Experiment status report update. Pokemon project "Dreadtective Pikachu" is nearing the final stages of completion."

And I can't play the entire Xenosaga Trilogy on Switch.

I can't play Xenosaga Trilogy anywhere else except PS2, which I also can't do that on, as my PS2 no longer read every disc.
Does Monolith own Xenosaga or that is still with Namco? They should release them in some form on Switch.

The rights of the games shared between them. Games are owned by Namco but some characters, including Monolith's mascot KOSMOS, are owned by Nintendo/Monolith. If the games to be re-released Nintendo needs to fund the remasters to be Switch exclusives and I don't think they'll do that.

Another Way to Die is, by far, my least favorite Bond theme song of the Craig Era. I wasn't a huge fan of the Sam Smith one in Spectre (it's a real shame they didn't go with the Radiohead song as planned), but the White/Keys one sounds to me like it was written and performed by people who had never watched a Bond movie lol

The Chris Cornell, Adele, and Billie Eilish songs were all pretty good

But I can't like prove this because it's peskily subjective :-(
god winning feels good 😎

sorry to announce that as a result I will not be eating between 0 and 7 DVDs

You know what I'm glad, I would honestly be pretty upset if I was the cause of you eating between 0 and 7 DVDs

Unless it was 0, in which case I guess I would be okay with it

look pal, it’s me, it’s suswave. the game was rigged with a pun. it’s what I do.

those dice were weighted from the get on the zero and the zero — not at all the seven, and none of their nasty little friends

You know my name is the most thematically accurate song to represent the Craig saga, and it's also a banger as well.

can I get uhhhhh casino royale with cheese

look I truly like the dumb little Jack Alicia White Keyes song more than every other Bond song

the rest are so wrought and like… mmmmnot serious but like all taken more seriously? in a way that feels antithetical to exactly how fuckin’ goofy the entire concept and institution of James Bond is

and then these dweebs come in and hammer one note at a time through a wall of crunchy tubes while a horn section scrambles to cram some prestige back into it

and they just start yowling “everything + everyone wants to kill u lol :)”

and it slaps

it does the thing while also kind of making fun of the thing and also being truer to what I think the thing actually is, all while going hard and also being funny, intentionally or not

idk about y’all but that’s a major victory in the Suswave books

I actually really wanted to try Trails in the Sky back when it was relatively new but I didn't have a system it ran on. I've been assuming the trilogy might come to Switch (since everything else is) but now that Trails has split off into its own subseries and is all big and stuff it's kind of intimidating to get into while I'm still over here waiting for the original trilogy. 😅😅😅

So I'm sure I'll dig in someday, just not this month.
Only had time to Yeah! back earlier, but yeah if you are already interested in Sky it’s definitely the best place to start. Sky and Sky SC are my two favorite games in the series and mean so much to me! After Zero and Azure come out, you can finally play the first nine games in the series in order which is super nice. I had to do the US release order of 1, 2, 6, 7, 3, 8, 4, 9, and 5. Definitely possible, but less than ideal lol.

But anyway yeah I hope the Sky trilogy gets ported to Switch one day and make their way over. Doesn’t seem too likely sadly, but I hope so! I’m not a big PC person, but they are all on there and can easily run on any computer from the last ten years at least. Plug in a controller and they feel just right!

I am surprisingly excited for Zero. Its the only series I've always looked at from the side (since its been on Sony/PC) that I've wanted to get into. I am binging Sky cause I don't have time and I did not want to miss out on references lol
Just going to recommend to take your time with all of the games so you don’t burn out! The series is definitely a marathon and not a sprint! Fans love talking about all the games once you get to them!

Not-Nintendo game ramble incoming about Immortality:

I bit the bullet and played Immortality today since I ended up having the day off, and it is WILD. Like, bizarre, weird, creepy, unsettling, layers-upon-layers of subtext and commentary on movies/acting/hollywood/women being exploited/tons of other stuff. I reached the credits and only had half an idea of what the plot was, as well as the plot-behind-the-plot, and even less of an idea about the more hidden stuff behind that. I kept noodling around with it for a bit and got a bit more info, but ultimately ended up going to watch some info videos on youtube to get the whole picture.

It's one of the strangest game experiences I've ever had, and honestly it's like 90% more movie than game, but also that 10% or less that IS a game and something that can really only be done in a game is very important. It's a bit unusual to actually play, though, and I found myself burning out a bit before getting all the answers (hence the youtube crawl). But I definitely recommend it for a 5-10 hour experience unlike anything I've ever seen before.

WARNING: There is a pretty massive content warning on the game, though, both from me and also literally posted in-game when you start it up. Violence, nudity, sexual assault, abusive relationships, blood, and (kind of hilariously) 'Blasphemy regarding the Catholic faith'

Oh definitely. Since I know this games have a lot of text and world building I plan to treat them like I treat VNs, switch to other games while slowly chipping away at it. And since Azure is next year I can take it easy :)

If anyone is bored tonight and likes anime, Aniplex is doing its Aniplex online festival stream on Youtube. Best part is usually the music. Still haven’t seen the show, but it just started with a Demon Slayer orchestra.

1. It’s already my favorite Bond song
2. If it’s not your favorite Bond song, you are wrong
we’ve already proven I’m right today so that can’t be it

also the beatles (packed and each) are dweebs

to literally quote sir paul mccartney about the making of the song, “it was a job of work for me in a way”

and I mean fuck, the queen fucking died, he’s not even a sir anymore he’s just a bug again

it’s like if the cockroaches in my apartment made me a birthday cake that said “you can’t stop all of us and our dynasty will feast on your skin flakes long after you’ve stopped making them”

You ever find yourself randomly thinking about how amazing Return of the Obra Dinn is? And wondering why there aren't more games like that?

oof had a second there where I legit thought “aww it would be kinda sweet if the roaches made me a birthday cake in appreciation of… idk, me being bad at murdering all of them”

I’ll uh let y’all know if that somehow happens, almanac says I was born next week

Since Nintendo refuses to release Metroid Prime on Switch I am now playing through Dread again. Thanks, Nintendo.

I should probably start Splatoon 3. Been super duper into Mass Effect 3 this week, about 20 hours since this time last week, I think.

Detective Pikachu 2 has been in the oven so long it's going to get burnt.

I’ve been watching the Aniplex livestream tonight. They just had the Nier Automata anime segment. It’s called Nier Automata 1.1a and it will be a different story from the game with Yoko Taro behind it. He seemed excited for it. Comes out in January. They only showed a few snippets, looked good.

Apparently the Japanese voice actor for 9S was a fan of Yoko Taro since Drakengard. He is also really looking forward to screaming again in the anime lol.

Edit: Full segment.

With the Mario movie coming out, will Mario finally go mainstream
It could, but I doubt Mario will ever reach the same level of mainstream as other Nintendo characters like Samus or Captain Falcon

(post written from Earth-2, where everything is better at the moment)

I just typed out a very very long post asking a question about how to improve my conversation system in a particular way and in typing it all out and explaining the problem I realized how to solve it.

So thanks fami!
This feels soooo freaking good when it happens haha! It's one of the reasons I love notebooks so much. Just by writing out your problems, concerns, questions etc., your brain kicks in and can give clarity it seems.

Seeing Roger Federer retire was an emotionally roller coaster for me.
- what an athlete and more importantly, he's genuinely the greatest rolemodels of not only people in sports, but of all public people.

I have never met him, but he's been a constant in my sports interest for so long..I will miss him dearly.

Need to play a lot of videogames to cope today I feel, Return to Monkey Island is where it's at this weekend.
