I can't take Nintendo youtubers seriously anymore, maybe there are some exceptions but not so many. Reporting on every bs rumor that is out there and I mean everything, oscar acting like thumbnails + putting weird games on thumbnails. And list goes on and on.

Sunshine is a good game.

This is where I admit I am a terrible anime movie fan and have only seen like... three Ghibil movies

I've firmly seen some.

In order from most to least favorite:

Ponyo
Castle in the Sky
My Neighbor Totoro
Pom Poko
Kiki's Delivery Service
The Tale of the Princess Kaguya
Grave of the Fireflies
Howl's Moving Castle
The Wind Rises

Next up when I have a few spare dollars, The Castle of Cagliostro (though not a literal Studio Ghibli film).

Hm, I think I've actually seen more Ghibli films than Pixar films...let's see (no particular order):

Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Toy Story 3
Toy Story 4
The Incredibles (most of it)
The Incredibles 2
Up
Inside Out
Cars 3
Finding Nemo (about two-thirds of it?)
Monsters Inc. (three-quarters of it)
maybe half of A Bug's Life?
40% of Cars (or, I remember 40% anyway - these partial Pixars, they were kinda just on the TV in the background).

Ghibli wins for most seen in full (and fully paid attention to). Pixar always looks awesome, but I'd only consider Inside Out, Up, Toy Story, and Toy Story 3 real art (and possibly Finding Nemo, if and when I watch it properly).

You have not yet seen Spirited Away??? That’s basically the Ghibli film to watch

EDIT: Quoted Post Redacted
  1. Metroid Prime Remake
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
  4. F-Zero GX (GCN Remaster)
  5. Eternal Darkness (GCN Remaster)
  6. Luigi's Mansion (GCN Remaster)
  7. Kirby Air Ride (GCN Remaster)
  8. Super Paper Mario (Wii Remaster)
  9. Punch-Out!! (Wii Remaster)
  10. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii Remaster)
EDIT: I don't know if Muramasa: The Demon Blade should be included if its just Nintendo-published games.

I'm ready to re-visit the best dungeon with the best boss in the Zelda series.

I adore City in the Sky so much. It's so majestic and imposing, with fantastic level design to boot, and the best item in any Zelda in my opinion, not to mention the boss, that just bursts the epicness-scale with pure bravado.

Seriously, receiving a second clawshot, and realising that you can just go full Spider-Man across huge swathes of the entire dungeon is sooo intoxicating.

?????

Everything after F-Zero isn't a rumor lol. And Eternal Darkness will never get a remake/remaster for moral reasons.

okay, here are my guesses for the 12

1. Wind Waker
2. Twilight Princess
3. Advance Wars 1+2
4. Metroid Prime HD
5. Fire Emblem?
6. uhh Zelda??
7. GameBoy NSO???
8. F-ZERO GX?
9. 2D Mario?
10. Tokyo project?
11. NST game that's supposed to be out
12. indieszero Rhythm Heaven
How dare you forget about our lord and savior: Stinky Horse game.

Tempering my expectations for next week's Direct.

Out of all the rumors, the new Fire Emblem has the strongest odds of appearing in this Direct. Because I honestly can't see a scenario where Fire Emblem doesn't release early next year. The game is finished and ready to go. I'll be a little baffled if it doesn't appear in the Direct.

A word of caution. I like Jeff Grubb as both a person and as a reporter. I think he's super cool. But judging by his tweet below, it doesn't seem like he's 100% confident about the Direct being a 'Zelda blowout'. I could be wrong, but that's how I'm interpreting his tweets? So, I think it would be wise for people to manage their expectations going into this Direct. I don't think any insiders actually know the full contents of this Direct.

I don't think there's any need to temper expectations in this case. From what I heard on that day's Nintendogs podcast the thing they were absolutely certain of being there was Zelda ports, nothing else. Then, Jeff said he personally expects the Prime Remaster, although they hadn't explicitly heard it would be there like they did with Zelda.

Seems like this tweet is worded poorly - should we listen to what he says or should we take what he tweets at face value? What I think he meant was just that prime remastered was his personal prediction. Twitter and nuance is not a common combo unfortunately.

But hey, theres still a very real possibility that the info he got is wrong, or plans change. I mean I completely missed the whole drama with the direct delay (how would that have worked anyway... ugh)

Also realizing now that this point of contention has been kinda resolved, but we were always in the clear to some degree lol

Looks at the list of Ghibli movies

You might wanna drop anything you're doing and go watch Princess Mononoke right now
I'd pay money to see it for the first time again

Couldn't have said that better myself. I agree the the dungeon designs in TP are the best in the series. They just blend in so well with everything else in the game, I didn't know they were supposed to be dungeons (I'm talking about Snowpeak here).

I have Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers on Blu-ray but I haven't watched them yet. I'm waiting for the holidays to finally get to them.

Bit of a late response but both of these movies are excellent, along with the rest of Satoshi Kon’s filmography. His movies are right up there with the best of Miyazaki and Takahata.

Yeah pfffft why would you guys believe insiders' "Nintendo sits on finished games to fill out their release schedule" bullshit that was definitively proven correct 4 months ago.

The last few days really flew by hmm?

Almost Direct time.

If I had to choose one Gamecube game that would receive a Remaster/Remake (besides Prime 1) I would definitely choose Luigis Mansion 1. Never played it. That game in a modern HD style would be really appreciated. Would look fantastic.

Don't worry, it sounds worse when you hear it

@Dark Cloud and doubles down at 4:45

Come to think of it, I'm really not a fan of the "get engagement from other peoples rumors while discrediting their integrity" undertone of the video. Seems kinda... not nice
I am really glad I stopped to browse Reddit.
I saw so many hateful things in the "gaming leaks and rumors" subreddit for folks they don't even know or interact with.

The irony of visiting a subreddit dedicated to leaker culture while simultaneously complaining about them....

Can’t believe it’s finally Direct Time again🤩
I‘m also looking forward to Nates Prediction Podcast! My guess is, that will it go online when the Direct is formely announced?

Aw I missed the Ghibli film talk

I'd just like to say that next to the classics such as Spirited Away, Howl and Kiki, I also really loved:
  • The Secret World of Arrietty
  • From Up on Poppy Hill
  • When Marnie was There (or was it Here.. 🤔)

Also..
The Grave of the Fireflies.....

But in general, my favorite anime movie has to be " A Silent Voice "
KyoAni's art + an emotional story = Masterpiece

BACK TO UH NINTENDO:

Very much looking forward to the inevitable direct, and I really hope we get to see FE in there.

Even if we don't, I already got waaay too many good games this year already so I'll be content either way!

Where is this 12 games coming from? His 4 sources are all from Emily’s posts on this website. Did she ever say anything about Starfox Adventure or Nintendo is sitting on 12 games?
Well I kept asking Emily about Star Fox Adventures or inserting the topic of SFA in unrelated posts so if anything I'd say my campaign is working.

How has everyones gaming year gone? This is the most I've ever gamed on Switch and it's... not even close. Going by the Nintendo newsletter and discounting January (as that was for December) I'm at 900 hours.

25 games beaten this year

22 on Switch
3 on XSX

30 games bought this year

29 on Switch
1 on XSX

Yeah I'm pretty much only playing on my Switch this year.. (even though I did beat a game on Xbox yesterday hah)
