I have a perfect Direct announcemment for you.

Takahashi says that's all for todays Nintendo Direct but then suddenly his phone starts ringing. He is confused and says: Oh, pardon me and picks up the call. It appears that Koizumi is on the phone since he says: Oh, Mr. Koizumi we are filming the next Nintendo Direct. Could you please call me later? But it looks like Koizumi is asking Takahashi about something very important. Koizumi clearly wants the call to be on the loud speaker. Koizumi speaks: Hello everyone, I am Yoshiaki Koizumi from Nintendo. I know it's been a long wait but I think Mr. Takahashi will show you one more thing today. Both of them give a send-off. Takahashi: Oh well that was unexcepted, anyways this is the last trailer. New 3D Mario appears on screen. 2023 release date. Direct ends.

Super Mario Odyss-3 is revealed (ignore the fact that there wasn't an Odyssey 2, they liked this name so much they just skipped it)
 
Truly comical how much Nintendo has announced this week, absolutely no reason to inundate us with this much content all at once unless they wanted public awareness focused on something else coming soon.

I think they will announce the horse game (future GOTY) it is such a big announcement they have to give it a whole week to cover everything they want

I do think that at minimum we're getting a testfire announcement, it's the most likely explanation for Splatoon tournaments skipping a week

But I also think a Pokémon trailer would be pretty likely, and at that point you're halfway towards a presentation anyways
 
I mean, people can say all they like that Mario Kart DLC would be the worst outcome for next week but it's literally the thing I'm looking forward to the most.

It's craycray for sure. Not sure if they'd do something though with the mood in Japan - maybe a week of silence would be fitting. Dunno.

Anyways, they could be planning a Splatoon 3 Test Fire for sure, but I'm not sure why they wouldn't have done that around the OLED announcement...?
 
I am enjoying Sunbreak a lot! Finishing some build slowly which is fun. Especially with the Element meta atm. Hope it stays this diverse after the updates.

In 2021 there was similiar event and it started on July 10th continued on 17, 24, 31. This event in 2022 started on July 1st. The point is that Nintendo is doing it once again on 4 weekends, so maybe that's the reason why there is a pause in one weekend. To make it just 4 and not 5.

Whenever the Switch 4K gets announced I have no doubt it'll feel completely unreal to me. BotW2 even more so. They've been so extremely coy about it, and it's been so long... :p

For some reason Fami isn't letting me quote your post @LukasManak22 so I'll say that's a very good theory as to why the tournament could skip a week, but then why drop alllllll of this news in a single week instead of spreading it out over July?
 
So did everyone just gave up on the idea that there's a presentation of a sort? Because the vibes I'm getting from this thread now is that people are just expecting Twitter drops of a couple of things.

I thought a bit more about my Treehouse Live day idea, and realized that it’d kinda be odd for NCL to just tell their viewers to go watch an NoA event for most of their major announcements for the rest of the year. Treehouse very rarely has major announcements, with a very small presence outside of E3, an event held closest to NoA.

I’m starting to get the feeling that at the most, we’ll get Mario Kart DLC and a Splatoon testfire in the coming week, with other game updates an Bayo 3 info in the following weeks, a Splatoon Direct in August, and Prime HD announced at a general Direct in September.

I always like to imagine that the inner workings at Nintendo in Japan are so foreign and strange to any outsider, that they wouldn't even be able to explain to us how they are doing stuff. Actually I think it is like in the AppleTV+ Series Severance or more like at Aperture Science.
So we‘ve just to accept that they‘re like this.
