RAM is expensive, holy moly. Dell is giving me an option to do 128GB of RAM instead of 32GB and it's like an extra $1000.
128 GB of RAM?!?!? That seems like massive overkill, I can't think of much of any reason you'd need over 32. Granted I haven't looked into building a PC in 5+ years so maybe standards have changed. But back then, at least, RAM was actually quite cheap unless you went to the very upper end of it.

I have never played Banjo Kazooie. A remake would be nice.
Tho I guess I can play it on my Switch now, huh
I really should play it sometime

Yeah, RAM jumps up in price a ton when you go up to the highest capacity sticks. More than doubling in price for double the capacity, etc.

I think the people who need 128GB of RAM know that they need 128GB of RAM, and are probably making enough money on their computer that it’s worth it for the benefit to their workflow even though they’re paying a significant premium for it. It’s like photographers and their fancy ultra-fast CFexpress memory cards that cost way more than SD cards. At a certain point, it’s worth it.

I just finished Edgerunners and it was fantastic. When people were praising the animation, I thought Trigger was gonna do something different but, while amazing with some insane shots, it felt inline with their recent work.

One thing this anime taught me is that I really am indifferent to the cyberpunk motif. Maybe its because I grew up with it (I love Ghost in the Shell) and alot of its media kinda deals similar storylines. Regardless, its an easy recommend for anyone interested in the game, the setting or anime in general. Ost was great, OP had potential.

Now where is my clockpunk anime, cause Clockwork planet was not it lol.

I certainly don't NEED 128GB of RAM but when using UE4 or 5 the more the better I think. I'm planning to at some point get a PC with either 32 or 64, probably prefer 64 if I can for future proofing, but beggars can't be choosers.

You wind up streaming a ton of textures when you're designing a level and figuring out what asset works here and what doesn't, things like that. I'm not super happy that my 8GB RAM laptop consistently crashed UE4 every few hours when it runs out of available RAM.

Guitar and drums arrived and work great. Need to get another Guitar to get the full band back together as they say.

Moving back to the UK 3 weeks today and reading about the new Tory chancellor's "mini-budget", which is either an act of malice, incompetence, or disaster capitalism so brutal that even the financial markets are baffled and alarmed by it.

Gonna be a long road to 2024 if we can't get an election before then; unless the Tory plan is to hope for an autumn sugar rush and call a snap election. But the immediate reaction makes this gamble look like a massive failure, and it's ordinary folk who'll pay the price.
So my favourite NRL team are in their first grand final since 2009... I'm scared lol. They are notorious for being one of the most inconsistent teams, so I have no idea what their chances are.

Fun fact: they're the only Australian NRL team with an Indigenous homage, as they are the Parramatta team and in Indigenous language, it means "a place where the Eels dwell" so they chose the Eel as their mascot.
I didn't know this about Paramatta, so congrats! Nice to see a fellow rugby league fan on the forum. Will root for them in the final.

Dang. Does Axiom Verge 2 never get a discount beyond 10%?
Looks like last month it was -25%, but every other sale has been -10%.
We need a big mascot platformer renaissance, if only to get a break from all these open-world games.
But I want an open world Mario platformer.

I used a site to put together my PC about a year ago, but I found it cheaper to get my RAM elsewhere, so I put in the minimum it allowed and found the best deal for decent 64GB elsewhere for about $300. Which is to say if you want to join the crazy 128GB club, you can do better than $1000.
Not like I can get 128GB anywhere else though. Not that I really need 128GB of RAM, I'm not planning to have 50 chrome tabs open at all times.
(Replying to this from a 624-tabbed Waterfox on a 128GB RAM machine.)

Hm. While the Ryza 2 sale is good, I don’t want to get it till I finish the first game, i have enough jrpgs in the backlog as is and it should go on sale again. I do think I’ll bite on P5S tho.

Oh no, the Kotobuya XBC2 Siren kit got a reprint and preorders are still available…. Ack I’m going to cancel a different low priority preorder and give in

Boxarts that are very minimalistic, such as characters on white backgrounds, or a key object in the game in white background are the most charming and stylish of boxarts.

Less is more.

The next 3D Mario is interesting because while Bowser's Fury was built with 3D World assets, the design philosophy was much closer to Odyssey, in that the game tried to keep you in the experience as seamlessly as possible while you completed your objectives. Not even any transition from level to level; just one expanding and changing level.

Personally, I was never convinced Nintendo would package a game concept as a freebie if the same philosophy and idea was going to be used in a full price game. They're not a generous company like that; and certainly I wouldn't expect Bowser's Fury to appear in 2021 at the same time that EPD 8 were working on another iteration of the same idea. Why outsource it from EPD 8 to NST, or package it as a freebie, if it had enough mileage to be the next new Mario?

Maybe they find an interesting way around that, I don't know. I just genuinely don't know what to expect next for 3D Mario.

God, the ending of Chapter 5 in Xenoblade Chronicles 3…

Last time a game broke me this much emotionally was Tales of Arise.

I am only certain that is no way it's sequel to Odyssey, but Cappy was very great mechanic. Tokyo will finally have time to shine, and it will be a big one.

Bowser’s Fury was definitely made to get more people to buy the port. I remember back in 2021 loads of people were talking about it; there was buzz that just wouldn’t exist if it were a straight port job. As for why it was outsourced, EPD8 was probably strained for resources if they actually are making 3D Mario and DK at the same time.

IMO next 3D Mario will probably be another sandbox game like Odyssey but with a different gimmick. Like what Sunshine was to 64.

Hey y'all I watched the new Pabllo Vittar videoclip and I just can't stop thinking she looks like Toothpaste-chan from Fire Emblem Engage.

Had a bit of an accident. Was in a lawnmower cart when the cart suddenly flipped over and I fell out and I hit the back of my head. I’m okay for the most part, head freaking hurts though
Have you seen a doctor or medical professional? Even if it ends up being nothing, always best to get checked after something like that.

Sorry, even though I was there when it released, only now I'm getting completely obsessed with the Akira OST!

Yoooo, get it checked just to make sure you one 100% ok!

wow, great news, the full trailer for Trombone Champ is full of horses

I’ll try to get checked out as soon as I can. One of my parents who was riding the lawnmower don’t believe I hit hard enough to have gotten a concussion or have been showing signs of it but I will try ti get checked out when I can

I always have hot takes and here’s another:

Another Way to Die is a good fucking Bond song

also I do not give a fuck about Jim Bonk
