That would put it too close to Zelda imo, assuming Zelda is March-June.

There might be a slim possibility we get a 2D Mario in March if Zelda is June, but assuming new Switch hardware launches next year I think 3D Mario will be the Holiday title like in 2017, and I can't imagine a 2D and 3D Mario in the same year.
I agree with all of this which in a way gives me renewed hope for 2D Mario this holiday.

The windows for where new titles can fit are getting a bit limited. We basically are down to late September, early November, and December (which does have Dragon Quest Treasures in it). Metroid Prime is supposed to be one of them and it’s probably that early November slot. Advance Wars might squeak in December very quietly, but Dragon Quest Treasures makes it feel unlikely. Everybody 1-2 Switch is floating out there too if it isn’t getting retooled or canceled. I really do hope and believe we’ll get a Mario platformer soon though! No way they don’t have anything to point to when the movie releases.

So, now that we already have a Pokémon Presents and the Splatoon 3 direct, the next step will be a Nintendo Direct or Indie World? Any guess?
Next week

Last week of august gamescon

First week of september general direct as its 1 week before tgs. Also, there can be a final push to splatoon 3, or reveal the first update.

Imo we'll get an Indie next week and maybe a General Direct on August 31/September 1st

Now we can see that Nintendo just chopped up their June Direct and scattered it over the summer.
In hindsight, the June Direct would probably just have been the last monthly rewind + the content of the Partner Direct Mini.

I guess they thought it wasn't big enough to warrant an actual Direct since there weren't any groundbreaking announcements. But I'm definitely still pleased with their showings.

Remember when we thought it’s a shadow drop for September Direct

There's a pretty big chance of an Indie World Direct this month, and hopefully a General Direct in September.

I mean, the only game we know of set for 2023 is Zelda, we need to start hearing about what Nintendo has planned for next year.

I can’t even hold my breath saying this but with the Mario Movie coming in the same timeframe as Zelda, there could be the ever so slight chance that the next Direct will have Zelda AND Mario mainline games. A very very slight chance.

If by mario mainline you mean a trailer for the mario movie and if by mainline zelda you mean windwaker had port with botw2 delay then yes there's a chance.

Reading this thread while listening to the Wave Race 64 soundtrack in order to summon the water spirits for a new one that's either almost exactly like Wave Race 64 or a revolutionary sequel idk what's in now.

I feel like August is the best time for Wave Race 64 if we're not getting GoldenEye in any capacity.

Still summer for a little bit longer for the Northern hemisphere, and the Southern hemisphere gamers are approaching the end of winter and already longing for summer.

Since we got the Kirby Dream Café date today, now we wait for Metroid Prime Remastered announcement on Twitter next week!!!

Seriously tho please pull an Age of Calamity and announce an announcement and end my suffering.
Ditto, I don't even care that it would be a lame way to announce it any more

Me neither!! Of course a Direct would be a better way to announce it, but I sure as hell don't wanna wait until September (even tho I probably will) and September to November is really tight announcement to release for a project of this scope.

General Direct next week with Indie World being late August or September would be the best turn around tho.

That way they can have Metroid Prime Remastered announced already so they can show it on the Switch Drake trailer and release it this holiday like OLED with Dread.

I mean, it's just a remaster of the first game. While hardcore audiences (including me) will inevitably love the announcement, it's not actually that big in the grand scheme of things.
Dread was WAY bigger of a reveal, and it only had a 4 months announcement/release window.

I mean, it's a remaster that is actually a remake, of one of the most prestigious and critically acclaimed games ever and the most well known Metroid game before Dread. Also it had a very long development cycle. I think it's a big deal and should've gotten at least the same time as Dread. But I hope it still manages to sell greatly.

I hope the next indie world has some big drops like Switch versions of Tunic, Weird West and Inscryption. We also need to see an update on Outer Worlds and Sports Story.

I mean if we go next week without a Twitter announcement for Metroid Prime Remaster.. Might as well wait for the September Direct!

Also give me Donkey Kong 64 please? (didn't the previous few months' games get announced on a Thursday night as well?)

Yeah September reveal for a November release is just fine, especially for a remaster, they'll wait for the direct imo. Probably the week after Splatoon 3's release.

I think people get bothered by the...usual... anime aesthetic. Splatoon's artstyle doesnt reminds me of FE for example thats for sure lol
Yep, I'm one of those a bit bothered by those artstyles but Splatoon really works for me . I like the anime character design but those games don't look like anime imo. Usually you end up with this strange mix of cel shaded characters with more realistic environments, which is definitely not my thing.

Thus Musk became @Raccoon 's mortal enemy

Elon Musk Is Convinced He's the Future. We Need to Look Beyond Him

He has a history of floating false solutions to the drawbacks of our over-reliance on cars that stifle efforts to give people other options. The Boring Company was supposed to solve traffic, not be the Las Vegas amusement ride it is now. As I've written in my book, Musk admitted to his biographer Ashlee Vance that Hyperloop was all about trying to get legislators to cancel plans for high-speed rail in California—even though he had no plans to build it.

Several years ago, Musk said that public transit was "a pain in the ass" where you were surrounded by strangers, including possible serial killers, to justify his opposition. But the futures sold to us by Musk and many others in Silicon Valley didn't just suit their personal preferences. They were designed to meet business needs, and were the cause of just as many problems as they claimed to solve—if not more.

I fucking wish. Does he even do anything other than AC these days?
He was added to the credits in MK8 Deluxe with like 4 other composers, though there weren't that many new tracks before the DLC.

Besides that, he did the main theme for Woolly World and some Smash arrangements...and yeah that's it for non-Animal Crossing stuff in the last decade.

He still actually composes for AC despite being only credited as sound director (Nintendo sound credits are pretty bad).

This actually made me wonder how they credit their musicians on official soundtrack releases. At least for New Horizons it just seems to be a "Music by" credit. whereas may other releases have split composition and arrangement credits.

Solid month of news so far, were getting stuff every week I think. Kirby is single player too right? May be a nice casual game to play sometimes when bored.

I've hated Musk for like fifteen years, since the first Tesla came out and he tried suing any publication that gave it a bad review. And then the Model S came out and he continued suing any magazine or journalist who talked about the poor build quality and inconsistent panel gaps. And even back then he was already talking about how he believed only people of a certain degree of intelligence should be allowed to vote or make decisions in society (which sounds tempting nowadays but it was basically the beginning of his "anyone I disagree with is stupid because I'm so smart and they should be removed" bullshit). And then because of the automotive media criticism of the Tesla line he started talking about how the media was out to get him and we needed to start a system where only "proper" journalists could be published (a continuation of "I'm so smart that everyone who criticizes me is automatically wrong and should be removed" bullshit, and the beginning of his "basically just Trump but trendier" phase), and by that time I was already saying "holy shit this guy is basically a Bond villain" while people around me kept talking about how amazing and innovative and intelligent he is and that he and he alone would save the world and that I only dislike him because I'm an anti-environmentalist and an anti-intellectual and now that others are finally catching up to the hate I've felt for over a decade I feel like a fuckin hipster.

Now where are my skinny jeans?
