Yes this would be dope. Give me Superstars but with a focus on the GameCube boards, and we’re all set
It's A LOT to ask, but 8 boards in total so each game has 2 boards?

Mario Party 4:
  • Shy Guy's Jungle Jam
  • Goomba's Greedy Gala

Mario Party 5:
  • Sweet Dream/Pirate Dream
  • Undersea Dream

Mario Party 6:
  • Towering Treetop
  • Snowflake Lake

Mario Party 7:
  • Grand Canal
  • Pyramid Park

What I mean is that majority of switch owners are not interested in it and no amount of marketing would remedy this.
I disagree. I think Prime 1 HD would've sold more with traditional marketing. Shadowdrops mainly appeal to pre-existing hardcore fans. Traditional marketing would've exposed Prime 1 to the new audiences on Switch (like what happened with Dread)

Isn't NDCube due for a new game? I don't think it's Mario Party, but it's been three years since Clubhouse Games. Maybe we're getting something like that?

I haven’t played most of the GCN Mario Party games, but I’m hoping to get into them. I loved MP8 on Wii as a kid, so I’m sure I’d enjoy the previous ones because they seem to follow a similar formula. I especially want to get into 4-7 because I have a soft spot for GCN. I suggested GCN-Superstars because I’d love to try the boards on modern hardware in HD.

As much as I’d love to see your suggestion happen, I too doubt that they would give 8 boards, especially when you look at the low board count in Super and Superstars. It would definitely be awesome. I think we’re more likely to get 1 board from each game, with maybe one game getting two boards.

I really hope we get a Grezzo confirmation. if they aren't working on SMRPG, i hope we get a new game from them

I can’t wait to play on 5 maps picked from 4 games…
Yep, I think it’d be that too. I would love to have 2 boards per game, but like I said, I think it would be 1 board per game with a single game getting two boards.

Rauru, Sonia and Mineru are some of the most elegant and badass designs the series has ever seen, so a warriors game where I could play as them would have me hyped. Sonia doing Recall fuckery, Rauru flinging stuff around with Ultrahand, Mineru whipping out tons of Zonai devices and the mech… I can picture it now.

Do whatever time travel/non-canon fuckery needed to make it happen. As long as the story is entertaining on its own (like I found AOC’s) I’ll be fine. Imprisoning War would just be a fun scenario to explore even if it’s not exactly canon. AOC already broke the canon anyway so it would be expected instead of a disappointing swerve.

Even from a story standpoint a non-canon Imprisoning War game that just uses the overall scenario can still flesh out the old sages, more Dorf screentime, Koume and Kotake tease payoff. That would still be satisfying to me.

I think this will be an RPG Direct. More broadly a Japanese-game Direct, since that’s usually the case for the September show, but I think RPGs will be most heavily featured. Mario RPG will be there, some Square Enix stuff, and maybe more Atlus too.

(I would absolutely love a metroidvania direct too, so that’s my second pick!)
Oh, there probably will be plenty of RPGs, anyway. Part of me still hopes Final Fantasy Tactics' remake or whatever might finally show up. It's already been almost a year since Tactics Ogre Reborn, and we knew both of them existed since the Nvidia leak.

Seriously, 6 was the low standard before and we couldn't even get that in a compilation game. 8 does not seem unreasonable to me at all.
And we had just came off of Super Mario Party which had like 20 characters lol. Like come on you can’t do a measly 10.

Despite the Switch nearing the end of its life cycle, there are still a few potential announcements that would make switchum lose his mind.

-Paper Mario TTYD remake/remaster
-Fire Emblem 4 Remake
-Tomodachi Life sequel
-Zelda TotK DLC

I can’t think of anything else right now, but there’s definitely more. And that’s on top of stuff I’m already excited for, like Wonder and SMRPG.

The Switch has helped me get into new franchises I’ve never really enjoyed, like Fire Emblem and Pikmin, so I’m hyped for more franchises than ever.
rumored 2D/3D Donkey Kong game for Switch?
Wind Waker/Twilight Princess HD or a brand new 2D Legend of Zelda?

Tactics is the main game I had in mind, along with some updates on hopefully DQ3HD and (maybe, more of a long shot) DQ12. Sounds like FF9 remake is a ways off yet, and probably too soon for another team Asano game unless we get Bravely Default 3 out of nowhere or something, but I’m not ruling it out.

DQM Switch will come out before we hear about DQ3 HD2D and definitely before DQ12 news comes out. Square has recently liked to focus on 1 DQ game at a time it seems, starting with DQX Offline, then Treasures, then Monsters Switch etc

I thought there were rumblings of a bravely default remaster or did I imagine that

They worked on horse stinker, but that's also been done for ages so they should have something out within the next year in all liklihood.

Late generation Mario Party was the trend on Wii (9 was 2012) and 3DS (Star Rush in 2016 AND The Top 100 in 2017), but Switch already has two Mario Party games and I don't know if it needs a third like 3DS (as much as i'd like those GameCube boards). Mario Kart almost makes me not want to give up on Superstars DLC, but there's no Mario Party mobile game to recycle assets from so I doubt it. We'll just have to wait and see what they've been up to.

Wait, so Stinky Horse wasn't from EPD4? Thank god, EPD4 is probably working on something actually interesting then!

Between the devs we haven't heard from in a bit and/or who probably could have something sooner than later (ND Cube, Grezzo, Camelot, Good-Feel - assuming they're doing more than their Goemon thing), I'm gonna guess at least one is working on something for the next thing to be ready early on.

Though without confirmation of who's behind the Peach game and the SMRPG remake, that also might account for two of them.

It was co-developed by both. Still, given how long it was seemingly sat on both sides have definitely long moved on to their next projects.

Hmm, that’s probably true. Ngl I totally forgot that game existed already despite being pretty interested in it after the last Direct!

Hopefully we’ll get confirmation at the September direct on whose making those games.

Between Super Mario Bros Wonder and Sonic Superstars, I choose Super Mario Bros Wonder without hesitation !

Super Mario Bros Wonder looks a lot more promising to me. And in recent years, Sonic (games) have tended to be average, so I don't have much confidence in them.

And of course, Nintendo will 100% reveal F-Zero GX remaster and then release it after the September 2023 direct ends.

You're 100% sure ? :D

Frankly, I wonder which game is more likely to be released as a shadowdrop between F-Zero and Metroid Prime 2 (and 3?) ?
Ideally, we'd like to have both, but it's unlikely that Nintendo will do that :(

The odds of us getting Arzest'd by Sonic Superstars is really damn high. Yes, a lot of the early hands on were positive, and they've said a lot of the right things, but Arzest is in my "guilty until proven innocency" bucket of developers.

If we don’t get DLC with a horseback Demon King fight, then make a Warriors game with that!

I know and partly agree with the story complaints about AOC, but Nintendo could always consider making the TOKT Warriors’ game story canon

Do you think Nintendo will show something for Gamescom Opening Night Live? Not sure if they had anything in previous years, but then again they didn't participate in gamescoms 2020-2022

For a new Hyrule Warriors based on Tears of the Kingdom they should do what they should have done for Age of Calamity: Split the game in half, first part is the "canon" prequel with the downer ending and after the credits you unlock an alternative story with all of the fun and crazy Musou fanservice.

I would absolutely reach peak nirvana if Keighly got another big Nintendo scoop and it was the rumored Donkey Kong game.

Nintendo might throw Geoff a bone and announce TotK DLC at the TGAs, i doubt they care enough to have something at ONL given they're expected to have a Direct mid-September.

Considering Doritos Pope himself said ONL was focused on updates for already announced stuff, if Nintendo is there I'd expect something like TotK DLC, Splatoon 3 update, or maybe a peak of the last Mario Kart DLC wave.

Annapurna seems to have a pretty strong presence on Switch so it seems more than likely we'll see their logo show up.

Thirsty Suitors has a release date of November 2nd, but Lorelei & The Laser Eyes needs one (the teaser trailer last June just confirmed PC and Switch). Maybe Stray will also get a port announcement? It only released on Xbox/GamePass a week ago, so the console exclusivity period is definitely over. I'd also like to see The Lost Wild get confirmation it's coming to Switch in the future even if the game is a year or two out (or as long as it's not deconfirmed for Switch 2). Love me some dinosaurs.

I have been saying this up until last week when I discovered Arzest co-developed Fantasian. If Sakaguchi trusts them, I trust them.

oh hell yes please

On the one hand, I don't care about platformers, so Arzest working on Fantasian doesn't mean anything to me

On the other hand, I thought The Last Story sucked ass, so I'm a little wary of Fantasian on those grounds

Forever Ent teased another remake announcement this year, right? Here's a crazy prediction that actually makes sense. We didn't get Panzer Dragoon 2 remake because the team moved on to a different Sega franchise. Sega teased to do something with Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio series, right? I think both will get remade by Forever's teams. Crazy Taxi remake will be in this upcoming Direct, that's my guess. JSR will be on February Direct.
