Hello, I'm Yoshiaki Koizumi and I will be your host for this Nintendo Direct.
Well, that's all I have to share with you today, thanks for watching !

Leakers having sources from Nintendo themselves sounds so Saturday morning cartoon detective drama in a way.

I imagine two people waking down the street, an elderly Japanese gentleman and a person with glasses and a master’s degree in maths. They look carefree and casual, but then they catch each other’s eyes. The elderly Japanese gentlemen nods to the side, towards a dark alleyway. He enters it, and the person with the degree deliberately waits for a while, and then enters the alleyway himself, while looking over his shoulder.

He makes it to the alleyway, and is now greeted by a person in a huge, beige raincoat and hat that covers their face, and they’re tossing down a cigarette butt and squashes it with an expensive shoe.

The person pulls away the raincoat and quickly hands the degree guy a bundle of papers that says “CONFIDENTIAL: STAR FOX ADVENTURES REMASTER”. The degree guy takes it, and puts it into a bag with the Fanta logo on it. The raincoat person quickly leaves.

Me after Takahashi/Koizumi asked for a 6th time in a Direct what did you think and am not interested in a slightest

Miyamoto: And I would like to announce the person who will play Link in the upcoming Legend of Zelda movie is…Chris Pratt san! We are so happy to have him back playing Link after the great job he did with Mario. Please, let’s hear a word from Chris san.

Chris: Thank You Mr. Miyamoto. I remember the days when I played Link and I used to stomp on…….Gorons…hahah.

Miyamoto: He’s so cool

if for some reason the switch 2 is revealed in a direct (it won't be) I want them to do a little skit about how big and heavy and awkward it is

rolling luggage to carry it? an oiled bodybuilder using it as a free weight? post your ideas below

Cast the Rock and John Cena and have them hold it up together.

Going by bili tweet the direct is definitely next week and Hi Fi Rush? Will be a shadowdrop.

Nate knows the Direct format. He knows the Xbox game coming to Switch which we all know is Hi Fi Rush. Him knowing the direct format makes me think, I said yesterday, it’s a General because he knows of a big game being shown off.

Didn't you just say yesterday that it's gonna be a "mini" for the same reasons?

Maybe it sounds selfish, but the Direct could be a 5 minute shadowdropped video called Nintendo Direct Nano and I wouldn't give a single fuck. I still use my Switch and enjoy it, but I've already lost any possible excitement for an event exclusively dedicated to it. I'm ready to move on and see what the new generation of Nintendo games has in store, after almost 12 years canstrained to the same power level.

If the Direct is this week, I really hope this is the one where we see the FE4 remake. I've played the original game multiple times and it's definitely one of my favourite entries in the series and I feel as though a remake could be absolutely incredible if done right.

It’s frustrating we feel both so close to the next Direct and yet so far still. With Switch 2 hanging so heavy it’s just so hard to know how big to dream or not. I think Switch 2 launches in September so if we kept at a pace of one game a month we only get to May without Prime 4 and to June with. That leaves two to three games unaccounted for, one of which is almost certainly Fire Emblem. Donkey Kong is the game I’m betting on most next, which leaves maybe one more? A remaster, a casual game (like Tomodachi), or a spinoff make the most sense, but picking it is tough. Really curious how this will shake out.

I want to discover the license with 4, so I hope it will be unveiled at the next Direct :)

Maybe just to add one more thought onto my prior post, I’m generally not worried about the third party / indie games at the next Direct at all. There’s plenty of big-ish games floating out there this time and a good deal of interesting contenders. I want to see these games since I want to know what to look forward to past April (which the game industry seemingly really doesn’t want to commit to lol) and I know General/Mini/Partner we’ll get that.

It’s only the Nintendo part that gives me concern. I’m really hoping either Prime 4 or the Switch 2 with a big game tease will be there. Either one and this Direct goes from solid/good to awesome.

So, what is the chances we hear something about Switch sucessor in that Direct? Anything, like a game, a name, or any other info that confirm it is coming.

Here, let me help you. It's Rune Factory Project Dragon, Chinese/Japanese themed RF, announced but not fully revealed:

yoo thank you

I always turn to your posts to flesh out my direct predictions, both real and shitpost

Zero. Maybe there’s a cross gen game in it, but nothing will hint that it’s a cross gen game.

I know I, for one, would always tell the truth about where I get the business/marketing info I leak if asked publicly on Twitter, so Pyoro is certainly being honest about not having access to YouTube backend, etc.

I'm also in the 'not massively excited' camp, for a combination of reasons. Sure, the most exciting things probably are on new hardware (and certainly, the biggest efforts will be heading there), but Switch will be my default system until I can replace it with next Switch. Partially my lack of excitement is deliberate - I've got a ton of stuff to get through already and I don't really feel like getting caught up in the Must Consume Next Thing mode I've been in for the last couple of years. For me, I'm most excited to perhaps finally see Metroid Prime 4 and to finally see what the Fire Emblem 4 remake will be like. Stuff like Star Fox, DK, Xenoblade X potentially coming back - I'd rather have that on new hardware.

What I am interested in, and what I do think we'll get, is some sort of NSO Expansion Pack update. With Mario Kart DLC coming to an end and Mega Drive drops seemingly vanishing (or being reduced to a couple of updates per year), there's a need for Nintendo to do more with their premium tier. They do seem to be aware of that - we got 3 N64 titles in December and 2 GBA titles in January, but that's not a rate of releases they'd be able to keep up all that long. With the recent GC controller stuff floating around - the kind of smoke which has preceeded systems coming to NSO - I'm very interested to see if Nintendo surprise me and start slowly adding GC titles in some fashion. I'd assumed that'd come with a price hike, or with a different method of delivery to the app-based system, especially with Nintendo already re-releasing multiple GC titles in different ways, but who knows.

It's not about telling the truth or trying to hide where the info comes from. The information he had about Everybody 1-2 Switch literally could not have come from Youtube since nothing was uploaded to Youtube about it for an entire month after he first leaked it. Nintendo just announced it on Twitter with nothing else about it for a whole month.

billbill-kun's tweet seems to be hinting at an indie game that's getting shadowdropped, so probably not Hifi Rush (it could still show up as a shadowdrop, just probably not the one being referred to here)

Personally I think billbill is probably hinting at one of either Penny's Big Breakaway, Pizza Tower, or Silksong
