I can’t seem to get excited for this week. Normally we get excited for fire/direct because we see smoke, but this time it’s like we came across a clearing in the forest and we can see no reason why there’d be a clearing if they weren’t going to set a fire/release a direct.
 
Idk I just can't get excited for pokemon anymore. Mario Kart would be cool tho, but I would like to see a little more this week.

Kelios is the reason we're all expecting a Pokemon trailer now. I think they were referring to the recent gym leader and Pokemon leaks instead. Maybe those are in a trailer, I don't know, but Kelios is supposed to be retired from the leaking game. I don't see any reason for them to go back on it.

But When Iwata’s death was announced. I was eating actually at subway’s with my little cousin. Pretty shocking news cause he was talking and talking and I kept reading my phone in gaf that day.

But the worst part was that I was expecting it to happen eventually. When he came back that one direct looking far skinnier. I didn’t think he’ll stay much longer at Nintendo, he’ll retire in a year or 2. I just didn’t expect his death to be so soon. Don’t think you’ll ever see another Iwata. Literally came from the ground to president but not from a business area. From a game developer area. Expert in programming jumping to president of a game company that huge? No way. Even made fun of himself often and was a smash reveal trailer lol. He Hosted almost every direct and spoke in English too, really wanted to emphasize the “Direct” aspect. Nowadays, I don’t blame for the direction. Directs were Iwata’s idea and he obviously loved hosting them. Picking one person to do it today would be harder. Especially since perhaps no one really wants to or feel they can replace Iwata.

Wasn’t perfect tho, had some pretty terrible business practices. But always felt those were ones he could fix in the future if he had the chance. Sudden end to a legacy and that’s a shame.

Rest In Peace, Iwata.
 
Not sure if it was mentioned, but someone on resetera said they know “for a fact” that the leaked Pokémon images are from a new trailer dropping on Weds

I think I've seen it said that Nintendo doesn't tend to clear out for Pokemon the way they will for their own games, but I think it was more about release dates. Like if there's a Pokemon game scheduled for holiday that won't preclude Nintendo from having their own big holiday game. Not sure if they'd clear their schedule for a Pokemon announcement, but.. 🤷‍♂️

Kelios is a person on Twitter who has reliably leaked Nintendo stuff in the past, but got out of the game years ago due to.. well, the sort of garbage we see Nate out up with.

Considering reviews are amazing and Nintendo probably has a lot of trust in the product I’d imagine Nintendo moving them up to not get overshadowed by Pokemon news makes sense. They want XC3 to ‘shine’ alone

Oh, this reminds me of something. It was the start of glorious year of 2020. We we all expecting some kind of Direct. Then it happened on January 9th, it was Pokemon Direct. Oh, cool we will wait for another week. Bam. Sakurai Presents Byleth.

Kelios doesn't leak anymore. Maybe the others know something, but Kelios wouldn't say anything if they did. They're 100% referring to the leaks.

BOTW2 would be a huge launch title, did you forget BOTW is almost at 30 million sold? (More then Pokémon Sword and Shield).

And the fact that we already got a open world Pokémon this year brings down the hype a bit (at least for me).

Considering Pokemon announcements are usually spaced from other Nintendo stuff I would imagine it is the case.

I love how someone here posted last week that on Nintendo HK channel there was update to Bayonetta 3 playlist and suddenly all of the twitter insiders are spelling Bayonetta. LOL

He said day before the Direct that Splatoon 3 is scheduled for June. It could be, but then day after that, Direct happened and Strikers was dated as June release. So Splatoon would never ever be released in June. And as we know it was 98% planned as a July release with Xeno3 as a September, they just switched spots, this is obvious and no one could say otherwise.

 
Hopefully we get a Pokémon Direct with a new Spin-Off game (sequel or something brand new) and not just a Scarlet/Violet trailer.

I mean, would anyone be surprised if they announced on Twitter the release date for Bayonetta 3 soon or that it was delayed into 2023? That's like the easiest "prediction" one could make. How about they "leak" something that isn't easily predictable instead. I feel like I should make a fake Twitter account to prove how easy this shit is. We should be getting the MK8D DLC soon! New NSO games soon and one of them will be a game many are looking forward to!

I want the Switch Pro and a first party Direct, not a Pokemon trailer (I've seen the leaks).

About the previous Zelda comments. BOTW2 is a massive seller and Drake would be a great showcase for it. Don't get me wrong am not hater of Pokemon but the base Switch is not an issue here, it's the Game Freak or rather TPC, they don't care and never will so I don't know how much would Drake take advantage of it. The Pokemon games could have been looking miles better already but they will never willl, it's that simple.

Metroid Prime is claimed by Jeff Grubb as coming this holiday. The Zelda HD collection never existed and was basically pushed heavily by fans in the rumor mill in an attempt to get Nintendo to, "Make it happen".
 
What are we expecting tomorrow? The DLC? a Pokémon Presents? or a general Direct, even if we’re in July
