother enabling it just for those two which would help immensely...With an entire A78C core dedicated to the OS + extra RAM for it, they could do a lot more things without sacrificing the performance of the OS, like having a functional eShop, for example.
I feel like I've heard that before. Still a strong accusation, though.
Racist? Curious about this.

Wii U UI on top of horizon would be a dream come true. HOS is already so lightweight the possibilities are endlessTried to catch up since yesterday, is Nikki a reliable user? Please anything but Horizon for NX2. Going from Wii (U) Era homemenu to Horizon was... Well Horizon just has zero FUN built in.
Switch UI is the definition of soulless.Tried to catch up since yesterday, is Nikki a reliable user? Please anything but Horizon for NX2. Going from Wii (U) Era homemenu to Horizon was... Well Horizon just has zero FUN built in.
YALL ARENT GONNA BELIEVE THIS
I used to be an investigative journalist but not for gaming
Trump got elected because half of americans voted for it.
I'd like it to have a soul too but I spend my 99% of my time playing the game. They just need to add functionality, that's all. I don't care about themes for clout.Switch UI is the definition of soulless.

I’d love a StarFox game to see out the Switches time, even if it was just a port of StarFox Zero. I’m surprised it’s considered a favourite of Miyamoto, considering the lack of attention it’s had the last generationOk, no way in hell is I reading through 8 pages in one day. I hope not because I can't have access to it, and apparently threads isn't very usable on PC so it's useless to me.So Threads is live, and it’s booming for the moment. Do we think Nintendo will actually move a muscle to support it in lieu of Twitter?
I suspect one of the major reasons why the eShop and NSO applet are so sluggish is because Nintendo doesn't want the web browser to use JIT recompilation. Can't even bother enabling it just for those two which would help immensely...
Judging by the Nintendo Systems job offers I doubt that will change anytime soon. The thing is, I don't think web is necessarily a bad idea, I just believe their web browser does not allow optimization like JIT recompilation, remember that the Wii U eShop and Miiverse used a web applet for it.I think it's about time they implement native apps for those.
It's not like they haven't implemented 50 different UI renderers for the rest of the system or for their games.
I don't know if I am alone or if I am just petty, but sometimes this UI makes me not want to start the console to play a game when I know I need to go to the second menu on the right.Switch UI is the definition of soulless.
Drake/T239 uses GA10F (Geforce/Graphics Ampere) it is custom and seems to have some upgraded components, which includes the optical engine that Orin uses, that is vital to DLSS 3.0's frame generation, however it's separate from Ada Lovelace, and we don't know which is superior or if Orin/Drake's Optical engine is fast enough to support frame generation. We will learn if it is at a later time.I'm a little confused tbh, is the T239 fully Ampere with some lovelace features or is it some sort of bogged down lovelace *SoC? Does this completely dismiss DLSS 3 for REDACTED? 'pologies if I missed a post explaining it reading through the trainwreck ,:v
