I just watched the Mario movie. Hot take to end all hot takes: it was fun.

Fun (and cute) fact: the actors who voice Mario and Luigi in the dub I watched (European Spanish) are actually brothers! The best part? The whole thing happened pretty much by coincidence: Guillermo Romero usually dubs Chris Pratt in Spanish dubs, so here he voiced Mario, and Rafa Romero usually dubs characters played by Charlie Day, so he did the same for Luigi.
I have never heard of any of this (nor the DWEU), but holy shit I am invested.
The DWEU usually does a good job at taking advantage of having the entire Whoniverse at their disposal without the constraints of a BBC budget, so there's plenty of outlandish stuff out there. Of course, there were more than a few times in which the authors went "Oooh, without the restraints of a family TV show, we can push the envelope and be really mature" (i.e. edgy nonsense), but then there was also pure, unadulterated gold, like Frobisher, the Sixth Doctor companion who is an alien private detective with the ability to shapeshift who happens to mostly prefer looking like a penguin.

(and yes, people have been hoping he actually gets to appear on the TV show for years)

This show is going to cause so many WTF’s this season XD

Especially with the shift from the opening arc to the main series tone XD

I cant wait for it to start, I think its tomorrow. I am reading the manga and I am excited to see how they translated scenes with a bunch of colors.

Good evening Fami, hope you all are having a brilliant day : )

I usually don’t do this, as I don’t like attention. And I hope even after this we will focus on the game, not me.

As some of you know, I do hobby journalism behind the scenes and research various things for fun. Some accurate Nintendo rumors that were reported by YouTubers and other sites in the past partially were based on my research. As I said, I don’t like attention and thus always asked everyone to keep me private, which I intend to continue remain private in those stories.

However, now I have something super exciting that I’m aware of. Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door Remaster is finally happening and coming out soon!

I have been in touch with 3 sources with this. One of them redirected to me to the third source, who I hadn’t interacted with before so it was just me cold messaging them on LinkedIn. Because this third source wouldn’t acknowledge the release date I had heard from the previous two sources, I’ll just leave it as “coming soon.”

I informed both @NintendoPrime and @NateDrake about this privately. There’s one more person I have informed, but they wish to remain anonymous.

I personally had always wished for TTYD remaster. I never played it on GCN so I’m over the moon excited to finally play it on Switch soon.
Hey there. Any chance you’ve heard about what type of “remaster” this is going to be? I feel like that word has lost a lot of it’s value in recent days going from describing full fledged HD remakes to simple upressed ports.

It’s been 3 years since TOK, so I’m wondering if this truly is their next “big” project, reusing assets from the previous game. Or if it’s a simple upressed port along the lines of Super Mario Sunshine 3D All Stars.

This sudden blast of a heatwave has me kind of enjoying it, since it’s the first really warm day this year, but also already dreading summer. It can take its time and arrive as late as possible, please

Today my life was changed, as for the first time I heard Leon's Dead by Daylight lines.

Content warning for uhh... that.

Just saw the Mario movie with the gf, she don't care for the games (her cousins would giver her a disconnected controller, so she never played much) and we both enjoyed a lot. It's shallow and could use more Koji Kondo and less licensed tracks, but it was fun and we had a great time.

I think my Switch’s microSD card is dying. All of my digital games are loading way slower lately.

I feel like when I look back on this era, I'm gonna miss Amphibia more than The Owl House, even though I like the ending of The Owl House more.
Understandable, they're both great shows. I'm more of a fan of TOH's more emotional storyline though. Season 2 and 3 had some incredibly powerful moments.

Luz admitting that her dad was dead, Eda basically trying to sacrifice herself thinking that her kids would leave her, Luz and Eda fighting because Eda was trying to send her away to keep her safe, Amity thinking Luz was rejecting her in the tunnel of love, Flapjacks death and Hunter finally standing up to Belos, Hunters complete mental breakdown at the end of Hollow Mind, and the last ten minutes of season two. This show hits you like a truck at times.

Whoa

Universal's Poseidon's Fury at the Island of Adventures is permanently closing May 10. So this might not be immediately obviously relevant to Nintendo, but there've loooooong been rumors that Universal's thinking about replacing the Lost Continent area with a Zelda themed land.

The reports have been that Universal's wary of committing to Zelda and other Nintendo IPs until they got a sense of how well Mario would do first. And guess what shattered all records last week? It wouldn't surprise me if a Zelda movie + Zelda themed area in the Island of Adventures have now been officially greenlit.

Apparently it's quite easy to gen shiny Pokemon, as someone on the Pokemon anime server I'm on got a shiny Electrode with an original trainer of a website where they sell shiny Pokemon.
yeah but those are often level 100s named something like www.pokegen.com. hell i got one of those on my wonder trade spree today. i got like two shinies hatched from eggs tho from seemingly legit trainers. since in sv you can throw a rock and get a shiny pokemon I guess people are just being generous with their spares. then again wonder traders are very generous in this game. lots of hisuian zoruas going around today.

people just giving away shinies like candy on wonder trade huh
Literally everyone I know but me is getting good shit off wonder trade. In the times I've played that game of roulette, I've gotten a Japanese Sunkern, a Japanese Wooper, and a Japanese Pawmi.

(I am not sending out anything of value myself, is that the issue?)

For fellow lovers of ye olde boomer shooters, Warhammer 40k Boltgun hits Switch (and everything else) 23rd of May! :)
I know, I'll be neck deep in Zelda too, but if I ever need a change of pace, this looks like good crunchy fun.

And for fellow connoisseurs of beautiful puzzle platformers, looks like we're getting Trine 5 later this year:

its just a matter of doing as many wonder trades as possible. like i didnt get the two shinies on the same day. what i like to do is chaining wonder trades. start off with one pokemon, then trade it. if i get something good i keep it, if i dont i trade that pokemon i just got until i get something good. just keep doing that until a good trade comes along. most wonder trades are kids giving away route 1 pokemon but if you just keep at it, eventually you'll get some good breeding rejects and maybe some discarded shinies,

Fuck, I totally missed that Wildfrost was releasing today, that’s so cool

I know they are more meme than movie now but Shrek and Shrek 2 were a lot of fun. I do not support the idea that they have always been bad.
Shrek 2 is incredible, but Shrek suffers a bit from the « mocks something in the first half ; then proceeds to do the exact same thing in the second half » syndrome imo. And I never saw it but apparently Shrek 4 is kinda good ?

I don't really want to be seen as the foremost authority on Shrek. That said, 4 is fine, but it very much benefits from proximity to 3.

Another Cloud game? Why, when we're this close to the launch of a new system? And it's a multiplayer game, first online cloud game on Switch. AND it's cross platform. Cannot think of a worse way to ruin the matches for others.

Makes me wonder where does Ubitus get money to release more cloud games? Their cloud titles are always on the bottom of eShop's Games on Sale page.

A rather lowkey dungeon-crawler rpg by Acquire, they did Triangle Strategy, its 26$ with a preorder discount (30$ overall). Looking forward to it, I like the relaxing vibes of drpgs lol.

Oh god damn Capcom .... the Mega Man Battle Network physical release is not being released in the EU, only digital here.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this.

Something really cool happened to me this Easter break. After more than a year without travelling there, I went to my parents' birth place, a small village in Granada (Spain) that I used to go to when I was a kid and now I don't really go there that much.

I hung out with my cousins a lot, and one of them showed me his old Game Boy, which used to be my uncle's (who passed away a few years ago). I took my analogue to the trip, and we gushed over old games and stuff. When I was about to leave, he gave me his copy of Gargoyle's Quest -that also used to belong to my uncle- saying that he noticed me staring at it and he thought I'd enjoy it, since I used to play it a lot growing up. I gave him my copy of Super Mario Land in exchange.

What a neat little game it is, honestly. Amazing that the Game Boy was able to run it.

Acquire did a DRPG on Vita called Mind Zero and while it wasn't the best DRPG I've played it had a pretty interesting premise. They do know how to make a quality DRPG's. Will get this some other time, right now I'm really burnt out on traditional grindy RPG's.

Also Acquire needs to remaster more of their stealth library. I wonder if there's a reason why they don't touch past Tenchu games?

It's also hard as fuck. Little me poured so much time into beating that game that i have some of the levels still in my muscle memory.

And the Engrish localization. Oh my god, it's prolly one of the Top 3 Engrish localizations ever.
