I know a lot of people are saying they need to see something different from Splatoon 3, but all I want are some new maps and clothes. And a game they are updating regularly and having Splatfests. I don’t think they need to have some radical departure from Splatoon 2
 
What if we were all wrong, and it is just a Pokémon Scarlet/Violet trailer (i would prefer that over any Splatoon announcements tbh).

Splatoon could totally get multiple "overview trailers" though

this could be apartments+hub+oled trailer, then next month we could get a new mode or single player trailer

A little while ago I was describing how I believe apartments could fit into Splatoon 3, how they would benefit QOL, and why I think they might actually be coming. Since this might be my last chance before they are confirmed or disconfirmed, allow me to take the opportunity to document my vision.

When you start Splatoon 3, you roll out of bed in your apartment. You have a laptop, smartphone, and closet all in a relatively small space. This way you can tune in to the new idols' livestream detailing the current rotation, change your equipment, and invite your friends to join your lobby or join theirs. Then, whether alone or with friends, you enter the main hub. This way you can perform all of the primary functions very quickly and optionally and enjoy the slower ones with friends in the hub. In addition to the obvious decoupling of lobby and game mode, this also would allow other players to shop in your hub's daily rotation and vice-versa.

As for why I think they might happen? Well, the hub is a dense urban environment with corridors shadowed by tons of apartments. It's also been a requested feature since the first game, and Animal Crossing is more popular than ever. My most trivial piece of evidence, however, is also the one I'm most confident in: the drum break that plays in the Splatoon 3 reveal when the hub is first shown is the same drum break from the original Splatoon startup, which shows a player apartment.

This is all good evidence.

However.

Who's paying the rent for these apartments? What about utility bills? In a realistic world like Splatoon's those sorts of questions need to be answered, lest our immersion be decimated.
 
Why the hell is everyone now dooming about a Splatoon OLED? Did I miss something? And why would an OLED increase the chances of a new hardware or 1st-party software announcement?
 
Regretfully, I have never owned a Splatoon game but I have played 2 a bit. My beef is why do you have to jump through hoops to be able to play in the same team as a friend? That’s my main issue, let me lobby up with a bud and let us be on the same team every match. Perhaps I missed something but the game doesn’t tell you anything on how this is possible at least not that I was aware of.

Otherwise the gameplay is fun. Pretty satisfying to shoot ink everywhere.

Isn't it wild that if we don't get a Splatoon OLED in two minutes that's actually worse for the Switch Pro? Like, how the hell did we get here?
 
Odd for them to reveal a console variant more than a month before release (aside from Pokemon) they haven't done this since the Smash Switch in 2018
