I think some IPs are in better places than they were back in the GameCube days, I mean look at the reversal in fortune Fire Emblem has experienced since Path of Radiance was first released. A re-release of that on the Switch would sell significantly more due to how the IP is now much more recognisable, and being on a console with, what, 6 times the install base of the GC?
Then you consider something like F-Zero. Back in the GC days the idea it would be the last home console F-Zero for almost two decades was laughable. If Nintendo want a relatively risk free opportunity to revive the IP, it seems a no brainer.
The Switch is a software monster and I'm confident a lot of these remasters would break a million. It's only really the suuuuuper niche stuff that doesn't hit those numbers from a first party perspective these days.
