Something isn't adding up for me.

Grubb said Metroid Prime Remake is coming this year. And now Grubb and Mike are saying TP/WW are for sure apart of this upcoming Direct.

So are we to assume that Nintendo is going to announce and drop both a Metroid Prime Remake and WW/TP pack this year? That just seems like a weird thing to drop two highly requested remakes/remasters within a four month period in an already packed holiday schedule.

I'm not questioning anyone or their sources. I have full faith these products exist. But I do think that logically it would make sense for Nintendo to push one of those to next year. And if they push the TP/WW pack, wouldn't you start to get awfully close to the BoTW2 release?

To me, just strictly from an advertising setup, it would make more sense to push Metroid Prime Remake, since MP4 is in all likelyhood further out than BoTW2 is. So I'm very interested to see how the release dates for these products play out.

WW/TP HD isn’t confirmed to be a 2-pack, nor is it confirmed to be this year.

If BOTW2 is holiday 2023, WW/TP HD could be a nice little Jan/Feb release.

Personally I do wonder if Nintendo will give us a peak at a late 2023 game, which could well end up being the next 3D Mario. 2D Mario has had fairly short reveal to release windows with the last few outings, but that's another big title which has a shot at 2023, and there's bound to be stuff we don't know about.

Hopefully we get a look at the new Fire Emblem game that got leaked. I'm ready for more Fire Emblem!

I think they're going to market those releases as Gamecube Classics line. Don't forget the also rumored F-Zero GX remaster.

(And Chibi-Robo! HD, believe it !)

BOTW2 better not be holiday 2023 or I swear to god I'll buy another Xenoblade game

After reading VGC article, I can see next direct being a little low key.

Opening with metroid prime 1 remaster
Middle announcement would be gb/c coming to nso
Final announcement are zelda wiiu ports + botw 2 trailer

Other first party announcements would be eshop titles or updates from 2022 games. Most third party announcements would be low ley ports/remasters/remakes and reminder of previously announced titles

They are saving big reveals (new fe, prime 4, next mario 3d, imposible third party ports, etc) to a dedicated event at january/febraury for next switch HW.

This makes me ever more curious how the hell they are going to announce this. Metroid Prime, WindWaker, and Twilight Princess all getting separate SKU remakes/remasters announcements in one Direct is really interesting.

I would think just one of the Zeldas would be announced, and the other saved for a later Direct.

I'm 100% behind this. F-Zero GX is one of my favorite games of all-time and Chibi Robo is stupid expensive on the retro market. That would be one of the hypest announcements in recent memory.

Depends on what you think is overpriced
A HD remaster of a 20 year old GameCube game, with beautiful visuals and considered to be one of the best games of all time for 60 dollars

A double pack featuring the two HD remasters of classic Zelda games with various upgrades and QOL features for 60 dollars

Doesn't seem overpriced to me personally
And what if it’s not a double pack and they’re released separately?

Are we even expecting those games to release this year? The rest of the year seems pretty stacked for Nintendo:

September 9th: Splatoon 3
September 30th: Bayonetta
October 20th: Mario x Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
October 28th: Bayonetta 3
November 18th: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

One or both of them I suppose come in December, but doubt it’s landing any time before that. They’d have no room to breathe.

Unless Nintendo does a rapid fire release :>

The Zelda ports create quite the puzzle. The rest of the year is fairly packed why wouldn't they hold them for a quieter time? If they are early next year that implies BotW 2 is very late spring at best or most likely pushed to 2nd half of year.

Prime HD makes a lot of sense. It's the 20th anniversary, and by all accounts it's been substantially reworked. WW/TP feels like something they could drop literally any time, I'm confused why they've decided now is good

Prime remaster i can see being 60...if its a substantial remaster. if its just a retexture wit new lighting and qol, then im not shure if i would pay 60€, well see.

Zelda... if they are in a pack, then thats more then fine. if they are 40€ each, that would be okay. if they are 60€ each, that would definitely be overpriced. (for me)
Donkey Kong 64 is underrated and it's a major violation Nintendo hasn't given 3D DK another shot/remade DK64
Jep. It has many flaws, but it is still am ambitious fun game. The gameplay/formula was fine, but needed a tweek ad refinement. (to me it always felt like a banjo spinoff, that takes banjo as a base, in how the movement and all feels and the world is designed...and those games are beloved by all)

Yeah... if its just a port / remaster direct, i will be rather dissapointed after no E3, and it does seem unrealistic that they will release those games in such a short period. i think many of them will be winter, 2023. January-march.
And...please, dont scare me that BotW2 is late 2023...

I was thinking of this too but honestly

- The draw of WWHD and TPHD would be the double pack, getting two great Zeldas for $60 hasn’t really happened before

- the draw of MPHD is the changes. Rumors say they’re pretty significant and border on remake

I can see it working, even if it does seem like a lot of GC remastering at once

Fun fact: he's pointing at Steve Jobs

(If anyone gets this joke I will give you a cookie)
I get it.

I mean, I'm sorry that I get it. But I do.

I think the average user of the forum is a little older than you think…
Depending on how you figure the average, I know I'm skewing the curve quite a bit

Filler to carry us until the Switch 2 blow out early next year.

Hmm, I’m confused too. Could it be maybe that they want to maintain an annual Zelda release, and WWHD/TPHD would fill the slot for 2022?

Well I'm sorry that you took it that way. Merging the threads was a somewhat controversial opinion for a variety of reasons. I opposed it because it worsened readability and mixed discussion of the game with reactions to the Direct itself. My remark was meant as a throwaway remark about the merger, not in any way a personal attack against you for being one of many people to complain about the game and its Direct.
It's more the fact that the thread itself was a much more direct and unironic attack than any of the Rhythm Heaven 'hate' posts, but you seemed perfectly fine with it. However,. as I implied by deleting the post, I want to leave this here if that's OK with you.
